She may have watched her 3rd album ‘Honeymoon’ unexpectedly robbed of its projected reign on the Billboard 200 this week, but that hasn’t stopped Lana Del Rey from pressing forward with giving her fans something to watch.

A somber black-and-white affair, the singer’s new video – ‘Music To Watch Boys To’ – arrives just as ‘High By the Beach’ slips out of the Hot 100.

Now, we turn to you to ask:  is ‘Boys’ just what the trap pop diva needs to get ‘High’ on charts once more?  Let us know below:

Not at all, “High by the Beach” is the most “radio friendly” song on the album, if we can really call it like that. Good video, great song, she’s on another level when it comes to quality music.

What´s your favorite Lana VIDEO? Mine is “Ride”. Absolutely gorgeous. I just feel in another place in all senses when I watch it. When it comes to music videos it is one of the best I´ve ever seen period. So beautiful.

Mine too, Ride is her masterpiece.

I’m curious what her appeal is to a site like this. I definitely view her as a fully fleshed out artist. Visually and sonically but, what is her relevance to the pop world; Or even more specifically, the “urban pop” arena. There are 100s of other artist who seemingly deserve attention. Not that lana doesn’t. But… here? Why?

I thought this was just a music blog, why be selective.

Lana Del Rey gets a special pass because her appeal transcends simple music genres. She has no target audience within pop, alternative, urban, etc., her demographic is a mix of all of them. And it helps that her music is truly one of a kind and not something that is dictated by radio trends. Just because it’s upbeat, doesn’t mean it’s poppy top 40 material. It’s also refreshing to see such a huge artist such as herself release music just for the art and for the sake of creating.

I understand that. I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve attention but what im curious about is why other artist aren’t. Say someone like bjork or robyn or… I dunno, there are tons of genre bending valid artist that deserve attention. I’m just curious why lana gets it. No hate. I just don’t understand.

I am so in love with “Honeymoon” and “Swan Song” is my favorite gem from the album. I’m sure she’ll eventually scan platinum this era. Oh, and the vocals she possessed on her recent Summer arena tour were shocking and ethereal. She has definitely improved her live performances.

A flop is a flop. Save the excuses, grab your toys and go home. I heard she’s up to fall out the top 10 next week. Hahahahahahahah. No wonder we haven’t seen Rosie. I think she fell in the ocean trying to jump ship.

      I’m right here fäg.
Unlike you, who stays perched on a comments section for 8 hours a day while working double shift at retail for another 8, I’m actually working on my degree and earning an education. This biology major is starting to get really hard! Meanwhile you probably flunked out your first year while struggling to get a liberal arts degree.

The dragging Rosie is going to receive over the next few weeks kii she came for Mariah, Madonna,Ciara, Rihanna and all the other lessors it’s payback time now

    • Rosie October 1, 2015

What dragging? It’s not like you can afford more than 12 minutes of Internet access in Lesotho anyway.
Why is it always these avi-less nobodies trying it with me? Don’t know a “Lesoto Finnest” (did you mean “finest?” Must be hard learning how to spell in the third world).

  14. Ciah’s Turtle October 1, 2015

    dust

  15. JOHNVIDAL October 1, 2015

Something about the 3:38 minute reminded me of Mariah Carey when she was Lana´s age.

  16. Rosie October 1, 2015

Screaming at the sad attempt to start a stan war in the post, Lana doesn’t even care enough to get her lazy ass up and do even one performance so idk why you all think she cares enough about the charts. The only time I saw her mention them BTD’s first week when she was going through all that backlash during SNL.
Anyways, this is her best video since Ride, and the second half of this album is tied for her best and most cohesive work with Ultraviolence (which is still her best album as a whole). Maybe if Lana actually did care she would be doing much better, at least she has her critical acclaim back this time around and can still tour big venues without having to cling to hits.

She did a great interview and performance on B** radio last month. It’s on YouTube, look it up. Her band is phenomenal.
