New Song: Mariah Carey – ‘Infinity’

The wait is over!

Just three weeks before Mariah Carey unveils her newest greatest hits package ‘#1 To Infinity’ (May 18), she shows off its sole new cut – ‘Infinity.’

If you’re as excited as we are, tuck in below to hear the latest offering from the pop icon…

An infinite number of “no” from us.

An almost parodic, unorganized musical misstep that sounded more like someone trying to give their best MC impression, the song foully reeks of ‘Chanteuse’-leftover.  A disheartening truth when you listen to the greatest hits album as a whole and get your life to the assembly of some of the best pop/R&B songs over the past 20 years…and then you get to this.

It just doesn’t fit a bill that features hits like ‘My All,’ ‘Vision of Love,’ or even ‘We Belong Together’ and ‘Touch My Body.’ Another miss for Mimi.

Your thoughts?

    • Toohotfortv April 26, 2015

Oh ok… Anyway, tgj will read a bish for filth right. I swany.

      • BeyHive Militant April 27, 2015

        Urghhh…..sit down. Nobody is checking.

      • TruthSerum April 27, 2015

Vegas is the only good option for her at this point. She has lost it. Sorry, Mimi. You are stuck.

    • Junior in Jamaica April 26, 2015

No you don’t…don’t front this is garbage.

      • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

This will flop so hard. 🙁

      • TRAGIC MOMOOO April 27, 2015

        CLOSE THE DOOR, MAMA!

THIS SONG IS A MESS AND THE PRODUCTION IS KIND OF CHEAP.

        2 OUT OF 5*

      • Career Ender April 27, 2015

She lost it a long, long, long time ago when she began to refer to herself as a diva. She looked pretty with her natural dark hair, had a voice, but it is all about her now and has been for a long time. I personally can’t stand her due to her “all about me” diva attitude. Perhaps she and Ciara need to ride slowly, but surely, into the sunset and hand up the saddle.

      • AnnaliseKeatingsNewWig April 27, 2015

Ain’t none of business, it’s tea though.

      • Olynz April 27, 2015

This song is joke…like Riri’s B*tch…(whatever Money She Desperate To Earns ) …so annoying.

    • EDX April 27, 2015

Too self absorbed, snooty acting and immature. Still singing music for teenagers instead of for her own age demographic. And the album cover is clearly extremely photo shopped and airbrushed. She has enough money between her and her husband. She needs to stay home and take care of those funny looking kids. Her 1st album ( when she was hungry and trying harder ) was her best and I still play it. Now she’s lazy and boring. Perhaps she should try gospel next.

      • hehehehehe April 27, 2015

Ciara’s lessor is still trying while nobody is checking.

Goodluck in Vegas. You are done and forgotten, MooMoo.

      • Ciara the Flop April 27, 2015

The ONLY lessor Ciara has in the ENTIRE music industry is herself, and you must deal. Now, back to the Ms. Billboard Hot 100 Carey.

    • arfa April 27, 2015

      Mess

      • TheElusiveSmellyLamb April 27, 2015

This song is Triumphant Mess pt 2 !!!!!!

    • I STAN(D) IN LINE FOR HYDROQUINONE) April 27, 2015

      Chanteuse

    • Lana Del Fan *I Can Hear The Sirens* April 27, 2015

TGJ is a damn liar. This song is hot. I agree with you, Kemar

    • HaveMyMoney April 27, 2015

      No, No & NO.
Mariah You Sound A Damn Fool.
Damn Mariah Had I Known This Would Be What You Were Releasing In 2015 I Wouldve Spent A Little More Time Singing Your Classics (To Myself, In The Mirror) When I Was A Child.

    • ReadyorNot April 30, 2015

;-( It’s always a rollercoaster ride with mariah carey. i was on the edge of my sit excited for the first 15 seconds but as soon as she started singing it just went downhill.the flow, the lyrics all just dimsal. Really Mariah “Y U MAD” couldn’t you come up with better lyrics, concept.I mean the instrumental has so much potential.
For me the song started and ended at 27 seconds. i will not be checking for her again

  2. SlaveMaster April 26, 2015

    FLOPinity…

    • Elusive Flopteuse April 27, 2015

I stop listening after first chorus.

      • Career Ender April 27, 2015

She needs to stop trying to be a s** kitten at her age. It’s like her music was more mature at the beginning of her career, and has been regressing into pandering to the kids for the last 15 years. C’mon, Mariah, grow up again!

    • Kiah April 27, 2015

Both Madonna and Barbra Streisand have sold more than her, but they started way before soundscan (1990), but they have received certifications so its not very hard to figured out who has sold the most. This whole thing Mariah does to self-proclaim as the highest selling female of all time is a lie that she perpetuates by forcing all shows to announce her like this, otherwise she won’t show up…the last time she was announced as the highest selling SOLO artist! LOL so apparently she has sold more than Elvis, LIES!

      • TheElusiveSmellyLamb April 27, 2015

        thanks for sharing… 😀

  3. DTG April 26, 2015

    :snickers:
Who was actually waiting on this sh!t? Another mediocre song from this dated hasbeen. Add it to the stockpile and start a bonfire.

    • TheElusiveLamb April 26, 2015

Clearly you cyber sissy considering you came here and listened to the song before some of the Lambs…

      • Terny April 27, 2015

I know right?! Even I haven’t yet downloaded it yet..

