J. Cole Blasts Iggy Azalea & Eminem On New Album / Compares Them To Elvis Presley

Published: Wednesday 3rd Dec 2014 by David

Oft accused of stealing music made by African-American artists to create his own, the legend that is Elvis Presley has been compared to rappers Iggy Azalea and Eminem this year.

Who made the comparison? ‘Crooked Smile’ rapper J. Cole, who blasted the pair with “culture vulture” claims in a song named ‘Fire Squad‘, pulled from his latest studio album.

His controversial stance on the pair below…

History repeats itself and that’s just how it goes / Same way that these rappers always bite each other’s flows / Same thing that my ni**a Elvis did with rock ‘n’ roll / Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and then Macklemore.

While silly ni**as argue over who gon’ snatch the crown / Look around my ni**a, white people have snatched the sound / This year I’ll probably go to the awards dappered down / Watch Iggy win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile.

I’m just playin’, but all good jokes contain true shit / Same rope you climb up on, they’ll hang you with.

The lyrics above can be found in ‘Squad’ when the album drops on December 9th, slamming a supposed trend in the music industry which mocks and belittles Hip Hop culture when fronted by African-Americans, but is praised and pushed by the powers-that-be when embraced by the Caucasian counterparts.

Does Cole have a point?

They aren’t PAYING FOR BLACK MUSIC by BLACK TALENTS. WHY??? DOBT KNOW

  2. Sherry December 3, 2014

JT, Eminem and even Mack are talented. Iggy, not so much but what’s the big deal? There are soooo many white rappers and R&B singers who are bigger flops than the black artists lol. JCole’s mom is white too. He needs to shut up. Kendrick>

He is the REALEAST rapper out there right now & speaks volumes… Those trash bag girls Macklemore & Iggy could never.

  5. Okay then December 3, 2014

but a white person invented the CD, when do you hear white people saying black people are getting rich “Using white technology”

No race of people who anything… Anyone of any race can sing whatever music they chose!

    • Okay then December 3, 2014

      • You tried December 3, 2014

I have to agree with @OkayThen I’m black and I’m tired of this FOOLERY that these HIPHOP MALES ARE SPEAKING OUT BOUT A FEMALE WHITE RAPPER! This isn’t the first white rapper and wont b the last but since a FEMALE white rapper gains success it’s a CRIME AGAISNT CULTURE?????! No man up and grjnd harder and get ur paper don’t bite the next persons that’s week as hell! This is becoming very RACIST! And HYPOCRITICAL!

    • DEL BEY December 3, 2014

They only invented the CD along with many other inventions because they robbed and stole from foreign lands like Africa to get the resources to build those things, also robbing, raping and killing Africans for the diamonds and resources that would go on to be used to build universities and institutions where the knowledge to create technology would be found

      • okay then December 3, 2014

omg IT WAS James T. Russellin who invented the CD
White people also created the internet.. which is for everyone.. no one says.. black people are getting rich from using that, even if it was created by white people!
Black people always tend to moan about white people making money, for so called black music.. it makes them all hypocrites

      • DEL BEY December 3, 2014

B**** did you listen to anything I said, apart from the white race stealing and excelling in a black created industry, they robbed and STOLE and R**** the people
of AFRICA in order to get precious resources like diamonds that would go on to be used to build UNIVERSITYS that would lead to the creation of TECHNOLOGY… so white people only invented many important inventions of the BLOOD of AFRICANS that they stole from in the first place, it’s an endless cycle of injustice.. More than any other race WHITE people have gone across the world and KILLED and ROBBED innocent people… more than any other race… DISMISSED

      • okay then December 3, 2014

        “black created industry”

You’re really mad.. I think. Anyone can go to whatever country they want and dig up stuff, and using it to their own advantage. No race own any land!!

Stop trying to take away credit for white peoples inventions..

