Tracy Chapman‘s ‘Fast Car’ found a friend in the soulful Pop sensation that is Sam Smith yesterday, who performed the song at BBC Radio 1’s ‘Live Lounge’!

Doing so for host Fearne Cotton, his performance came as part of ‘Even More Music Month’, a scheme launched by the BBC to celebrate live music for 30 consecutive days at their aforementioned ‘Lounge.’

Why they’ll no doubt be pleased they invited Smith to join their acoustic party?

A stellar showing, below…

I appreciate that he made it his own, and I do like
His voice, but I prefer the original arrangement and the
emotion that Tracy brought to the song!

He did that! Made me fall in love with the original but I do prefer his arrangement. I love Sam. So humble and handsome. Majorly BIG things ahead for this lad and I’ll back him with every move! Massive Fan

I agree and I am really looking forward to what he does in the future when he has a little more musical and life experiences. He’ll be a force!

His voice sounds great but why leave out the original guitar riff? That is what makes the song. I’d love to hear him cover it exactly as the original, much better.