    • #InfinityFact April 27, 2015

Her Generation has moved on most becoming Grand Ma’s Baby Ma-moms when she switched to a more Hip Hop Style. A big factor also is technology and how divided we get our music sources from today. She also does not have her first husband “Tommy” Mottola to pull the strings.

  4. SMH April 26, 2015

Meh. It’s ok, but the lyrics are too juvenile.

    • This Woman Is Tragic April 27, 2015

It is amazing how much photo shopping they do with her photos. They make her look taller than she actually is and take off about 30-40 pounds. I think she should start dressing like an adult woman in her 40’s instead of like a 19 year old girl.

  5. TheElusiveLamb April 26, 2015

    That’s my Queen! #MimiForever

    • This Woman Is Tragic April 27, 2015

      delusional…

    • B Scott’s Tampon April 27, 2015

Doesn’t help that she is annoying. 🙁

  6. king April 26, 2015

    damn this go hard

    • LMGAO April 27, 2015

u mean…on Bubbling Under chart on Billboard like JLo???

      • LMAO April 27, 2015

Ciara;s lesson is back, y’all. Lets the meltdown begins……

  7. Rancor April 26, 2015

Not only is this song BOOTY, it’s obviously gonna flop! ROFLMAO. Poor MC. She just doesn’t know when to let it go.

  8. Anastasia Beaverhousen (aka T.I.T.S.) April 26, 2015

Lol! ‘Everything you own, boy you still owe’!

I like it. Just doesn’t sound like a single to me.

    Maybe after a few listens.

It’s still better than most of the trash released this year…

    Good job Empress M!

  9. janet. April 26, 2015

    Slay b**** slay

  10. Annapolis April 26, 2015

    WERK MIMI

  11. DA Realest April 26, 2015

My girl said, Everything you own, you still owe. No wonder Nick trying to get 30 mil out the divorce.

    • Anastasia Beaverhousen (aka T.I.T.S.) April 26, 2015

That caught me too! She is reading Nicki his rights! LMAO!!

  12. The Princess of pop April 26, 2015

I love that she’s showcasing she is here to stay no matter what any one says. 8/10

  13. Yonce on your mouth April 26, 2015

Love it. It looks like she was shading the hell out of Nick her. Lol go mimi

  14. Tamar Braxton April 26, 2015

    SHE DID THAT

  15. NICKIMINAJ April 26, 2015

    Legendary

  16. #JACKIE April 26, 2015

    The song really sucks.

      • Lake Erie April 27, 2015

and 711 from Beyonce? Sounds like a midlife crises to me. She kicking 40 in the ass and she needs to face it. “Wave hands from to side to side” Lmao. Smh pathetic.

  17. Check Your Lipstick Before You Come & Talk To Me April 26, 2015

I am not a Mariah hater by any means. I genuinely want her to come back with a song/album/performances that compliment her legacy. Why on earth would she think this was a good song? The lyrics are fine, fairly juvenile… but is this a CLASSIC song? She is putting a #1’s album out and this is the best song they could come up with? This song has no chance of being a radio hit, I would like someone to explain to me how it possibly could be? Her voice sounded good on some parts, but not great on others. The quality of this song is terrible. If Mariah acts so “Diva” then come out swinging like one and don’t settle for this garbage that Jermaine or whoever is feeding her. This song is not current and is just not a good song.

  18. Yonce on your mouth April 26, 2015

I love the sound she used. It reminds me of the old mimi. I love and respect her a lot.

  19. THE iconic sade April 26, 2015

    POP CULTURE ICON!

  20. IcyOne April 26, 2015

    That was terrible.

  21. Al April 26, 2015

This is so hilariously terrible. She’s singing about food now??

  22. king April 26, 2015

i love how this site try’s to play like it supports mariah before the shade
    #queenmc #1toinfinity

  23. Anastasia Beaverhousen (aka T.I.T.S.) April 26, 2015

I’m in love with chorus! Mariah is music. <3

  24. Tron April 26, 2015

She better hope those pitiful Vegas casino dates break even, because this song is not a hit…

  25. eric April 26, 2015

Yes, yes, and yes!! Only part I don’t like is the “Infinity” part of the chorus; it sounds off.

  26. L21480 April 26, 2015

This is just bad. She’s completely lost it. I remember when “Loverboy” was her humiliation. This song wishes it was that.

  27. BEYRUNTHEWORLD April 26, 2015

Lmao this song is so bad it’s funny

  28. Roy April 26, 2015

    YAS MIMI YASSSSSS

200 million ALBUMS sold. Enough said.

    • SMH April 27, 2015

Lies. 170-175 million albums, half of them overcertified.

  29. BeyRihLiyah April 26, 2015

    i like it ,it’s a grower

  30. LB April 26, 2015

I love Mariah, I don’t like this song. Good luck

  31. CzarM April 26, 2015

    Wack.

    Tommy laughs…Celine laughs…Nick laughs…Nicki laughs…Eminem laughs…Katy laughs…Madonna laughs….JLo laughs…Christina laughs…Ariana laughs…the spirit of pre-“When You Believe” Whitney laughs. They all laugh at this.