      • DEL BEY December 3, 2014

B**** again I will explain, first of all, no one owns land BUT when you jump on your little boats to another continent what you don’t do is MURDER and R*** the people in order to access the resources they are sitting on, not only did they STEAL all the resources from the land of the AFRICANS but they took the PEOPLE as products and used them as SLAVES, now if that’s no bad I don’t know what is, and WHITE people only invented things because they were able to buil universites and places of education of the BLOOD MONEY of AFRICANS, had WHITE people stayed on their cold lonely continent and not killed people then mate AFRICA would be in a completely different state at the moment, it may of been AFRICANS to lead the world of invention, but they were repressed, beaten and r**** before they had the chance to EXCEL….. DISFUCKINGMISSED

      • okay then December 3, 2014

That happened years ago, but the 2 inventions I bought up happened pretty recent. That wouldn’t go on now. If the English went to Africa and started doing those things, all the other government’s of the world, would be on our case, and we’d be condemned world over.

Things have changed, and what happened was wrong.

      • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

If they robbed those foreign lands to invent those things, tell me then, why does foreigners who owned the natural resources didn’t invent those items first? Oh that’s right, your point is irrelevant.

The only people who EVER b**** and moan about being robbed are African Americans. You don’t hear Caucasians crying about Blacks stealing music just because it can all be traced back to the grand symphonies of the 18th and 19th centuries.

  6. BeyxMaraj December 3, 2014

‘The rope you climbed upon, they’ll hang you with it’. I spot no lies Cole!!!

  7. Mark111 December 3, 2014

I’ll have to disagree with Em and even JT. They give credit, plus their music isn’t jacking from anyone else. Em’s beats by Dre sounds like no other, his flows also sounds like no other and he brought tje other side of poverty to hip hop, trailer parks. JT, even on his Mickey Mouse days always had an urban swag. Tho I do hear Genuine amd MJ on his sound, but MJ is a giving that most are inspired by and Gos from TTimberland. But even with that, his vocal style is all him, even Nsync has a urban pop sound. Wacklemore and Uggly are jackers. But I don’t see them here for long. But say what you wamt, Mack had the biggest and maybe the best album that year. The Grammy never give to the streets. I think Will Smith beat Biggie for thay award back in the day, or maybe it was some other pop rapper, but the point is that Biggie was one of the best, and he lost to a softer, more safe rapper. Now Adele and Sam is a different story.

    • Toohotfortv December 3, 2014

Do you hear yourself? The beats “that dre gave em”. Umm helluurrr! And as for never hearing a style similar to em’s…. you apparently are not that versed in hip-hop. And honestly, people in country music have sung about trailer parks forever lol… have a seat.

  8. Enlightened December 3, 2014

Society says black people are ghetto for showcasing the culture they’ve built for themselves and are persecuted, stopped and searched for wearing particular clothes and listening to particular music.
Then it turns around and will call a white person edgy and unique for doing the very same thing the black person is doing.
Some say “music doesn’t have a color.” Well, tell that to the artists who had their music stolen from them and given to white artists whose families CONTINUE to make money from their hard work to this very day.

If a person is talented and has a genuine love for a music people can tell, which is why everyone loved Pink when she was a R&B girl, but it makes people ANGRY when they can tell that a label is manufacturing rappers like Iggy who have no real link or connection to the music and don’t even have the talent to perform it with conviction.

    • cruz December 3, 2014

Eminem is ghetto too – it isn’t about race it is about education, class, & the way one presents themselves. Walk around cussing with pants down to your ankles, sipping cough medicine from a styrofoam cup and yes I will call you GHETTO AS F*** – regardless of race.

    • Brian310 December 3, 2014

Everyone keeps using Pink as an example but she did not want to do R&B when she 1st cane out LA Reid forced her to do it and on her 2nd album she demanded more control and her sound changed and she hasn’t touched R&B in her music since….I don’t understand this logic of races not being able to do certain music if that were the case we wouldn’t have huge success stories like MJ, Janet, or Whitney seeing as some of their biggest hits were pop songs.

