Patience quite literally has been a virtue for fans of ‘Southern Hummingbird’ Tweet.

Indeed, the years following the 2006 release of sophomore effort ‘It’s Me Again’ were defined by minimal music, long periods of silence, and promises of a comeback album.

Now, nine years later, the singer is ready to put the industry politics and hardships behind her and finally deliver the LP supporters have been thirsty for.

During a recent interview with our friends over at You Know I Got Soul, the star spilled all – confirming she has a new record deal with eOne, an album called ‘Charlene’ on the way, and an actual release date for said set. She also revealed that she’s re-teamed with longtime collaborator Missy Elliott for the set.

Peep Tweet tell it after the jump…

As keen appreciators of Tweet’s talent, we’re elated that she’s on the comeback trail. Hopefully, it leads her to fresh success.

eOne will lead her to nowhere. EVERY struggling artist is signing to eOne. That label is not securing any radio plays.

While Tweet is extremely talented singer-songwriter I see the masses paying her dust but I think her core base will be happy.

I love Tweet so much ❤️ I really want her next EP to do well. I also think the story of Missy’s phonecall saving her life is beautiful x.

I miss all of the sangers that Missy collabed with I.e. Ginuwine, Nicole Wray, Tweet, Lil’ Mo, Aaliyah – Missy always had an eye for spotting great talent.

I’m here for it. as long as some has realistic expectations about her sales, she will do fine.

She has been grinding seriously on her own for the last 10 years so the drive is there. The voice still there