    • Cough Cough April 27, 2015

She has more money than, and a more successful career than all of them though. Lol

      • Erotica April 27, 2015

        Definitely not more than Madonna…

    • Infinity April 27, 2015

With the big flop Madonna just had and she’s sucking the life outta people’s mouths…that old lady has NO ROOM AT ALL to laugh

    • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

Tommy is still on love with Mariah and the two have a mutual respect for each other. Céline is her BFF. Nick is posting and supporting the song. Nicki can’t laugh at anyone, but herself. How is it possible for a pack of M&M candy to laugh? Katy laughing at Mimi, yet she dedicates songs to her? Madonna isn’t laughing at anyone. She is probably congratulating Mimi like she has since 08. JLO listens and admires Mariah. She “wants to be Mariah’s friend.” Ariana would never be mean to her idol. Xtina career has been over since Back to Being A Basic, so please. _/ Why would pre spirit Whitney laugh when she has never had a problem with Mariah? I can definitely tell that you’re one of those extremely old bitter queens who has been stalking MC since made her debut when you were in your 30’s. Get over it.

      • Lake Erie April 27, 2015

I going through the shame s*** on one of my faves pages. You right, pure queens Lmao.

  32. Arc April 26, 2015

I love Mariah but this isn’t for me. I wish her all the best tho… she is a legend.

  33. ILOVEYOUMARIAHBUT April 26, 2015

I LOVE YOU MARIAH WITH MY ALL BUT THIS SONG IS JUST NOT GOOD I WAS EXPECTING WE BELONG TOGETHER PART 2 OR DONT FORGET ABOUT US PART 2 #BEAUTIFUL AND YOU’RE MINE (ETERNAL) WERE BETTER THAN THIS THEY SHOULDVE BEEN YOUR 19TH AND 20TH NUMBER ONES I WILL LISTEN TO IT A COUPLE MORE TIMES MAYBE IT WILL GROW ON ME IM STILL GETTING THE ALBUM THO ALL YOUR CLASSIC #1S TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE????? HELL YEA!

  34. REALLY April 26, 2015

POOR GIRL… this is not worthy of this collection of #1s.. and that last note….NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  35. Kyle April 27, 2015

This song is terrific. It’s a great original mix in the vein of “Touch my Body” and “We Belong Together.” The violins, the horns, the coo’s, the ooo’s, the aah’s, the cheeky lyrics, the heartfelt words – if you don’t like it, you don’t get it. Fall in love, break up and then revisit this song.

  36. Solange April 27, 2015

The lyrics are pure READ. READ EM HUN! #outthedoor

  37. EvaDiva April 27, 2015

    She’s so corny ewww

  38. Cough Cough April 27, 2015

Not in love but a decent track. If this is the sole song and sole single from this, it could have, and should have, been much stronger!

  39. Vandrea April 27, 2015

That was all kinds of awful. I’m sorry, but this woman needs to quit. This song just about exhausts what was left of the borrowed time she was on.

    • I STAN(D) IN LINE FOR HYDROQUINONE) April 27, 2015

      Chanteuse

  40. Terryb April 27, 2015

Now I’m the first one to shade Mariah but I don’t see anything wrong with this song. Besides doesn’t she have like 13 albums? You can’t get every song right…

  41. Nicki Is Queen April 27, 2015

No sorry. I was expecting her to SANG! It’s just meh.

  42. King B April 27, 2015

    I like it it’s cute!!!!

  43. Navy Gravy April 27, 2015

I’m not a hater so it will say that it actually was a good song. The production overrides her voice and that’s my only problem. I hope that she sees success with this song

  44. Cierror April 27, 2015

Those metaphors in the beginning are so cheap. “…Fritos”?? Really?

  45. Solange, the Sponge. April 27, 2015

I like it. That’s the only thing I can say. 7 out of 10.

  46. Meteorite April 27, 2015

I consider myself a devoted long term “Lamb” (Since Music Box FYI. And own everything Mariah, why I even went to Best Buy and bought Glitter when I was in the 8th grade and yes I still own it. Now that’s loyalty lol.) So I took a chance and blindly bought this song off iTunes without previewing, without reading the lyrics, nor even reading the reviews; nothing, just bought it because I love Mariah.
However, I must regret to inform you, the reader, that I do not like the song. In my opinion a song should not take multiple plays to determine whether or not if you will actually like the song. Generally you know right away. While the production isn’t bad (vaguely reminds me of the track “I Feel It”), the lyrics and her vocals are less than stellar. I understand Mariah is not vocally youthful anymore and that the voice does deteriorate with age, but her vocals on the …Elusive Chanteuse was far more superior then this.
Idk I’m just lost when it comes to Mariah, I miss the artistry of her older martial (The Butterfly album and back) I just need that old classic Mariah back for one more go…

    • Mar April 27, 2015

It seems that she has completely lost it. And the last album was… Mediocre… They way they chopped up her vocals on “Can’t Give Up Now”… Its all a joke now. Everything from Butterfly and before was Mariah Carey at her best. Whom ever is approving this s*** needs to be fired. Mariah lose you longing of fitting in with today’s market and go back to the basics minus the night gowns and dramatics.

  47. K bye April 27, 2015

Just sit down Grandmariah…. and stay in Vegas for good.