      • CzarM December 3, 2014

LA didn’t force Pink to do R&B music. She started out in an R&B group (one that she willingly joined) that got a deal with LaFace. The group broke up but the label kept her, and continued in that direction since it was what she came to them as. It was Pink who was too scared of losing her shot of stardom that went along with what they assumed. Think about it: would any label who forces an artist to go with a certain sound just allow them to abruptly drop it after one album? Especially when said album was a hit. How many artists have that kind of power so early on in their career? They could have easily said “No, you’re urban and that’s what you’ll continue to be.” That she was able to switch her sound completely so early tells me that she was never “forced” to do R&B. It was something that she used to get her foot in the door, so in that regard she too can be lumped in with those white artists who’re accused of cultural appropriation.

      • Brian310 December 3, 2014

That’s not true, Xtina was able to completely change her sound on her next 2nd album even tho her label wanted her to be the Mariah/Whitney of her class, Aaliyah was able to change her sound on her 2nd album even tho her label wanted her to repeat the sound of her 1st album (she had to fight for One In A Million to be released), Justin sound was completely different from Nsync because pop wasn’t something he was interested in doing but of course to get a break he did it…my point being sometimes labels give in and allow artist to control the sound of their albums, sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn’t.

      • CzarM December 3, 2014

Xtina was lucky enough to have timing on her side. When she went to record her second album, that late 90s t*** pop sound was over so she wasn’t forced to repeat it, and in the meantime what she now wanted to do was in line with what was now taking over. If in 2002 songs like “Genie In a Bottle” and “Come On Over” had still been what was still trending, then chances are she wouldn’t have as easily been able to move on from it. Same with Aaliyah. Had that controversy with R. Kelly hadn’t happened that negatively effected her image, the formula for AANBAN probably would have been repeated but no one was going to stand for seeing her repeat that after what went down. She would have flopped. In fact, Aaliyah wanted Tim and Missy to write and produce her entire second album, but the label only allowed them to do roughly half of it. The other half was produced by others whose sound was closer to what R. did for her on the first album than theirs. It’s not common for artists to be able to take creative control and start calling their own shots after just one hit album. They haven’t earned enough credit to pull rank. It was because LA Reid liked Pink and because he apparently wasn’t never bent on her being R&B — even if was what he expected it — that she was allowed to convert.

      • Brian310 December 3, 2014

The 90s pop wasn’t in but pop music as a whole wasn’t dead I mean you had Janet go back to pop with All For You and Madonna stuck with pop with her Music album, if Xtina wanted to continue with a pop sound her label would have loved it and continued with it….As far as Aaliyah goes she was never someone who was keen on having one producer solely produce her album which is why Tim didn’t produce all of her 2nd album and almost didn’t make the cut for the last album…all the producers from One In a Million outside of JD were all new and provided a different sound for her which is what she wanted and her 3rd album was the same she worked with new producers. If she had no control and they wanted her to follow that sound she would have been forced to work with Teddy Riley and other well known producers who had a similar style do R. Kelly…Lastly LA Reid wanted Pink to be R&B because the label was urban and because her voice suited R&B which is why she was successful with it but Pink did everything she could to try and not be R&B by dying her hair amongst other things to have him and the label not push her to R&B.

  9. Applause December 3, 2014

Iggy music is better than Nicki’s yet no one calls Nicki out for her trash.

    • AubreyOSlay December 3, 2014

I know what you’re trying to do and it won’t work. I don’t think the average Iggy fan thinks she’s better than Nicki, I think they prefer her to Nicki but they don’t think she’s better.

  10. S****** Blonde December 3, 2014

You mad….Elvis the King of Rock & Roll, Eminem the Rap God, JT the Prince of Pop. The power of that pigment…..Plays: Black or White by Jacko.

    • MDNA2014 December 3, 2014

Your comment speaks volumes. Do you think that music exists in a vacuum? There is clear and blatant racism going on.
For example, Usher is flopping because he is a flop and nobody cares about him, BUT can you explain why Jazmine Sullivan’s label have never made her a priority even though she makes the same music as Adele?
Or, can you explain why Forbes decided Iggy was the Queen of Hip Hop because she released one single that did well?

      • S****** Blonde December 3, 2014

I support good music, not matter the artist’s ethnicity, i could care less, this whole argument is stupid, i know racist exist but is white artist’s fault if they have more succest, do they have to feel bad for that?.

