Over the last year, the singer has ramped up her use of the platform to share everything from fashion snaps to quotes, to personal pics of her family.
Her approach has paid off handsomely. Because, as of this week, the 33-year-old has become the most followed female Pop star on the site.

As at writing, Bey boasts 20 million followers – a figure she crossed over the weekend.
Interestingly, the number is only bested by Instagram’s home account (61 million), and those of Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian who have 22 million and 21 million followers a piece.
Yet, in a testament to King B’s potency, she managed to hit such a number with a fraction of the posts of each of the aforementioned.

For, just last week Lauren Wirtzer-Seawood (Head Of Social Media Strategy at Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment) opened up about the the singer’s use of social media saying:
We take a very strategic approach to platforms. Primarily we use Facebook and Instagram at this point.
Instagram is something that Beyoncé most of the time uses directly herself: she posts pictures. It’s her way of communicating to fans a little bit of what her personal life is like.
We’re very careful not to be too salesy in anything that we do/ That’s not the kind of relationship that Beyoncé has with her fans. She wants it to be organic, and she wants it to really come from her. And it does.
Currently, we don’t use Twitter at all. It is a personal choice. I think as an artist, Beyoncé really prefers to communicate in images. It’s very hard to say what you want to say in 140 characters.
