Comeback Queens: Gwen Stefani & Fergie’s New Single Titles Revealed

The parallels between the narratives of Gwen Stefani and Fergie are uncanny.

Both ladies stem from groups. Both ladies broke out solo with sounds that fused Pop and Urban. And both ladies were incredibly successful during the mid 00’s.

It’s fitting, although we doubt coincidence, then that the lady’s label Interscope are gearing up to launch their respective comeback campaigns within a month of each other.

Excited? If so, you won’t have to wait long to hear what the Pop forces have been cooking up.

Details below…

With Stefani set to debut as a coach on the newest season of The Voice (which kicks off on September 22nd), it appears the No Doubt front-woman is planning to make the most of her position on the spinning chair. Because today Haze from Star 941 FM tweeted the following:

What’s more, according to our friends over at Pop Justice, ‘Baby Don’t Lie’ will be officially sent to radio on October 6th. Meanwhile, with Fergie-Ferg, Billboard‘s Associate Director of Charts/Radio Gary Trust posted the following — also today:

Confirming the news seconds ago, the Black Eyed Peas member teased fans saying:

fergie-ferg

We’re every flavour of buzzed! Bring on the music! Quarter 4 is shaping up to be a one of the most eventful in recent memory.

      idiot with no career x1.

These girls are why Rih has GGGB. Every song on that album took from Fergie, Gwen and Nelly.

    • Mark111 September 17, 2014

Biggest lies I ever seen on this site. Fergie straight up copied Gwen and Nelly with the urban beat and pop rap. Those ladies brought you Gaga and Kesha, not Rihanna. GGGB was the Control of the 2000s, it had, set and made it own sound and way.

    • ANGEL September 17, 2014

Every song like what? She was inspired by Brandy’s Afrodosiac the most (her own words). GGGB was urban pop-dance with a splash of R&B, not faux hip-pop like Fergie and them!

      • Mark111 September 17, 2014

More lies, although that album was two years ahead of it’s time, GGGB sounds nothing like it. FS/LS and GGGB were the two albums that merged pop, urban and r&b together.

      • ANGEL September 17, 2014

        ?

  4. BadBeyBey September 17, 2014

Gwen has a better chance of slaying than Fergie has so I hope Interscope have got something major up their sleeves for ha.

Nelly Furtado really needs to return back.
Her songs before “Promiscuous” was the Bomb.com.
    Like seriously? YES!

They (Nelly Furtado, Gwen Stefani, Fegie) should make a super-group or do something together, they all have the same similarities.

      • Lana Del Bae September 17, 2014

Nelly paid the price for selling out to Timbo. Yeah that album slayed but she lost her core audience and picked up the gp but not even they were here for her when she dropped the last album.
Miss thing needs to return to her roots.

    • #TeamTinashe Stan (Pre-Order “Aquarius” Now On iTunes) September 17, 2014

She tried to a little bit with her last album and it FLOPPED hard. So I think sticking with JT and Timbaland is something she should stick to.

  6. BadGyalRita September 17, 2014

No wonder Rihanna is scared to release this year.

    • SoGone4Monica September 17, 2014

She knows she can only slay when there’s no competition and the same goes for Beyonce but Rihanna’s is much worse because she doesn’t sell well first week.
Beyonce would still sell nice first week but may not get the number one if she was competing with a Rock or Country act but Rihanna would get low first week numbers AND chart low too. Double the embarrassment if you ask me.

      • Rihboy September 17, 2014

When has rihanna charted low? You must got her confused with bey

    • Rihboy September 17, 2014

Why is everyone more pressed than the dans for Rih to release? Its been two years. Maybe she wants to release next year. Its ok we anxious too. Neither of those two are a threat anyways. Although i love me some gwen. Just had to bring riri into the mix hug.

  7. Legendtina September 17, 2014

Neither can sing live to save a life but Fergie had a solid album. They could’ve taken over pop but then Katy Perry and Lady Gaga came along.

    • SCREAMtina September 17, 2014

B**** u say that as if your favorite can sing live! #SitDown

    • cruz September 18, 2014

You’ve clearly never seen No Doubt live -Gwen Stefani f&*#ing KILLS her live shows

  8. P**** Juice – Returns September 17, 2014

Yasssssssss 2006/7 all over again!!!!! I AM LIVING!!! Too good to be true..

  9. FutureCIARA September 17, 2014

Im so here for both these ladies!!!!

Fergie Ferg let me luv ya long time! OH SHITT!!!

  10. ANGEL September 17, 2014

Ain’t none of y’all gonna purchase their albums

  11. Tron September 17, 2014

Rihanna scared to release. Adele, 1D, Taylor, Eminem, Nicki, Fergie, Gwen. I wish U2 had waited to Black Friday week too because they probably would have crushed them all. Anyways baby to Rihanna…she would literally get steamrolled over all these ALBUM sellers!

    • ANGEL September 17, 2014

Y’all are so pressed over Rihanna!! Adele doesn’t have a release date, Nicki ain’t no threat, 1D releases almost every November like Rih, Gwen is no threat and neither is Fergie. Have several.

      • Faf September 17, 2014

Nicki isn’t a threat to rihanna ? Scuhhhhhhreaaaaammms

      • Marina’sDiamonds September 18, 2014

Nicki’s lowest first week number is HIGHER than Rihanna’s average first week number boo boo so Nicki IS a threat.

      • Cbreezy September 18, 2014

First week? But her second album BOMBED. AGLM is platinum and 3x platinum worldwide. Who is really checking for a Garbaj album these days?

  12. biting truth September 17, 2014

    Rihanna scared to release! lol

    • Faf September 17, 2014

      DEATH

  13. Mark111 September 17, 2014

Well they did set ways for Gaga, Katy and Kesha, but I really think the kids of those eras has grown up now. I here for Qwen, she was the hatch of the pop girls with urban beats, crazy style and videos. Fergie, I’m sorry, but that train is gone, not only did Kesha drove it off, but Iggy is not the captain of it.

    • ANGEL September 17, 2014

We all saw the disaster that was nelly Furtado #6k. Maybe Fergie will prove me wrong, but I doubt it!!! Gwen already flopped w/No Doubt last year, or was it two years ago?

    • Love Life September 17, 2014

Can you say that again in English please

  14. CherylSoldierr September 17, 2014

Mark, stay in school. That post was a mess.

    • Love Life September 17, 2014

Right! I thought i was the only one who clocked. My eyes were burning trying to figure out what he was actually trying to say.

  15. Love Life September 17, 2014

Tbh, I think Gwen has better chance than Fergie. The woman is 40+ with 3 kids and something about her is still the BOMB. Natural swag.

  16. SC_ September 17, 2014

They could either be really successful or bomb, no in between. It would be nice to relive my high school days with some new music from them, but this new generation may not be interested. We will see…

  17. Blacksista September 17, 2014

They fans aren’t busy fighting in the Internet so they should be fine

  18. LB September 17, 2014

Taking a break from shade throwing, will be coming back occasionally to read Mark111s drags though.

    • S*** September 18, 2014

Yeah right. You’re just just going to post under other names as usual, thinking no one will notice. You fool no one. This is your life. You got nothing else better to do.

  19. JOHNVIDAL September 18, 2014

I really don´t know how the public and radio are going to react to these releases. Several years have gone by. And look at Nelly Furtado. And No Doubt´s recent album didn´t slay charts (not to mention Gwen said something like she would never try the solo thing again cause it was too much). I don´t know. Maybe Fergie is teh one with the best shot, at least when it comes to singles charts. Don´t care too much for any of them.

  20. GEEZUS September 18, 2014

    My iphone is ready ladies!!
