After planting a ‘Kiss‘ on the world this summer and heating up dance floors near and far with the sizzling ‘She Came To Give It To You’, Usher has teased the release of his forthcoming Drake duet this week!

Hoping for a ‘Loyal’ type club banger from the pair? Well that’d be unfortunate, for thanks to new details shared by the ‘Burn’ performer, we now know that the song will be anything but, touching on issues of the deeper persuasion.

Usher’s words below…

He was in love with the record the first time he heard it. I really feel like I could do this record a service and just take it up another notch. It’s great, and I’d love to be a part of this one.He touched on some pretty personal stuff in it, man. It’s definitely one of those really cool, vibey records.

Though yet to announce the song’s title, the above is what Usher had to say on his Drake duet when quizzed on it by ‘Vibe’, teased before the arrival of ‘The UR Experience’ tour and its supporting album, ‘UR.’

Usher is lying he doesn’t have a song
With drake. Times are really tough
    For Usher.

exactly ten years ago, he released his most successful album. Confessions — 14 million sold.
    now he’s flopping. sad.

    • Stephy. September 8, 2014

Wait, I thought Confessions sold 20,000,000+ copies???

Because he is a trend hopper, a late one at that. Instead of focusing on creating a solid body of work, he would rather chase hits. He’s been like this for years now, and that’s why he is so forgettable.

      • eric September 8, 2014

@LK. I feel the same way. He has no real direction and no real concept for this next album.

Usher is such a handsome young brotha. I wish the best for him. I must admit, the new material so far sucks to me. But, good luck.

So basically your typical Drake record then? So sad to see Usher, who is supped to be a vet, be a such a shameless trend hopper. No reason why he shouldn’t be standing next to the likes of Beyonce and timberlake, yet he stays chasing a hit.

Exactly he supposed to be in the
      League with JT and Beyonce,
But at this point he can barely
Keep up with Trey and Chris
      And that’s not acceptable

      • Mark111 September 8, 2014

He surpassed them 10 years ago. They don’t have a diamond album nor an album that sold over 20 million. That’s like saying Adele should get on Bey and JT level, freaking WHO?

All them girls born in the 80’s loved some Usher, he been letting them down for a while now, nobody’s excited no matter how many names he drops.

Y’all are unnecessarily negative on this site. I’m feel this record will be pretty dopel. Usher does a pretty good job of keeping up with today’s music while managing to keep that old school usher sound.

      *I …… *Dope . Autocorrect fail!

    • Yh September 8, 2014

He stays trying to keep up alright. Hence why he’s tryna give us Blurred Lines 2.0 with this She Came To Give It To You track…

The ones that hating are the same ones that were saying “We need Usher back, yassss King, come back”. But when it’s time to buy… well you know the rest. For years I seen on Nicki videos, “Eve, Kim and Missy, please come back” and when they drop singles or an album, they’re nowhere to be found.

Usher is corny. Bruno is the new king.

    • CzarM September 8, 2014

You have that completely backwards. Bruno is the epitome of the word “corny.” They don’t make sandwiches big enough for his cheese. Yeah, Usher has lost his way and is becoming lame, but to suggest that he’s a lessor to a dork like Bruno is laughable.

Daveeeeeey *clap* *clap* Daaaaaaaavey Crockett! King of the Wild Frontieeeeer!!

  10. Dossome September 8, 2014

His singles lately suck…but i’m in love with the album tracks

Usher tries too hard to remain ‘young and hip’ and has been jumping on every producer’s d*** in search of a ‘Yeah’ type hit.as a result he has lost a lot of integrity as an artist.People like queen bey never sellout and that’s why she’s the legend that she is today. Its sad because he has the chops, the hits and the commercial success to be an icon but he’s just not.

    • Absolved September 8, 2014

ITA. 100% spot-on. Rather than defiantly hold to who he is (and always was) as an artist, Usher panicked when he saw a crop of newer artists emerge and hit with a sound that was unlike his and was willing to bend, compromise and pander just to stay competitive. In the end it did nothing for his image, left him creatively lost and his long time fans disillusioned. Now it’s like he’s scrambling to try and put Humpty Dumpty back together again after the BS that was “OMG,” “DJ” and “Scream” broke it, and he’s finding that it ain’t that easy.
