Each individual member of 2NE1 is literally as famous and idolized in Asia as Beyonce or Katy Perry or Taylor Swift are in the western world. There’s no comparison to be made. At all.

They have a version of their 2011 single “Can’t Nobody” in English. They also have two tracks in English they did with Will.I.Am in 2013 – “Gettin’ Dumb” & “Take The World On”.
As a solo artist, CL has a new track in English ft. Diplo called “Revolution”. Think that’s all the English tracks they have so far but if you really wanna get into them just go watch (and be slayed by) their biggest hit “I Am The Best”. It’s in Korean but it’s that flawless, it doesn’t even matter tbh.
They have a few plus features with Will.I.Am, but CL is debuting in America with an English album next year with a 2NE1 album to follow if she succeeds.
But Fifth Harmony sing much better than they do.

Girl get over yourself. I’m a fan of Little Mix but apart from Move nothing else caught on from Salute. They make good music and have great group chemistry but if they keep relying solely on Internet standom for worldwide sales they will be gone faster than a flap of Wings. Same can be said for 5H which has a bigger fanbase but crappier material.

Honestly as much as I love 2ne1 (specifically bom and cl), I will be very surprised if they do well. When have we ever seen a major Asian star? This country is racist as hell. It’ll be a challenge. That’s for sure. I’ve said it before. There are singers and dancers from the east that rival our stars talent with ease. For instance, regine velasquez is like mariah and celine wrapped in one person. Why is she not a huge star?

Living in the digital age, physical sales only show the strength of the fandom + as Jeremy Scott has said before, SNSD have 9 members so just their families buying the albums would be enough, add to that collecting all their photocards , the sales would add up. However, digital sales reflect a song’s popularity with the general public which 2NE1 achieve 5+ million sales with just CRUSH. Oh and 2NE1’s CRUSH sold 5000 copies in the US while Mr.Mr. sold a few thousand. Stay salty~