      • MDNA2014 December 3, 2014

They have more success because the record labels MAKE SURE they have success by giving them bigger budgets than the black people who make the same music. That’s the point.

  11. Bey-Minaj December 3, 2014

No lies detected. Cole is as real as it gets.I’m copping his album.

  12. BaddieBey December 3, 2014

Hip Hop music was born from the black experience and came from what black people were going through because they were being attacked. Nobody wants to take that into consideration when people talk about Hip Hop.
So if you know your music is born from a place of pain and a REAL experience, it would be annoying and hurtful when someone who is the same color as the people who bully you takes your culture and sound and is put on a pedestal for doing it.

Eminem is very talented but he is where he is because AC radio were happy to play his music. Why do you think that is? He’s just as much of a rapper as Jay Z who NEVER got played on Pop radio before he started working with Beyonce.

The one I feel sorry for is Iggy, her credibility has gone out of the window so many times so much to the point she’s never going to be taken seriously.

  13. Britney Stan December 3, 2014

You people are too much. What’s the big deal?

  14. DEL BEY December 3, 2014

so true! they love applauding whites who strive in the rap game but they won’t allow black people to strive in the pop lane, and no rhi and bey don’t count, they light skin, where are all the DARK pop stars? I mean azealia banks dark, they won’t allow black people to thrive in the mainstream unless it’s ‘urban’ influenced SMH

    • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

Light skin? Jesus, do you people even read what the things you write? You complain endlessly about racism, yet you yourselves are by far the most racist people out there. Not only are you racist against Whites, but you’re racist against your OWN people just because they might have a slightly less dark skin complexion? News flash: They are still BLACK.

      • Naomi December 3, 2014

But that’s now how the industry sees it, I think that’s what Del Bey was getting at.

  15. Mark111 December 3, 2014

But genres are so mixed up now that everyone is hopping in different categories. The question should be os why Blacks don’t support good rappers and singers anymore. Hip hop and r&b has gotten so watered down that Whites can just slide right in. Em jad to be one of the best to get his foot in this, plus his lil stunts. Now people like Uggly can just have a catchy hook and call herself a rapper. Same with Nicki, her and Wayne aren’t bringing anything new.

    • Brian310 December 3, 2014

That is my point!!!…its like we expect for white people to support our artist and theirs, if you want to see change go and support the talents like J. Cole or Jazmine Sullivan and other talented acts that deserve the sales and stop complaining about how you feel another race isn’t supporting them….no one had this issue in the 90s because blacks actually bought music and all genres were able to succeed

  16. Applause December 3, 2014

Iggy will win a Grammy and y’all will seeth.

    • DanYiel Teflon December 3, 2014

Lol I like Iggy so I won’t mind!!

    • AubreyOSlay December 3, 2014

Actually she will seethe when she’s forced to deal with all the negative press. You didn’t see her album sales honey? She hasn’t got any hardcore loyal fans to ride with her if she goes through a major scandal so what’s she going to do if the press attacks her for winning a Grammy she doesn’t deserve and then has her lyrics scrutinized?

      • Kingofhearts December 3, 2014

Album sales clearly don’t matter anymore. Taylor swift was the ONLY one to go platinum this year. She moved over 400k which is better than aloooooot of other acts this year.

      • DontPhunkWithMyFerg December 3, 2014

“Album sales don’t matter,” So Iggy knew her album was gonna flop when she was promoting it? Please, album sales DO Matter because labels pay top dollar for the best studios, writers and engineers to make those albums who sales you say don’t matter.

  17. DanYiel Teflon December 3, 2014

I check for J.Cole cuz he’s real about his words!!

  18. Kingofhearts December 3, 2014

So black people such as Beyonce, usher, Rihanna, nicki minaj can make POP music but when white people rap “black” music it’s a problem. Some of y’all’s faves biggest hits are when they went POP. It’s just music. That’s like white people getting mad if a black person wants to do country music. You don’t hear them going “he wants to be white so bad” or “he’s a disgrace to country music” . You blacks are coming off just as racist as the whites. Bye.

