As reported earlier today, a multitude of sources confirmed the saddening news that singer Kelly Rowland‘s mother had passed away.
Now, the R&B songbird is opening up on the loss of Doris Rowland Garrison – who was 66.
Her heartfelt words below…
In a statement issued to E! via her publicist, Rowland said:
“It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Doris Rowland Garrison. She was an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices so that I could become the woman—and now mother—I am today. We humbly appreciate all the love and support and only ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
Speaking on her mother back in 2007, the Grammy winner (who gave birth to her first child, son Titan, less than a month ago) beamed:
When we had rough times in Houston, you did your best to balance our family with your job as a live-in nanny. And I know it was difficult for you to run me back and forth for rehearsals after I joined Destiny’s Child.
I spent a lot of nights at the Knowles’ house. Soon a month turned into a year, then years. You came by every day, though, and cooked dinner, and we’d all eat as a family. It was because of your strength and sacrifice that I was able to dream so big.
Heartbreaking.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with Kelly and family.

My mother isnt even dead and i was in tears earlier just thinking the thought of my mom not being here! She is my bestfriend n i cant imagine life without her! I lost my aunt almost a yr ago and her death was so tough for me! We were so close… I know it will only be worse if tht was my mother! Kelly please be strong and just know god makes NO MISTAKES! We didnt come on this earth to stay… We all r just passing through! We all got 2 go one day! U will see her again one day as long as you believe in the almighty God! U will never get over this but u can get past this! I love you Kellz… I just want u to know dont spend too much thinking about your mom bcuz she is fine! 3 weeks after giving birth… A blessing that Doris Rowland got to meet her grandchild but heart breaking that it was only for a short amount of time 🙁

Thats sad. But Kelly always made out Miss Tina was more of a mother to her than her real mom.
She never said that , plus her mom was still in her life , her mom use to come over Tina’s Beyonce moms house and help her cook and spend time with Kelly and the girls
Reading is fundamental. I never said she said it, but she ‘made out’ that was the case in so many words. I’ve never heard Kelly praise her mother in the way she did with Tina.