  48. Nooooo Stop It April 27, 2015

    Ciara’s lessor is back … 🙁

  49. TRU…. April 27, 2015

IDK what everyone else is talking about but this song is awesome the whole chill laid back vibe of it I love it this is like classic Mariah right here she read nick to filth and still served us a classic song it bopped wit me instantly it is a lil over produced but the whole songs vibe is so chill the best song to get over someone with so this is a hit in my eyes

  50. LOL April 27, 2015

    …..a leftover from her flopped K=FC2 ?????

  51. Music Lover~ April 27, 2015

“Answer the phone like who is this”, yes Mariah, I love it!!

  52. KeKe April 27, 2015

Yass Tisha you better troll like your life dependent on it????????

  53. moe April 27, 2015

Honestly i was really looking forward for this . But sorry this is trash . Sorry but u tried

  54. TRU…. April 27, 2015

The GP and haters are so backwards I tell ya you guys would trash a good song like this to filth but would bop and make songs Rihanna BBHMM, Beyoncé 7/11, and other songs like those hits I don’t get it especially when it comes to Mariah people give her the harshest criticisms and idk why she’s always brought good music to the table *sighs* oh well

  55. Gia April 27, 2015

    Cheesy overload…

  56. TruthSerum April 27, 2015

… even her photoshopped cover couldn’t cover up the fact that this song is a tragic mess.

  57. Ariannator #1 April 27, 2015

A tired and washed up old h**. Give it up, Mariah. You are a done deal.

  58. Career Ender April 27, 2015

I don’t know why a truly talented singer like Mariah has to play the s** appeal game. I know the demographic they are going for, but 40 year olds and older, like her, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and Jennifer Anniston, need to act their age. (When I saw Jennifer Lopez in that Miley Cyrus twerking pose with PitBull, I had to laugh.) They can still be s***, but should try being more demure and mature. Maybe they’ll be taken more seriously and not be looked at like some kind of a joke. Then again, I guess older people don’t buy as much music as kids so I guess they’re trying to hold on as long as they can.

    • Brandon April 27, 2015

I dunno what planet you’re from, but no one should be limited by their age. Stop discriminating and find you an old school radio station if you can’t change with the times. Don’t use your inhibitions and expectations to try and cripple other people. #SitDown

  59. Janet’s Left Tittie April 27, 2015

In the words of Mariah “Why You Mad?” Cos your f***** fav could NEVER! I cannot believe thatgrapjuice tried to turn the masses against this instant CLASSIC!!!!! I’m in love with this song and i will go as far as to say that i have not heard a song as good as this this year FANTASTIC!!! She went hard! 10/10

    • Shelly April 27, 2015

Seriously, it’s unbelievable! This is the best song I’ve heard all year!

      • Janet’s Left Tittie April 27, 2015

        Agreed!

  60. AJ April 27, 2015

This is definitely a left over from the Chanteuse era . The tragic thing is it sounds very early Mariah and very demo(ish). It sounds like something good Ariana Grande would sing at a Mariah tribute concert. It reminds me a lot of Triumphant – flop.

  61. #InfinityFact April 27, 2015

All star’s burn out eventually. 🙁

    • Shelly April 27, 2015

      Mariah Carey is a meteorite!

  62. Only (NICKIARA) April 27, 2015

    Predictions Top 80

    • Shelly April 27, 2015

      More like 19th #1!!

      • Career Ender April 27, 2015

        LOL…not even Top 20. This song…sucks.

        😆

  63. Failed April 27, 2015

Close the door, mama.. and wait for Ariana.

    • Shelly April 27, 2015

Mariah sings for the grown ups.

  64. Yohannis April 27, 2015

She is ovahhh. People aren’t buying the packaging anymore. Overly photoshopped cover pics, ridiculous self given nick-name (The Elusive Chanteuse) and that stupid picture they released of the back cover and tried to say that Mariah drew when she was three. People want some honesty in their music. Nice try, thou…

    • Shelly April 27, 2015

She had that drawing framed on her episode of Cribs way back.

  65. Infinity April 27, 2015

This is the same site that praised Beyoncé’s 7/11 so it’s no wonder they’ll trash a good Mariah song! Foh

  66. KeKe April 27, 2015

Okay Mimi i just need a killer video to go with this song before i land up in ICU

  67. I STAN(D) IN LINE FOR HYDROQUINONE) April 27, 2015

her vocals still yet to Be Emancipated, although Mimi’s been Emancipated years ago….

  68. Shelly April 27, 2015

I love Infinity! It’s empowering! No more crying for a boy who’s not worth it. Better than anything else out there right now!

  69. Brandon April 27, 2015

Her song-writing ability is much better than your journalism. Rather than writing your critiques, you need to be taking notes. At the end of the day, she’s going to look at your review like “Who is this?”.

    • JOHNVIDAL April 27, 2015

      Yaaaasss!

  70. Shelly April 27, 2015

There are plenty of older singers who are “demure” if that’s your preference. Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, etc. Why is it a problem if people want to dress s***? If it’s not for you don’t do it. We don’t all have a stick up our ass.