    • BeyBeyKing December 3, 2014

If you knew what you were talking about you would know that those artists you’ve mentioned had to fight tooth and nail to get play on Pop radio while white artists don’t have to fight tooth and nail to get on Pop and Hip Hop radio.

Bey hasn’t had a #1 in five/six years because Pop radio won’t support her anymore.

      • Kingofhearts December 3, 2014

Just because it didn’t go number one dosent mean it wasn’t a hit

      • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

B!itch please! Fight tooth and nail? Rihanna has had what? 11/12 #1 hits? Oh yes the radio is TOTALLY racist. Thighyonce has NEVER been a singles artist just Celine Dion. You don’t hear Caucasians crying over that fact do you? Celine Dion has still sold over 200 million albums and is one of the richest female musicians, as is Bey.

    • S****** Blonde December 3, 2014

    • Mark111 December 3, 2014

Pop isn’t owned by Whites nor are they’re sounds are white. Mj and Janet made pop music, so did a LOT of Blacks back in the day. Pop mean popular, so you have no point here. #Sit

      • Kingofhearts December 3, 2014

You clearly haven’t heard of ABBA and other acts. POP MUSIC. Study music history beyond Michael Jackson. Therefor you have you have no point. Nice try tho

      • Mark111 December 3, 2014

“Pop music (a term that originally derives from an abbreviation of “popular”) is a genre of popular music, which originated in its modern form in the 1950s, deriving from rock and roll. The terms “popular music” and “pop music” are often used interchangeably, even though the former is a description of music which is popular (and can include any style).”

Where you think Rock n Roll came from? Sit the f uck down. The artist you name took NOTHING from some wack ass ABBA, even when Motown predates them. Pop is anything that is popular, just like in 1999 Latin music was pop for a sec, in the mid 2000’s R&B was pop and so was all these pop rock singers.

Beyonce, usher, Rihanna, nicki minaj still have their core sound, at least with their vocal style. Fake is Uggly and Nick Jonas who was doing pop and all the sudden they’re hip hop and r&b.

    • DEL BEY December 3, 2014

that’s the thing, you’ll never find a Black Country artist because the higher ups won’t allow such a violation of the status quo, there are tons of Black Country artists that will never make it, but plenty of white folk who will strive in black music artistry

    • The Truth December 3, 2014

  19. Unbiased December 3, 2014

I can’t stand Eminem, but he does always give credit to those that came before him. He has cited LL Cool J, and Treach from Naughty By Nature Eminem has said repeatedly he wouldn’t have been this successful if he was black. I love Cole, but he don’t want to see Eminem in a freestyle battle.

  20. SugahMama December 3, 2014

A lot of ignorant comments on here I see.
I know it’s hard to understand hard to believe but black people WERE attacked, murdered, killed and tortured for being black. They developed a culture to respond to what they were going through and that culture (which has some good and bad parts) was attacked by those in power because it spoke about what THEY were doing to them.

Think about what when you accuse black people of complaining too much or being suspicious of people like Iggy or Macklemore.

    • Toohotfortv December 3, 2014

I’m so curious about the person who would down vote your comment. Lol

    • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

You mean previous generations were attack, murdered, killed, and tortured for being black. All the uninformed, uneducated, entitled, whiners of this generation have faced NOTHING of the sort. In fact they’re too busy acting like the bigots of the past when it comes to Whites, gays, and women to see the real world.

  21. Mark111 December 3, 2014

For people that think Pop is White music.

“Dubstep /ˈdʌbstɛp/ is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London, England. It emerged in the late 1990s as a development within a lineage of related styles such as 2-step garage, broken beat, drum and bass, jungle, dub and reggae.[1] In the UK the origins of the genre can be traced back to the growth of the Jamaican sound system party scene in the early 1980s.”

    • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

And all modern music can be traced to the European symphonies (made by Whites) of the 18th/19th centuries. Your point?

