Okay, this song is a grower. I’ve listened to it 2 times already… When you turn the volume all the way up with headphones.. Gosh, Bey’s voice sounds like heaven. You can get the full experience of her voice & the production. Very good song. A smash hit? probably not. But, it’s definitely not a bad song at all. I’ve personally only listened to the singles so I can be totally surprised. After the brilliant “Ultraviolence,” I’m beyond stoked (and nervous).
It already leaked & is out in most of the world (iTunes).
Did you prefer Born To Die? Do you LOVE ballads? Then you’ll like it? Personally it isn’t my cup of tea; it sounds like what Ultraviolence was probably supposed to be before Dan Auerbach stepped in. Like a b-sides album. And honestly HBTB is one of the worst songs on the album; it got so old fast. Some of the songs are lovely on their own though, not in the context of the album because I personally think it’s incohesive and doesn’t flow well.
I saw the leak but I refused to listen b/c I wanted to wait until official release day in the US. “Ultraviolence” is a masterpiece in my opinion so I can definitely get with “slow” Lana. Do you not like UV?

The difference between UV and Honeymoon is that the former was a masterpiece; an extremely cohesive and original work with great production and instrumentals that fit Lana’s voice perfectly. Honeymoon, like I stated many times, sounds like a collection of BTD b-side ballads. That honestly isn’t good, especially since BTD is already starting to sound dated (but that’s mainly due to every other “deep” indie pop artist copying and pasting its sound).

I feel sorry for Arrow Benjamin as he sang the whole song which leaked a while back and now he’s taking a back seat.
I don’t think that Beyonce’s and Arrows voice compliment each other, i think it needed a Emeli Sande or someone with a richer voice to compliment his voice or someone with a lighter voice to compliment hers.
All that aside, the song is weak, it sounds like something from the end of a animated film

No it does not, I can see why people would draw comparisons. Have you listened to Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version of Events’, if not I highly recommend it. Emeli leans towards piano-driven ballads like ‘Daddy’ or ‘My Kinda Love’ (The Uk liken her to Alicia Keys, who she has incidentally worked with before), but is also able to do upbeat emotional dance tracks. Production wise, many of Emeli’s successful songs were produced by Naughty Boy, so of course the production will sound similiar (European producers tend to replicate a very similar sound on a lot of their projects, all of the people I namedropped above use practically the same production qualities to all of their singles). It reminds me of a modern-day Soulshock & Karlin kind of production.
Not a fan, there is nothing original about this song. Sounds almost like Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy produced various songs for Emeli , but using Beyonce in this song, sounds like a knockoff, nothing original about this song. Where is the originality in music foday????
