Could tonight mark the Emancipation of Mimi’s vocals?
Mariah Carey‘s much publicised Las Vegas residency, ‘Mariah #1 To Infinity,’ kicks off tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and it’s sounding like she may silence the naysayers.
TMZ have “obtained” a recording of audio from the diva’s final dress rehearsal last night and her voice sounds refreshed, revitalised, and projecting power singing songs such as ‘Emotions.’

Now, of course, this is Mariah; as such it’s anyone’s guess how much of that was legit live.
Still, it’s Vegas, so who’s fussed about pre-recorded vocals? After all, it’s largely about the “show” and “spectacle.”
In all fairness, though, the parts that did sound live are the best she’s sounded in a long, long time. Clearly, her preparation regime for this project (which we hear includes a new vocal coach and special teas) are helping in earnest.
As keen appreciators of her talent and legacy, we hope the whole vegas venture helps redeem her from some of the missteps in recent years.

85% of those vocals were live. The only major vocal she uses that is prerecorded is that long Hero belt.
Also, how can you point fingers at her using some prerecorded vocals when Rihanna doesn’t even bother to prerecord and just straight up uses the studio backtrack for the entire performance?

Sounds like she’s been rehearsing and laying off the alcohol which dries the vocal cords. Also I am glad to see the confidence slowly coming back in MC. I wish her nothing but the best with this residency. On another note Sam why must you always find negativity when report something on MC?
She sounds great! I cant get over these haters tho.
