Good for Nicki Minaj, but the original number is THE number. Billboard mucked up the BB200 by adding streaming. Just b/c it can be done does not mean it should be. Soundscan and computerized calculations have made it too tempting for Billboard to keep tinkering with the charts b/c it’s really no additional effort for the staff. The BB200 should measure sales of albums in the album format, and that’s all it should measure. People who stream and buy a particular single by an artist, but not the artist’s album, are not supporting the album, and their support of a particular single should not factor in the album chart.
