ONCE AGAIN! She kills it! She is so underrated and I honestly don’t understand why she is. She is just as talented as Adele and Sam Smith.

True… But she’s black… If another artist put this out they’d be the second coming… Jazmine is amazing and I’m so glad she decided to continue recording bc I know at one point she said she’d stop

SO I LISTENED AND ITS VERY VERY UNDERWHELMING. SHE SLAYS VOCALLY BUT HER MUSIC NEEDS WORK. THE BEST SONGS ARE FOREVER DON’T LAST, VEINS, MASCARA AND LET IT BURN. EVERYTHING ELSE IS FORGETTABLE. REALLY GIRL YOU WAITED 5 YEARS FOR THIS?

You are just a hater. This entire album is better than 99% of all the albums released in 2014 #HaveSeveralSeats

Umm if anything she expanded her sound for the better. But pls look up what she said about the album and why she titled it “reality show”

    “Masterpiece (Mona Lisa)” alone >>>>>>

    • MUTHA2UHOES January 7, 2015

NOT. THE PRODUCTION IS CHEAP AND THE CURSING WASNT NEEDED. HER FIRST ALBUM WILL FOREVER BE HER BEST. SHE WON’T GET THOSE GRAMMYS SHE WANTS SO BAD WITH THIS ALBUM “LIVE A LIE” FROM HER FIRST ALBUM SHITS ON THIS ENTIRE ALBUM LOL.
      MASTERPIECE LIVE VERSION > STUDIO

You are right about masterpiece, her live version is better. But overall her writing on this album is amazing and her vocals are incredible. She deserves a grammy, at least in the R&B category. ‘Brand New’ is the stand out song for me.

SHM You guys are so used to trash music that you can appreciate real R&B anymore. Anyone who isn’t Dumb would appreciate a masterpiece like “Reality Show”. This album is truly a work of art and I’ll fight anyone who says it isn’t.

Always been a fan! Stuttering, holding you down, lions tigers and bears are my all time favorites. She is absolutely genius and a threat to the majority. My only issue I have with her is her sound has been the same since day 1. I’m not saying she should conform too today’s sound. I just feel like she isn’t giving us all of her. I want something that will have a worldwide appeal!!!

This Album is EVERYTHING…. It’s nothing like her others and she still slays vocally and the writing is on point. I pray she gets the recognition she finally deserves,

I love Jazmine but her first album remains her most solid album to date. It’s like we get getting a water washed version of the debut, and while the 2nd album was solid, this album will have to grow on me. Spare me the “hater” crap as everyone doesn’t have the same taste. Her vocals are amazing, it just seems like we heard this before from her. There are a couple of unreleased songs that she’s had, that are better than the best songs on this album. I’ll still buy the album to add to my collection.

Although i am really pleased with this album and plan to support, i do agree with your comment about the unreleased songs. She could easily compile a critically acclaimed masterpiece of an album with her unreleased stuff. “in Vain” “catalog girl” and “if this is love” are all huge records.

      no.

I get what she was trying to do theme-wise, but the execution is poor. There really arent any standout tracks for me. Jazmine is capable of so much more…, 🙁

  10. ~The Arcade~ January 8, 2015

Jazmine did it this time… every song on there was sonically pleasing to my ears, vocally (obviously) and in terms of production.

Okay, so the live version of Mona Lisa is much better than this.
I think that the issue is that Jazmine needs to make more of a commercial album and have less littered with the N and swear words as her vocal slaughter doesn’t fit into some of the mold of her songs. I think that Jazmine needs to look at Fantasias route.
This album is not cohesive although the songs are good. I’m going to need Jazmine to get into the studio with her regular writers and produces and throw in som Emilie Sande (Fantasia side effects of you) Sia, Diane Warren, Ryan Tedder, Sallam Remi to name a few. There is no doubts that she can sing and her voice is good but she needs to aim for good commercial songs to take her to the next level

I agree that some black artists have not enough success cause mainstream doesn´t support them. But you are really trying it with the Adele comparison. This album is good and it deserves more success than what it is going to get, but Adele´s music is definitely better than this, there´s something so universal about Adele´s music and voice.
PS: the best song is Masterpiece. It is amazing.

  13. King January 8, 2015

I feel like people will find fault with this album because she is storytelling and not just writing about heartbreak. People like music that is easily digestible and doesn’t cause them to think. Jazmine has grown immensely since her last album especially as it pertains to songwriting. This album is a breath of fresh air in R&B because artists tend to focus on production and not on the lyrics, they just want something catchy that people can sing along with. I love that Jazmine threw all that aside and made an ALBUM, not just a collection of songs.
