John Legend‘s Get Lifted Film Co. is to produce a yet-to-be-titled movie starring the singer Miguel, joining forces with the ‘Adorn‘ performer to bring the romantic drama to life.

Miguel will play a one hit wonder named Story whose love for music is reignited when he meets an aspiring singer who asks him to coach her in preparation for a singing competition.
Set to mark the first time the singers have collaborated on a visual release, Legend and Miguel will begin shooting the project in Philadelphia this September with the help of IM Global and Furst Film producers Sean and Bryan Furst.
The musical romantic drama, written by Taylor Cohen, will be the feature film directorial debut of video and commercials director Nabil Elderkin.
“Mike, Ty and I are really excited about producing our long time friend and collaborator Nabil Elderkin’s directorial debut,” said Legend in a statement. “He’s a major talent and being able to cast Miguel in the male lead puts us in the position to really build an incredible film with strong musical elements. We look forward to working with this dream team we’ve assembled to deliver something special.”
