It’s that time of year again.
The American Music Awards are around the corner, which means there’s no time better than the present to unveil the list of nominees for the 2014 edition of the show.
Set to air on November 23rd live from Los Angeles, this year sees Iggy Azalea and John Legend lead the pack with six nominations a piece. Pharrell Williams follows with five, while chart force Beyonce earns four – notably in a number of major categories.
Interestingly, the criteria for nominations are sales, airplay, activity on social networks, and video viewing. The period of eligibility for singles and albums released is between 1 December of the previous year and 1 September of the current year. A fact which makes Ariana Grande‘s omission an intriguing story in itself.

Frustrated because Rihanna’s team won’t release an album on her this year because they know that she couldn’t handle the competition this quarter and would literally get her ass handed back to her…and if she released immediately after this quarter, it would still flop because music sales are almost as dead as the feeling in her v***** during the first few months of the new year. The only thing she can do is wait until next spring, but by then it’ll be 2.5 years since a Rihanna album came out — and we all know that the public doesn’t take her seriously enough to anticipate her for THAT long.