  22. OVODasher December 3, 2014

Put it this way, if you saw a black guy rapping on a street corner wearing a hoodie you would call him ghetto because that’s the image society has of black people and urban music.
Ask yourself this, would you still call the person ghetto if they were white, rapping the SAME song and wearing the same hoodie? No you wouldn’t. At worst you’d call them white trash which doesn’t hold the same baggage that being called ghetto does.

  23. RitaBot December 3, 2014

I agree these black artist are coming off very racist towards Iggy . Y’all hate cause she’s white and winning in rap

    • OVODasher December 3, 2014

Then can you explain Robin Thicke’s success in R&B? Or Jon B’s in the 90s?

      • okay then December 3, 2014

Robin Thicke’s had one really successful song with 2 other artists.
On his own… how many hits has he had? I cant name one. So he hasn’t had great success I wouldn’t say.

      • tyler December 3, 2014

Isn’t it interesting that everyone accepts racism exists but struggle to give examples of WHERE it exists even when it’s right in front of their eyes.

  25. Queenriah December 3, 2014

But its not a problem when Nicki is singing corny pop songs like starships and pound the alarm when she’s supposed to be a hard core rapper from Brooklyn

    • Lana Del Bae December 3, 2014

That’s because people the same color as Nicki have never persecuted the people who usually make that music. Which part of DISCRIMINATION don’t you understand?

Do you not understand that white people persecuted black people and their culture in the past?

When people think of black suffering they think of the worst kind of black people and use their actions to defend their prejudice.

    “Oh they kill each other.”
    “Oh they have ghetto names.”
“Oh they don’t have an education.”

Even IF every single black person did those things they come as a direct response to the trauma they suffered because of slavery.

This is not an excuse (cos I hate black or white criminals just as much as a black or white criminal does) but it’s an explanation as to why black people have such a negative image of themselves.

This is where things get f***** up. Even though statistics are yet to prove any link between a person’s DNA and crime, society has tied Black people to crime, welfare and poverty and will ignore or silence anybody brave enough to kick the status quo in the balls.

So imagine how mad you’d be if someone is judging you for something and then celebrates another person for doing the same thing just because they’re white.

Minus Em I completely agree with him.

  31. December 3, 2014

well it is what it is.

  32. Eclectech December 3, 2014

He didn’t lie. Sometimes the truth hurts. That said, I don’t dislike Eminem or Iggy. Not a fan of Justin tho, after the way he distanced himself from Janet after BraGate

  33. Jake December 3, 2014

    I see no lies

  34. DontPhunkWithMyFerg December 3, 2014

“People hate white people for making R&B music.”

That’s funny, because I haven’t heard anyone accuse Fergie or stealing anything, nor did I hear anyone accuse Gwen of the same thing when she did Luxurious.

    • Toohotfortv December 3, 2014

I don’t think its a general blanket feeling of “if you’re white and do black music, black people will hate you.” Not at all. There are tons of singers and artist who identify with there own experience as white people and also identify with, and respect, the black experience. When we can perceive the difference, it makes a difference. Michael McDonald, hall & oats, steve perry, even Eminem (although I’m not a fan) give reverence and show respect to the origins of their sound. And accordingly, they are often given “a pass”.

Beyonce’s new Beyonce: More Only (EP) struts in at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 with 71,000 units. The digital set includes only the new bonus material (new songs, remixes and videos) that was added to the deluxe reissue of her self-titled album. The new EP sold 43,000 albums, but also garnered 25,000 in TEA and another 3,000 in SEA.

On the Top Album Sales chart, the Beyonce: More Only (EP) launches at No. 17.

The diva’s self-titled album also scoots up both lists, thanks to its expanded reissue. On the Billboard 200, Beyonce rises 199-39 (25,000 units), while on the Top Album Sales chart, it vaults 199-37 (22,000 album sales; up 713 percent).

You’re ridiculous lol. J. Cole has actually had 2 number one ALBUMS! So, umm… what were you saying?