  71. boy April 27, 2015

Okay… like I am a hardcore lamb. And I was waiting in excitement for sooo long. I was really curious how she would incorporate the word Infinity in a song. And I don’t want to jump the gun so fast (although I do)… but I think I out growed her for a a while. I mean like serious wtf is this for a mediocre mess. I just don’t get it. But on the other hand I do get it. Her state of mind at this particular ‘moment’ is just transcending to her music. BLEAK. I do believe that she is really kind of over. Like I don’t know how… ughh I just can’t any more with her. And I’m sorry (not sorry) for my fellow lamb but I need to be honest. And I do get maybe it’s your taste of music but like pleas. I don’t know in what kind of planet they live to think that this is a radio hit… which young or adult would listen to this wack/ childish song? It really do bothers me and still don’t get it. But I wish her all the best. She is a sweet person. And I need… guess need to let her go and just focus on her older stuff. Because I’m just really ashamed of this thing called a new mariah ‘classic’. Like what kind of standards has the new mariah musically. And that lyrical video. It’s like a cheap episode of Winxclub. It just saddens me that she still can make jams as cry, camouflage, you don’t know what to do, dedicated, Make it look good, faded, meteorite, one more try, heavenly even the art of letting go and even Thirsty. That song sounded somehow even current. If she still can make music like that why release a song like this then? It’s like you’re mine 2 wack. Hated that song. But anyways. I have discovered her for exactly 10 years ago from now. And to ended like this is. Is sad. But she had a good run. And I can’t explain what her music has meant and still means to me. But I think the problem is that I don’t connect with Mariah the artist anymore. And person. And therfore I don’t connect with her current artistry (even if you can call this artistry) anymore. It’s just sad. I am trully sorry. And I wish you well (yes it’s a reference to her song because thats (was) a lamb thing. And yeah maybe one day you will fly like a bird again. And I can say you are mine again. You have touched mine heart so many times but you also broke it like a true heartbreaker. I will never ever forget about us but my dreamlover I must say we don’t belong together anymore. Once I had a clear vision of our lover but this love takes just so much time. And I don’t want to cry but this was kind of our love story. But I do believe someday in you and me. I am feeling the emotions and I’m slipping away. When I lay underneath the stars I will ask my self where is she going to (cover Dianna Rose). It was a one sweet day when I met you. But it’s time for us to say It’s a wrap for us. You will always be my baby but my by lOkay… like I am a hardcore lamb. And I was waiting in excitement for sooo long. I was really curious how she would make a song with the word Infinity. But I guess and I don’t want to jump the gun so fast (although I do)… but I think I out growed her for a a while. But I guess my mimi my mariah… my love didn’t last a Infinity for you. You will always be my baby but my love has melted away. I do kind of feel like a outsider right now but I will make it happen. I guess my love didn’t last a Infinity my mariah so… Bye Bye,

    L4L

  72. Fernando April 27, 2015

i absolutely love this song! AMAZING MARIAH!

  73. Beckie April 27, 2015

soooooo disappointing. She used to have such an incredible voice with beautiful songs. I feel like she may have damaged ger vocal chords or her voice has changed with age. This song is a train wreck IMO. Fritos? Come on!
She SHOULD sing songs that appeal to the age demographic that is most likely listening to her–the 30-something’s crowd, the ones who grew up with her. But I guess when you have as much money as she does and are a self proclaimed diva you can do what you want. I miss old Mariah. Like pre-divorce Tommy Matolla Mariah. She started getting away from her real talent after that.

  74. Royalkev April 27, 2015

Some of the lyrics were funny and witty (as usual). Although this single is a little better than ‘Triumphant’ and ‘You’re Mine’, it just misses the mark. Something about this is so dry! The last song she did in this style that I liked was ‘Obsessed’ and ‘Up Out My Face’ (and those aren’t anywhere near my favorite Mariah songs). This is just not what she needs to deliver these days. I think she’s over-thinking! I bet she doesn’t realized that she’s better off writing the heart break songs similar to what she did in the 90’s. No tricks, no sing-song lyrics needed! She should write something in the vein of a ‘Love Takes Time’, ‘Can’t Let Go’, ‘Without You'(something that Mariah was able to write in her sleep back in the days). I see she’s trying to blend styles of her early days while keeping it modern and quite frankly, that’s not working! So just go back Mariah, you may lose some of today’s audience, but who cares! I truly believe she has more to gain by pleasing those willing to support her, that’s been there since day one!

    • Royalkev April 27, 2015

Ooooh “facebook” is coming at me (under their troll username of course)! Stay mad and deal!

I’m far from mad f**, but you sure are with those exclamation points. Seeth on that with your UGLY fav, bye.

    • JOHNVIDAL April 27, 2015

Why are you so hard on Mariah hun? She´s a legend and her voice and style is so damn unique and can be found in almost any male out there since 1995. She still sounds that unique. I bet you are not as hard with Janet Jackson´s last releases? Oh wait, she doesn´t care or hasn´t had the guts to release anything in 7 years. Please give more credit to the people who actually always fight against all odds. This song is better than 70-80% of the songs out there now, only because t represents an style created by he artist itself: Mariah Carey, one of the last true icons. Do you want her to deliver monster classics as if it were nothing? Why aren´t other artists her age or older (Janet) delivering them then? Really, you´re too biased. Nice, but too biased.

