Having dominated the Pop landscape with the inescapable ‘Talk Dirty’ and its follow-up efforts, Jason Derulo is back with new single ‘Want To Want Me.’

The lead release from the star’s fourth studio album, the track was premiered on iHeartRadio moments ago.

As ever, That Grape Juice has you covered. Take a listen below…

A solid Pop record.

Although, the striking similarities to the recent output from the likes of Maroon 5 and, to a lesser extent, One Direction, the track’s Pop-i-er lean is particularly interesting given that it follows ‘Talk Dirty’ – the album.

For, the said LP was clearly Derulo’s most marked attempt at cracking the “Urban” arena; something he appears to have achieved – at least on the surface.

That said, after being vocal about the snubs he’s received from some corners of the “Urban” higher-ups, it sounds as if Jason is re-embracing the sound he has achieved the most success with – Pop with light R&B sprinklings.

Sounds good, I can see the Maroon 5 comparisons not the One Direction, there sound is more pop folk. I can see this slaying the charts.

      yeah cos it’s mainstream B.S.
And this j****** has the nerve to ask BET why they boycott him every year.
CHILE, GO TO SLEEP FOR LIFE!!

So just because he’s black hes suppose to sing tired R&B and work with the same producers and idiotic rappers as the rest. Not everyone likes that kind of music and I’m glad he’s doing something different. The BET awards should acknowledge him instead and the diversity that black male artist can slay mainstream with Pop instead of giving the same awards to fishtopher and the same fools every year.

F****** trash as usual with Deruler.

    Why is he still active?
He needs to retire and bring Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Flo Rida with him.

    I like what I heard.

I like the fact he’s not afraid to change things up, that’s why he’s still around after 5 years.

Lol he does the same s*** every time, he juste follows the trends.
Thinking he’s as a risk-taker is the most hilarious thing I’ve read today.

The verse sounded ok, as it reminds me of Hold On We’re Going Home, but the chorus makes the song sound over produced and corny. Also, the lyrics are so banal and don’t make any sense really. I don’t see this impacting any chart, but I do see Jordin somewhere laughing
