LOL nope I believe your referring to ’03’ Bonnie & Clyde’ and Toni Braxtons ‘Me & My Boyfriend’ which both sample 2pacs ‘Me & My Girlfriend’. The original is 2pac’s so I can’t with people talking about stealing a sample of original work, if anything’s been stolen its been from 2pac himself since he’s not alive to sign off the rights to his music and decide who uses it. They both obviously got the rights to it from 2pacs estate and his publishing were already made aware that two artists intended to use it, so it was a matter of who released it first – Toni had the opportunity to do so but she waited for it to be a second single, and didn’t expect Jay-Z’s to be popular. It’s fair play, and its typical cattiness for Toni to direct her anger at Beyonce who featured on the song, instead of Jay-Z (who obviously signed off on the sample before even securing a featured artist)

The song is cute but Rich Harrison is like Pharrel and Timb. He has a distinct sound. He produced Get Right for J Lo which came 2 years after CIL and also has that same sound. Beyonce giving him the biggest hit of his career does not mean she was watching Amerie when Amerie was the one dancing like a puppet for Beyonce in the early stages anyway.

Not bad, but I am wondering how this fits the 2015 landscape, especially for an artist who hasn’t been relevant for nearly 10 years. It’s a great album cut and a decent 2nd or 3rd single, but not that breakout comeback hit she needs.