      • Shady81 April 27, 2015

Johnvidal Mariah’s voice is good or shall I say once was great but not unique when she came out everybody compared her to Minnie Ripleton, and I see alot of similarities with Mariah and Minnie you can even tell the similarities but you have to say the same for Shanice Wilson and Chante Moore, whom did the same thing even with the same octave range as Mariah and Minnie. Now back to Minnie and Mariah the difference between Mariah and Minnie is Minnie never overused or abused her voice like Mariah (Mariah drinking Etc.) So she didn’t take care of her voice like she use to when she first entered the music scene when it comes to vocals Mariah’s good. But Minnie Ripleton is more better and way more superior vocally then Mariah even when Minnie was stricken with cancer she still was able to belt out a great song until she couldn’t do it anymore even after her death she’s still remembered as a vocal great also she was able to hold a note for long periods of time and had a much more h I higher range than Mariah so my dear Mariah’s just not that unique when she’s actually Minnie Ripletons understudy.

    • RoyalKev April 27, 2015

      @”facebook”
You can be seated with all your emotional stanning, Mariah doesn’t get me in my feelings about anything. I use exclamation points all the time because I speak with a lot of excitement / passion/ animation (sometimes). Your the pressed stan upset over someone not liking a song! Again…DEAL!

      @John
You guys are hilarious. On TGJ you’ll find lambs on hundreds of post shading JLO, Ariana, Nicki, Madonna, Beyonce, Whitney and just about any female making strides in the industry these days. They always bring other women into the mix to make an argument on Mariah’s behalf (over nothing hardly that serious). I have nothing against Mariah, I simply don’t care for some of her latest singles. It’s an opinion, ya’ll have opinions on everyone!!! I’m not going to praise someone’s music because I don’t want to offend their overzealous stans. I’m not a fan of Madonna’s and I recently said I liked ‘Ghost Town’. Same with Rih (with ‘AO’)! It’s nothing personal. I didn’t call Mariah a flop, or say she’s a crazy b**** or any of the things people say when their bashing her (matter of fact I sympathized with her on a post regarding her separation months ago). I always referred to Mariah as a legend. That’s not even a question… Do I like some of her latest music? Yes, I like some songs on the last album (Dedicated, Thirsty)…but I don’t care for her latest string of singles. You always throw jabs at Janet, I don’t attack you for having your opinion (because your usually “nice” as well). It is what it is, if I ever start talk greasy about Mariah, then that may be an invitation for some of the conflict.

      • RoyalKev April 27, 2015

Btw, I stated that Mariah should write something in the vein of a ‘Love Takes Time’, ‘Can’t Let Go’, ‘Without You’ … Not replicate them. That kind of pressure would be ridiculous!

      • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

Sweetheart, I would love to see a post where Dossom, Stephon, myself, and other Lambs that aren’t John, The Man, or Slayriah shades other women for no reason. You can never come for any fan base bc you’re the same one with the butthurt comment in the B-Rocka post love. Don’t generalize Lambs, bc even at your old age, you clearly have no idea WTF you’re talking about.

      • Facebook April 27, 2015

Blah blah blah, whatever makes you feel better, keep seething f**.

    • RoyalKev April 27, 2015

      @”facebook”

      You are bothered … Bye!

      @TheElusiveLamb
Here we go with a random mention of another artist again (Brandy). I usually say my piece when I feel my favs are wrongfully disrespected or ganged up on, NOT over someone who don’t appreciate a song by them. Dossome don’t spend hours attacking people on this blog. I would mention the times you do it, but your a little more reserved under this new persona. Your other one (you know, that switches up their avi every other day and stans/dislikes the same artists that you do (as “Exclusive lamb”) does all the dirty work! You can miss me with all these games you want to play hun!

      • Facebook April 27, 2015

And you are pressed, as is evident with these long as novels, bye.

      • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

My dear, where did I mention Brandy’s artistry? Furthermore, i will always change my Gravatar. But I find it funny how you’re talking about new personas when a simple TGJ time warp revealed everything that I needed to know about you honey bun. Sweetheart, should I bring up the blog that has constant subtle shade towards MC which was brought up by the I Stan For Talent troll (who is now Ciara the Flop- Yes sweetheart, I know)? How about the Mariah had to release 7653733235 albums to keep up Whitney shade? Or maybe the Mariah’s One Sweet Day & WBT climax can’t compete with Céline or Whitney’s climaxes to IWALY & MHWGO? Chile STOP trying to play a victim, bc the only time I “attack” stans is when they are being pressed ie Marshmallow’s bitterness over MC has me dragging Rihanna & Aaliyah as of lately, but i still have made it no secret that i adore Riri and used to love Aaliyah. WHY YOU MAD?

      • B April 27, 2015

Im reading all these back and forths and find them amusing. But when the words throw shade came out I totally lost it. How can anyone take anyone serious in their “debate” when they have to use filler garbage words instead of proper literate english language.

        Throw shade. BAHAHAHA

I know i’m gonna get crapped all over for this-so in advance, I don’t care. ???? be as negative as you need to be.
I won’t take that seriously either.

    • RoyalKev April 27, 2015

      @TheElusiveLamb

Ok, so you’re holding the few negative mentions I’ve made about Mariah against me (although I was retaliating against lambs anytime I went in on Mariah) and decided to bypass all the positive things I’ve said about her on that blog.

I guess you didn’t run across a post where I ranked 2 eras by Mariah (Music Box, Day Dream) top 10 on a greatest of all time list(for women)? … You also didn’t see where I went on and on about ‘Always Be My Baby’ being a timeless classic… Nor did you see when I compared Mariah’s catalog to Madonna’s and stated that ABMB (along with WBT) was better than any song from Madonna’s entire collection. I don’t target your fav hunnybun, I just always keep it honest (like I did today).

