Alexandra Burke bills herself as a beast on the stage and it appears she is now gearing up roar back onto the charts.

Today saw the ‘Bad Boys’ belter lift the lid on her much touted EP, which serves as her first body of work since leaving Sony’s RCA Records in 2013.

Writing on her official website, the 2008 X Factor UK winner said:

Hey Guys and Girls x x

First of all.. HAPPY NEW YEAR! hope this year is filled with love and joy for you all…

2015 is already looking to be a great year and I cannot wait to share my newest chapter with you all.

It’s been a crazy few months for me as I’ve been in the studio writing and recording my EP and album. As you guys have been one of my greatest inspirations for the new music (not to mention my biggest supporters), I wanted to let you know first that my new EP will be released in March 2015.

I can reveal that the EP is called
‘R E N E G A D E ’

This EP is extremely close to my heart. It marks what is set to be a new chapter for me both personally and artistically. I have worked extremely hard on this, there has been laughter, tears and sweat. Renegade touches upon themes and experiences that I have never spoken out about before. Since the last album, a lot has changed in my life, but most importantly I have changed. I’m in a great place, healthier and stronger than ever.

I feel as an artist its important for one’s music to grow with them. I’m now twenty-six and having taken time out of the musical ring, I now have the gloves firmly back on.

My music, my rules.

Thank you for being patient with me. I can assure you I have put everything into this; this EP is a thank you to you all for sticking by me.

Kudos to Alex for ploughing through the politics and pressing on. We’re keen to hear what she’s been cooking up.

That said, while an indie EP is cool for now, we’re hoping there is some major label activity in her future. Alex is a premium talent that deserves a premium platform and a premium push; something a major is well equipped to handle.

In the meanwhile, roll on March.

Jesus sometimes those artists take themselves wayyyy to seriously just say “My s*** is coming out in March hope you h*** buy it” no need for those damn recycled essay about the album being your most personal yet

She had so much potential but got very big headed with her second album and left to join another label as she thought they wasn’t taking her too seriously. Album comes out and bombs selling 7K its opening week. She has a great voice but too big for her boots. Doubt she will be big in the UK again
