Rita Ora‘s beautiful ‘Body’ made its way to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ yesterday evening!

Joined by her latest collaborator Chris Brown the entertainer rocked the show with a scorching performance of their song ‘Body on Me’ which can be found on her forthcoming LP, due out in November.

How the soon-to-be queen of Rhythmic radio fared?

Find out after ze jump…

Fantastic.

Though the likes of ‘I Will Never Let You Down‘ and ‘Poison’ were brilliant numbers those familiar with Ora’s “urban” beginnings will understand what we mean when we say she’s right where she needs to be with ‘Body.’

With this performance (and the promotional work that’s gone into pushing the single) Rita proves she has the talent, tenacity and the voice  to stand the test of time in an industry where Urban Contemporary starlets with voices  are few and far between.

Go Rita!

Side note: Those runs from the 3.22 mark? Amazing!

David you should go and work as Rita’s PR. You are wasted doing this blog. Back to reality, the performance was okay.

Yeah. Let me preface this by saying, I like Rita. I love her aesthetics. She has a wonderful timbre and probably an immense vocal ability that she has yet to even tap into. That being said, this performance was… meh. The dancing could have and should have been more dynamic. Both of their vocal performances were just average at best. She definitely was rushing it and he didn’t seem completely “into it (or her, tbh)”. Their adlibs were a mess. And one last thing, as a “popstar”, if you’re going to parade around in a midriff or halter, please give me janet circa janet era. I’m not saying Rita looks bad by any normal stretch of the imagination but, girl… you got me craving muffins. #ijs 😉

How much is Rita paying y’all?

  3. Check Your Lipstick Before You Come & Talk To Me September 9, 2015

Yeah it was by no means bad, but it wasn’t even close to fantastic. It’s so obvious RocNation or whoever Rita is under is shelling out their coins and have been for so long so that you beef up her image by talking her up 1000% more than is warranted.

I dont know what about Rita Whora that always turns me off…Some of her songs is ok but i never bother to download at just listen to her song whenever she play on the radio. Maybe cuz when she debut, too many people comparing here to Rihanna. When the music is not that great like rihanna…i guess too soon too fast…she got good voice though just not clickin with me yet…till now…

      • Check Your Lipstick Before You Come & Talk To Me September 9, 2015

Yeah I hear what you’re saying I just can’t get into Rita – I like CB but I haven’t downloaded this song and probably won’t. Rita is just lacking in a few areas and I just find it all bland and forced. People can say what they want and try to compare her to Rihanna but the simple fact is Rihanna is a star, Rita is a wannabe star. Rihanna cranks out worldwide hits, and Rita does not. I don’t find them that similar except just having “okay voices” but that could be said about most pop stars.

Absolutely no chemistry! None at all!! Just when i thought it couldn’t get any worse than the video we get the “live” preformance we have rhyemless Ora and the Cheeto’s tiger sounding pretty much like they were arguing. Her ad libs were weird and the dancing and walking through the studio was dire. Alexandra Burke would’ve stayed the vocals and dancing. Jessie J would’ve stayed this vocally. This is Rita’s song and she did neither

Omg… he does remind me of the cheetos cheetah lol

She’s so lost and clearly Roc Nation (like most of their artist) gave up on her. Chris Brown is king of studio magic. Cause his songs be full of vocals, butyou’ll never get them LIVE. Lol He can’t sing, so why are people putting him on the lane of MJ and Usher? More like Britney Spears… just a dancer.

    • RihYonce September 9, 2015

MJ was that great of a singer either so let’s not ! Chris brown just needs to stop smoking that’s why his live vocals haven’t been the same but as far as stage presents he does have what Michael had , if he starts lip singing like Michael did in every performance then he’ll have the whole thing down pact

      • Lake Erie September 9, 2015

I agree, his first and second album was proof that he really could sing and probably had potential to open his voice a little more.