  38. ~The Arcade~ December 3, 2014

You’re darn right he has a point!!! Everybody knows this by now. The pioneers of hip hop culture and newer artists like J. Cole are now pushed to the side, only for these culture vultures to reap the benefits. This is particular evident with the AMA’s who have consecutively awarded Eminem with the best rapper nod, up until iggys win last week. smh

  39. DEL BEY December 3, 2014

People are so naive these days, that includes all of us on here, the world as we know it is run by OLD MONEY aka S**** MONEY, so if old money rules this world (including the music biz) it means it’s RACIST MONEY ruling the world, therefore creating an INVISIBLE prejudice against anyone of colour, I strongly believe there is a shadow hand moulding the history books as we speak, I strongly believe the ‘powers that be’ bought adeles album in bulk, I also believe they’ve been buying Taylor swifts album because in 100 years time when they look back, it will be the Taylor’s and adeles seems as the rulers of music, over taking Michaels and whitneys sales until they are hardly spoken of again

    • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

Someone forgot to take their schizophrenic pills this morning.

  40. 1InAMillion December 3, 2014

We can go back and forth all day so I’ll say this.
CHEATERS will never prosper. You can fool yourself all you want but Iggy is feeling the aftermath of her trickery and it isn’t going to end anytime soon.
They can give her all the awards in the world and give her all the titles they can think of but NOTHING beats credibility and she hasn’t got ANY.

I won’t get mad about it, I’ll just support good music and (unlike some people) base my judgment of that music on how good it is, not the color of the person making it.

  41. KayyBabyy December 3, 2014

I don’t understand why music is becoming a race thing for Cole. Comparing Em to Elvis is way out of left field. Elvis was a privileged white man who found the opputunity to steal music from the pain of the “poor blacks”. Em was not privileged and knows the pain of living in poverty and fighting to realize his dream. Is that not what rap is about? And JT has always had an urban sound, he grew up in Tenesse, what do expect? Cole is so lame for even sparking at this discussion. He’s an amazing rapper who doesn’t have to talk out his aaa and start beef just to sell a record.

    • 1InAMillion December 3, 2014

I agree with you re Em sis.

      • Toohotfortv December 3, 2014

You are literally speaking from your b***. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. First of all, Elvis absolutely did not come from privilege. Secondly, saying that Justin’s link to Tennessee is a direct correlation to his “urban sound”… well child, that’s just laughable. I guess we could say the same thing of Miley Cyrus. Do yoy know that Tennessee is the country music capital of the world. And honestly, I’m not sure if I’d call anything about Tennessee “urban”, but I deduce what you really mean with the term “urban” is actually “black”. Gtfoh with that!

  42. 1InAMillion December 3, 2014

And another thing, I want to shout out white people who can recognize that racism exists.

    • OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

      As does reverse-racism.

  43. #TeamTinashe Stan December 3, 2014

People forget the important things about being a rapper and I don’t care if Justin Timberlake and Eminem are talented but they still are NO different than Elvis Presley they’re all appropriating our culture but when shįt gets real you never hear any of them, just saying.
    J. Cole is a young legend in my opinion. Just incredible I have two of his album and will definitely be getting this on the day of!
Best Hip Hop rapper right now imo!

    • Brian310 December 3, 2014

What JT, Iggy, MackLemoore and Em are doing is not comparable to Elvis at all…he stole actual music that wasn’t released from artist and took credit for it which those artist(because they never released their work) didn’t receive anything…none of those that I mentioned have stolen songs from anyone and none are appropriating our culture, Em has his own style and his lyrics for the demographic he targets, Macklemoore is talking about real life situations that many can relate to, Justin has always had urban undertones in his work and voice, and Iggy grew up around southern music it wasn’t like she flew from Australia, got a record deal within a few months and started rapping with a southern swag, she lived in that environment for years. If we are going to get on these people then we should also shame those artist that steals concepts for their videos from others (Bey isn’t the only one), steal ideas for their concerts or looks from others, etc etc.

  44. QueenCeline December 3, 2014

Iggy Azalea’s career is a wrap. This isn’t even shade. She’s not selling albums or EPs and her label HAVE to be seeing all the things people are saying about her.

  45. blue December 3, 2014

im sorry but this is just too funny, this white artist you are accusing of selling black music, are selling it to people who where never going to buy it from a black artist, in fact this artist you all putting down are actually bridging the gap a lil.

