Coming as a surprise to approximately no one, Canadian emcee Drake is still winning.  For once, however, he’s bringing someone else along for the ride – Future.

Indeed, as predicted here, the twosome’s surprise album ‘What a Time To Be Alive’ dashed the dreams of Lana Del Rey‘s tertiary release ‘Honeymoon’s bid for the top spot on this week’s Billboard 200.

And, while not exactly meeting the projected 500,000 first week sales listed by industry analysts last week, the set’s inaugural numbers gave them each their second chart-toppers of the year.

See the final figures below:

Via Billboard:

The set earned 375,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 24, according to Nielsen Music — of that sum, 334,000 were pure album sales.

Coming in at No. 2 on the new chart is Lana Del Rey’s Honeymoon, with 116,000 units (105,000 in pure album sales). It’s the fourth top 10 album for Del Rey, and follows her chart-topping Ultraviolence in 2014.

The albums come as two of 7 debuts in this week’s top 10 and follow reports Drake will see his name etched in history books for notching 100 hits on the Hot 100.  In fact, he is the youngest on the list of artists with triple digit entries on the tally.

See the top 10 here:

207, Glee Cast
127, Lil Wayne

108, Elvis Presley
100, Drake
91, James Brown
83, Jay Z
75, Ray Charles
73, Chris Brown
73, Aretha Franklin
71, The Beatles

Honeymoon numbers are very good, 105,000 copies without promo and commercial music is great, the album is a masterpiece, loving the video for “Music to Watch Boys To”.

I really hope Drake earns his first #1 with “Hotline Bling”. He deserves it and the song is great and relates with most young people in relationships in today’s society. After his run at #1, Hailee Seinfeld’s “Love Myself” should take its spot. I still can’t believe she actually has an Oscar nomination.

Future knew what he was doing with his childish messy a**, Keep Ciara name in yo mouth bitter bish!

    • RIHANNA>beyonce October 1, 2015

Like talking about ci-error will boost his sales. When she can’t boost her own sales. Future has had more hits than ci-error. Ci-error can’t even give away her records.

Future is outselling Ciara and selling out shows. She should feel dumb

      • Kayla C October 1, 2015

And now she’s with a Super Bowl champion who’s worth way more than Future hoodrat ass

      • Monica Stan October 1, 2015

Who cares about who she’s with? People keep throwing stones at Future while he outsells her 20x over. Ciara’s only relevance is whoever she’s with at the moment.

      That’s wassup

  11. Monica Stan October 1, 2015

People are delusional if they think consumers are buying Futures album because of Ciara. Rap/trap fans don’t give a f*** about her nor does the general public. Keep clinging to men to stay relevant chile because the music ain’t selling.

    • SMH October 1, 2015

But how was Future selling before he got with Ciara? Funny how folks like to forget that little tidbit.

  12. What now October 1, 2015
