It was an insane vocal performance. She will never even think of touching that song live. The Butterfly album is her masterpiece…Agreed.

I just watched both festivals (global & rio) and they both had what the other lacked and vice versa. Rihannas setlist was on point, performed all the right songsand in right rder. Yes! I was NOT EXPECTING her to open with “Rockstar 101” and I though she would follow it with “What Now”like on the Diamonds tour, but she didn’t even perform it. I was yelling and screaming when she was SHOCKED Brazil knew the words to her old songs that weren’t even singles. It was so funny because when they would start singing the songs before she began, they just kept going anyway and picked up with her wherever she left off. They ALWAYS do that since the Loud Tour for every “Take a Bow” performance.

OMG! How could I forget about “Empty”? I LOVE that song! The background noise was everything “1, 2, 3… Hi ya! Hi ya!” The ditch-skip beat was everything too! It took me a while to realize the song was about online dating. That’s how far ahead of her time she was with the material in thus album. I mean…the lyrics alone would kill every other album released that year. “How could it be that you know me?… Is this a new way to love as if face to face isn’t enough?” And I love when she says “Your feelings descriptive and through the TEXTURED words with beauty you post it and use such colored verbs.
