Janet Jackson is officially back!
Pick up details on her brand new world tour below!
The ‘Unbreakable’ tour will support her forthcoming album and was announced here earlier today.
Now fans will learn more about the stage show and how their support of it will also see them push sales of its supporting album.
The star’s official website revealed the following:
This first leg, a 36-date tour, 30 of which are promoted by Live Nation, will take the legendary artist to cities throughout the U.S. and Canada with shows lined up in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, San Diego, San Francisco and more. All dates are being co-produced by Miss Jackson’s Rhythm Nation. A full list of tour dates is below.
American Express Card members can purchase tickets for select shows before the general public beginning Monday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. through Friday, June 19 at 10:00 pm. “American Express is thrilled to partner with an iconic artist like Janet Jackson on the UNBREAKABLE WORLD TOUR and bring our Card Members an opportunity to purchase tickets before the general on-sale date,” said Walter Frye, V.P., American Express Entertainment. “Adding Janet to our industry-leading ticketing partnerships is rooted in our mission to serve our Card Members’ deep passion for music.”
In addition to Live Nation and Rhythm Nation, other concert promoters will include Nederlander Concerts, Jam Productions, Another Planet Entertainment, and such promoters as Bamp and Tommy Meharey who will produce the Honolulu dates.
Janet is onto a winner for two reasons.
The first being that enough time has passed since her commercial decline to allow her return to glory without being held down by the burdens that was Super Bowl-gate and 20 Y.O’s sales run.
Secondly, Brand Janet comes packaged with an air of coolness that is seeing her pick up fans who are arguably more familiar with her “daughters” than they are with her. Fortunately, these fans are now being introduced to content that is still as engaging today as it was “back then” and can now be expected to pick up tickets for the tour to see what they’ve heard so much about for themselves!
Tickets for these dates go on sale on June 22nd.

It’s obvious that it derives from all of the adversity that Janet not only had to endure, but overcome. ‘Unbreakable’ evidently is a direct reference to a testament of Janet’s strength and perseverance.

Stop reaching! ‘Unbreakable’ is not even one of MJ’s most popular (or even most underrated) songs. It’s comes off his ‘Invincible’ album (which was probably what actually came to mind first when you heard of Jan’s tour title, but you couldn’t force a connection with that). The ‘Invincible’ album under-performed and was a sleeper until after MJ’s death. ‘Unbreakable’ wasn’t even released as a single, so I don’t know why Janet would want to pull from that particular era. It’s just titles at the end of the day!

I just want to comment on something I’ve read on here more than once. I keep seeing people saying that Janet is local. That is asinine to me and maybe you’re too young to understand, but she is global. Janet has had 17 top 10 hits in the UK, the largest European market, 12 top 10 hits in New Zealand, 9 top 10 hits in Australia and countless top 5 hits in Japan. In fact, she has probably had more #1 hits in Japan than any other country, maybe even the US. That’s The Way Love Goes, All For You, Together Again and Scream were all HUGE international smashes. Basically top 5 in every country. That’s The Way Love Goes and Together Again both went #1 on the European chart. Rhythm Nation and janet. albums both sold more than 20 million each WW. Not only that but the Rhythm Nation tour is still the most successful debut tour for any artist where more than 2 million people all over the globe saw her. Rhythm Nation, janet., and the Velvet Rope tours were sellouts internationally. The All For You Tour’s European leg had to be scrapped because of September 11th. So, she may not be as popular today in this new generation, but she has made her mark as an international superstar. So quit with the local nonsense. That was my lesson for today. Goodnight.