  75. AnnaliseKeatingsNewWig April 27, 2015

Still not 100% with it, but I am here for the shady lyrics and nick cannon reads.

  76. Musika April 27, 2015

  80. satoya clark April 27, 2015

Yesssssss Mariah carey…..we needed this..thank God I have an open mind for music

  81. JOHNVIDAL April 27, 2015

    Wow I love it!
That style that has influenced several generations after her already. Here you have the original displaying that way of singing and style. No copycats needed.
ps: R&B is not a top genre. So if people want her to be #1 (the fact that there are people still waiting for that says it all about the high expectations those people always have, which means how good she is) I agree this is not the way. She would need to do pure pop or some indie-new style thing. She could easily sing that too. But she loves her music and always stays true to herself. We´ll see in the future. But for now, just for a song in a Greatest Hits, you weren´t expecting to change her whole artistry, were you? 🙂
    The song is really good.

    • KeKe April 27, 2015

I laughed when Rashad said it doesn’t fit a bill that features Vision of love and my all as if Touch my body and Heartbreaker do (which i love because its fun and childish) Im so in love with the production though she really cane thru this time

    • Essa April 27, 2015

“Almost Home” was pure pop (and was attached to a hit movie starring James Franco) and flopped. She also put out a “pure pop” remix of “Triumphant” that flopped. Stop pretending that she’s failing due to genre instead of the cold reality that the GP is over her.

      • JOHNVIDAL April 27, 2015

Retarded argument. Almost Home? From a kids movie? You wanted that to become #1? Why did all of the mediocre songs from Rihanna and JLo for that recent movie Home “flopped” too?
Mariah has not released pop since the late 90s. Not the way pop is understood worldwide.
Plus I didn´t say she wouldn´t flop if she did pop. I only said that the way to try and have a huge success and a complete change os direction and do pop or indie, but I didn´t say it is guaranteed.

  82. Gee April 27, 2015

Many say they want classic Mariah but yet when she gave us some classic moments radio nor the general public was there to listen. It funny to me that when artists like Madonna and Jlo do song beneath them everyone applauds and celebrates them, but when MC goes that top 40 radio friendly route rather than A/C people say she needs to grow up. Give this woman a break JayZ is over and still rapping about much of nothing and no ones complaining double standard much. As for the song is a cool bop that will get enough radio play and people will be eating it up mark my words.

  83. kingbeybitch April 27, 2015

Man I don’t know what y’all talking about but I see this song doing good. The radio will eat this up I see a top 20 or her 19th #1

    • Essa April 27, 2015

      Sarcasm?

  84. TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

^^ LOL They mad. The song is a single for a COMPILATION album, not the official 15th album that is supposed to drop later this year. I don’t think this song is phenomenal, but it definitely is cute. I don’t get the ‘we want the adult contemporary Mariah thing’bc she gave you plenty of R&B/adult contemporary tracks on MIAMTEC and most of you probably haven’t even listened to the album. It’s so funny how everyone becomes a critic to MC, but if someone gave their fav this criticism, the tears would be flowing. 😆 SN Rebecca, stop trolling. You’re so pathetic.

    • KeKe April 27, 2015

That troll is fuming mad lol
You swear most of the critics on here are record execs the way they are going on

      • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

Lol O.K.! I can’t at some of these ppl ‘criticism.’ I didn’t know TGJ hired some of Rolling Stones critics to comment. 😆 😆 😆

  85. Mario April 27, 2015

Now THIS is what we want from Mariah. THIS IS GOOD QUALITY MUSIC. Lyrics have meaning, other than rhyming words together and beat is good. Love it

  86. Eldela April 27, 2015

Horrible song. And the sad/funny part is that I pretty much expected that it would be and was right.

  87. OMG Logic!!! April 27, 2015

I can’t say I’m not disappointed because I am. This song seems like it would be a perfect fit on Memoirs which makes it dated from the get go. The chorus is cut though.

  88. G.U.Y April 27, 2015

so yall praise that basic Beyoncé song 9/11 but you trash this? ok

  89. Chillin April 27, 2015

    I actually like it!

  90. diabetes unbothered April 27, 2015

Lol this traffic ass song makes me hope that this won’t be Bey in 10 years releasing flop after flop trying to regain relevance. ylol

  91. Mark111 April 27, 2015

Well it was a nice 25 years. Go to Vegas and wrap it up with a bow. It’s gone lAMEs, she’s in her 40s and singing these crappy lil Jordan Sparks songs. The studio vocalist even sounds bad with recorded music. I said a while back that she should write for Grande, but never mind that, go raise your babies.

    • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

Ashes ashes we all FALL down!

      • Mark111 April 27, 2015

We all go sooner or later. Maybe then the GP will love Mariah again, but until than, #1’s to Flops.

  92. #1lamb April 27, 2015

I’m not going to say much but I will say, I’m glad my fave is still making music. I don’t care if it flops or goes to the top. I only care that I still get music from Mariah Carey (since 1990)
The song is cute, not her best, but it’s cute. Haters will find anything to hate on especially from the woman they love to hate.

  93. Lake Erie April 27, 2015

“Why ya Mad”? Talkn bout ya mad? Lol. I like it. She def spitn like she’s known to do and the beat is cold, I love it. It gives me that symphony sound.