      • coolness September 9, 2015

I find it hilarious how you’re trying to write MJ off as a passable singer to compensate for Chris’ nonexistent live vocals when the latter is SUPPOSED to be either in or entering his prime vocally at his age (26). Yes, Michael was not a traditional powerhouse but he grew from a vocal prodigy as a child to developing his own unique and highly influential singing style as an adult. The man could SING. Plus, dead @ you trying to shade Michael again by saying Chris could lip sync every performance like Mike did as if Chris has sang live for more than five minutes on TV in the last five years. Even when he DID sing live, he sounded like a dying cat. Chris could mimic Michael all he wants but he could never have his stage *PRESENCE (wtf is ‘presents’?) down *PAT.

  6. Gee September 9, 2015

Rita Ora still does not possess that star quality factor in my honest opinion. As for this song and performance it was, and is average at best and honestly Rita and Chris have no chemistry.

  7. What now September 9, 2015

I’m abt 2 DM David. I wonder if he’ll give muah the same rate he gives Rita 2 write these b******* essays abt her invisible “slayage” & talent.

  8. coolness September 9, 2015

I agree with everyone who noted that they have ZERO CHEMISTRY! That being said, I do think Rita has a nice voice. Her material doesn’t do her vocal ability justice though. Chris on the other hand, is a studio singer – that backing track was loud af! Team Breezy touts him as the Michael Jackson of his generation yet he his almost nonexistent live vocals can’t even compare to the likes of Bruno Mars or Usher let alone prime Mike. I haven’t seen a decent televised vocal performance from him since the F.A.M.E era circa 2011.

  9. Indie September 9, 2015

it was good, but by no means fantastic lets be real, and when you over hype things like that it just puts people off her and she’s a nice girl. In terms of the next girl to running radio lol, Navy season is on it’s way (R8)! and in terms of newcomers that will run tings it’s all about Tinashe!

    • Ovo Barbie September 9, 2015

Rita has a radio deal so that’s what he was talking about.

  10. grangrandolly September 9, 2015

    Kii-Tah Whora plzzzzzz

  11. Chile, leave my weave at the door and don’t steal it like those broke ass barb stans September 9, 2015

To be honest, everyone who performs on his show either seems to have “less than stellar” vocals that day or just dont give it their all for some reason. I’ve noticed this, except for Tinashe’s performance of “2 On” of course. Well, will she finally crack the U.S. and no longer be considered a local artist? Stay tuned to find out soon, kids!

  12. Musika September 9, 2015

Hope Rita finally gets her break in U.S. with this song. Damn what’s up with Brown? Could barely hear him

  13. Lake Erie September 9, 2015

I really like her voice and this song. I agree with what someone said above about her dancing routine, it really didn’t mesh well with this song to me.

  14. Ann September 9, 2015

Most of the newcomers bring not a whole lot to the table its like everything in music has been done already and Rita, come on I’m sick of these obviously being forced artists..RnB ain’t feeling this Chick and it wouldn’t surprise me if she’s next on BET Awards white artist segmant lol

  15. cocobutta September 9, 2015

    Soon to be whaaaat?

    Moving on…

  16. r**** is washed up September 9, 2015

She is not gonna happen. Even natlaia Rose went 2x platinum in the USA!

  17. JT September 9, 2015

This was so bad. However they do look good together but that’s it…

  18. eric September 9, 2015

I can be very critical, but I actually think this performance worked. People have gotten so used to the type of antics we get from Rihanna and Miley that they think two people have to be grinding on each other to show chemistry. It’s a cool and casual kind of chemistry Chris and Rita have, just like the song itself is laid back. The performance was fine.

  19. TheOuyonB September 9, 2015

The song is just okay, and this performance was underwhelming. I know that both Rita Ora and Chris Brown can actually sing, but this just wasn’t very good to me at all. Not atrocious, but wasn’t polished and a bit lackluster.

Is Sony gonna get Monica on Kimmel??? Chile
