A month has passed since D’Angelo sprung a surprise on the masses with the release of his first album in fifteen years, ‘Black Messiah’.
Following the set’s deviation from the traditional means of promotion, the soul-filled crooner has shunned TV appearances in favour of preparing for a series of lives dates across the US and UK this Spring.
However, this weekend saw singer debut a number of the LP’s song’s on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
Backed by his band, The Vanguard, the star turned in an impressive showing.

His new album is my favorite album of 2014! He still has every bit of musicianship as he did in the 90’s.
D’Angelo has always been full of talent but his physical appearance is what became his downfall after the Voodoo era besides alleged drug use among other things.