  94. #1lamb April 27, 2015

Also the comments ask for classic mariah, well, go listen to MIAM…. Make it look good ft Stevie wonder, you don’t know what to do, dedicated, and faded. All these songs are amazing

  95. XoMoDe April 27, 2015

Who couldn’t see this train wreck of a song coming from two miles away? Mariah’s music stopped being decent forever ago. The hilarious part in all this is watching her desperate stans come in here pretending that this BS is better than it is in an attempt to do damage control for her.

  96. It’s Barbie B**** April 27, 2015

she fired her whole squad and still released this stale ass mess? lmao!

    • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

Let’s not, bc Nicki did a two year promo campaign and new team for this fake natural look and etc and only did 600k. Don’t even mention those singles success, bc most of those sales are streams. This is a single for a compilation album, not the new album will slay lives later this year.

      • jtpop April 27, 2015

What does any of this have to do with Nicki? Stop trying to divert attention away from how your favorite just put out ANOTHER floptastic song. At this point she has enough of them to put out a greatest flops album, which this “new” song would fit in perfectly with. This ain’t about Nicki dear, it’s about how Mariah has become a self parody.

      • G.U.Y April 27, 2015

kii and it stalled at 600k with all that single success you would think she would atleast be platinum by now? lol and she’s local Af so she isn’t even close to 1mil WW

      • TheElusiveLamb April 27, 2015

A self parody of herself… Ok I’ll pretend this doesn’t exist, but unfortunately those ass implants, the D-List rapper relationship for PR, grey contacts, lip syncing, Safaree written verses, and etc still exist. #SelfDrag

  99. True Lamb April 27, 2015

  100. KOOPER April 27, 2015

I LIKE IT CHILDISH AND ALL … which has always been the core of Mariah songs and lyrics .. definitely a grower

  101. Casual-T April 27, 2015

Juvenile lyrics aside, this actually has the makings of a hit.

  102. The One April 27, 2015

I like it!! Video concept is creative as well.

  103. Chrisfresh April 27, 2015

I love Mariah but why she bashin her baby father like that lol

    • Blue Gorilla Carter April 27, 2015

Nothing like a woman scorn. Girl please Nick Cannon is not hardly broke. Mariah is such a evil, vindictive individual.

  104. HOWYOULIKEIT April 27, 2015

    What happened to her???
With the exception of the emancipation of Mimi, ALL of her music after Rainbow has been pure garbage. Where is the Mariah that had huge songs???

  106. AyiteNefertari April 27, 2015

What in vocal hell is this? Why wont she teleport from the 90’s already

  107. MusicMatters201 April 27, 2015

I love Mariah Carey, but this is just not cutting it. It seems like a decent song but there are things that make it less than. For one there is something musically that just seems off. Secondly the lyrics are written very juvenile and as if a t*** should be singing it. Like she is trying too hard to appeal to the youth. Mariah with your voice you don’t need to do that. Then the “infinity-eeeeeee” part is so annoying too. The song sounded like it had potential, but in the end sounds like a week Nick Cannon diss rather than a song many could easily connect with like “We Belong Together” or “Don’t Forget About Us.” Such a damn shame.

    1.5 / 5 Stars Mimi (from a HUGE fan)

    • Career Ender April 27, 2015

Who wrote this song? A fifth grader?

      • Blue Gorilla Carter April 27, 2015

I just wish she would settle things with him maturely and not drag this out – for the kids sakes

    • LC April 27, 2015

@MusicMatters201 I agree with you completely. I feel like Mariah’s songs have become incredibly juvenile when compared to her more classic songs. I understand that she wants to still be “cool” but there are ways to do that without stooping to a teenager’s level (Heartbreaker, WBT & DFAB are great examples of this). And unlike many stars who attempt to dig deeper with their lyrics as they get further into their careers, Mariah is doing the opposite. She needs to go back to whatever mindset she was in during the Butterfly era. She can be s***, cool and mature all at the same time like she was back then.

  108. Carry On April 27, 2015

New, it’s fresh. Talent is back but unfortunately no one wants to be grown. love it!!!

  109. Sam April 27, 2015

That song is straight to jukebox. It’s awful

  110. Blue Gorilla Carter April 27, 2015

Oh Goody MIMI the screeching Cow dropped an new classic… Now if she could drop some attitude maybe it wouldnt need to photo shop every picture so she fits into the frame

  111. Michael April 27, 2015

Don’t get the mixed reactions to this song. I loved it instantly. Beautiful was a good song but this one is far more catchy and exciting to the ears. Love it so mucg more than Obsessed, It’s Like That and Touch My Body(on first listen) Seriously, people just have a problem because it’s Mariah. Just accept that this woman is a true legend able to continually release amazing music to the world.

  112. mk April 28, 2015

    Its a yes from me…..

  113. HYISI April 28, 2015

    The song sucks.
That’s the biggest problem I have with stans and fans,if this was anyone else the conversation would be different. If there’s one stanbase that’s delusional it’s most definitely the lambs, they still are going around saying her last album went gold! This song sucks! The vocals suck!

Yeah we know she is Mariah Carey and she used to be one of the best singers ever and yes we know about those 18#1’s she got by payola and airplay only besides we belong together! It’s just her albums since the emancipation have all sounded dated, forced, and just below her. The song will be lucky to hit top 40!