Basically black people are mad that white people are selling their music to white people, i think they should be more mad as to why their own people wont support them.

    • QueenCeline December 3, 2014

“As to why their own don’t support them.”

Receipts that black people don’t support black artists please.

      • Brian310 December 3, 2014

Just go and look at how urban singles and albums sale compared to pop artist.

  46. MileyRider December 3, 2014

Who cares this black nigg3r and these other nappy nigg3rs are jokes anyway. Eminem is the true King and Iggy is Queen of hop hop, Justin Timberlake King of R&B, Ariana Grande Queen of R&B bitchessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sure in hell is treated like a black man…in America. So whats your point???

  48. Lmfao_Hoe December 3, 2014

Cole didn’t say no lies ! I love Em but truth be told there are plenty of other black rappers (underground/underated/unsigned) that could out rap him. JT is Usher’s understudy, and would have never blown up again if it wasn’t for Pharrell and Timbaland (black men) and has copied everything from Usher,Prince, and MJ. Elvis was the first culture vulture to Black men, the powers that be made him a iconic figure simply because they refused to have their white daughters fall for black musicians then –> Chuck Berry, Little Richard, James Brown, Ray Charles, and Jackie Wilson ect. Motown male acts

Maaannnn, this is why J. Cole is my favorite rapper in the game right now. He isnt afraid to speak his mind, he is socially conscious like Pac.

I see absolutely no lies in his comment. White artist have always had the Complexion, for the Protection, to get the Collection.

You sound ignorant, it’s clearly not about talent. He’s just trying to point out a systemic issues with record labels and the buying public. I don’t necessarily Agee with him lumpimg Em, JT, and Epvis with the likes of an Iggy and Macklemore.

  55. Thlly December 3, 2014

    • tyler December 3, 2014

      J. Cole, Tupac, and Ice Cube for me. Spots 4 and 5 are still open lol

  56. OMG Logic!!! December 3, 2014

As long as Black people continue to use “racism” as an excuse for every obstacle in their lives, TRUE racism will never end.

    • tyler December 3, 2014

No, if white people would acknowledge that they have an inferiority complex, thats deprived from their insecurities, then maybe…just maybe true racism will end. Too bad that’s not going to happen any time soon.

  57. Pat December 3, 2014

I’ve sad it once before and I will sat it again. Black people are just as racist as whites, and the only thing keeping racism alive is different races pulling the race card!

    • Pat December 3, 2014

      *say

    • tyler December 3, 2014

So, you don’t feel like Black people have the right feel any sort of animosity, towards their OPPRESSORS, at all what so ever!?

      • Pat December 3, 2014

@Tyler, please shut the hell up. If you are over the age of 21 and don’t see how the media is brain washing you then I feel sorry for you. This whole race thing is a joke, it’s going on 2015 get real. It’s all about money and power! Racism, diseases, etc are what drives america which is why China will soon surpass us!

      • tyler December 3, 2014

I beg your pardon? Yeah, its a joke all right when you’ve been privileged enough to not have to deal with it.

Joke my ass! White people fear blacks. No not because they are “thugs” but because whites know who blacks really are.

If you’re so superior why do you abuse these inferior beings? If race isnt a big deal then why did whites build a system to make sure these inferiors stay where they trapped them? I look at stray dogs as inferiors and if anything I toss them my leftovers. I don’t kick them, spit on them and hang them, or follow oppress them for YEARS.

Blacks have accomplished much more throughout history than they dont get credit for. Whites have stolen so much throughout history just to further their delusion of being superior it’s rather pathetic.

        So whats your f****** issue????

  58. Pat December 3, 2014

I’m so sick of this white and black stuff!

  59. Naomi December 3, 2014

I agree with him. It’s to bad some brainwashed sheep in here are too ignorant to see it.

  60. CATFISH CAREY December 9, 2014

    Lol

  61. Donnell December 9, 2014

As a black guy I like Iggy and Eminem but I don’t what J Cole ever made but i know I don’t wanna here anything he ever made, because he sucks with his racism. I don’t don’t racist of any color.
