As momentum builds for Monica‘s new album ‘Code Red,’ the R&B veteran has announced a US tour in support of the project.

Kicking off next month in Las Vegas, the trek – which has been christened the ‘Code Red Experience’ – will journey through 22-cities in America before wrapping on December 13th in New York City.
Hitmaker Rico Love has been tapped to join Grammy winning Mo’ on the road for the jaunt.

I agree to a extend. Monica has the voice to still blow b****** away, but your right it all comes down to the material, promo, live appearances and management. Monica like Mariah too should look over their past albums and come a conceptual growth album of the past albums like Janet with a mature sound and substance singles. She needs real songwriters and producers who are underground. To reinvent her sound.
She really does not have a fan base anymore. Her lack of promotion. Lack of proper single roll-out, lack of live performances, has basically put her in the same space as all the other c- level female singers.
Sad, because she can probably sing circles around most of the girls on the chart right now.

No one should ever sign to RCA. Those ppl have no idea how or what to do. RCA, Motown, Interscope, & Epic are literally the worst labels a R&B artist can sign to.

MONICA is doing what she needs to do to push this project. Mo isn’t Bey & can’t just drop an album & expect it to succeed. It’s no longer the 90s. She’s building momentum & reconnecting with the people who’ve brought her records for the last 20+ yrs. it’ll pay off in the end. Trust me.

Monica has already stated in interviews that her album is complete but she wants to promote the album more, which she’s not doing. Still Standing had a strong lead single and strong follow up and the promotion was strong and widespread. New Life had good singles and solid promotion, but was pushed back too many times and Code Red is just a mess… No promotion and a weak lead single, I’d be surprised if this album does worst than Jackie SMH. It’s not that R&B artists don’t have budgets because they do, it’s that the labels don’t know how to promote them and the artists aren’t connecting with their fan bases.
