A star is born!

Fleur East returned to the stage that started it all tonight – ‘The X Factor UK.’ The fierce performer let out an almighty roar as she hit the stage to perform debut single ‘Sax.’

Already top 5 on iTunes following its release on Friday, the dynamite dance-floor jam looks set to blow all the way up after the show-stopping performance.

Watch the Londoner flaunt her X Factor after the jump…

Sensational.

Every so often, such shows uncover a legitimate star, one with true global potential. This go round, it’s Fleur!

We can’t stress how excited watching her makes us. And having heard her debut album ‘Love, Sax and Flashbacks’ (due December 4th), we imagine the masses will echo our sentiments.

Your thoughts?

Too bad the song sucks, though.

She was alright. I did not get star quality, more another X factor performance. The beyonce hair and strut are very 2008 and will not work in the USA; she is just another beyonce wannabe.

What is REALLY going on in the UK? Every female singer that is out as of 2015 is mixed race:

    FKA TWIGS
    Lenanne of little mix
    Lianne li havnas
    Emelie Sande
    Ella Eyre
    Fluer East
Tamara ( who has yet to realease )
    Rebecca Ferguson
Leona Lewis ( who should be dropped by now )

I just looked on the UK top 40 charts and there is not a single BLACK ENGLISH person in the single or album charts. Do THEY NOT SIGN or play black Britishj people

The UK charts are very biased and flawed. UK R&B hasn’t been popping over here for nearly two decades, and even then it was Garage/Drum&Bass/House influenced music that dominated. Mainstream US R&B peaks it’s head through every now and again, but the UK charts are plagued with microwavable dance and pop garbage. The charting system is very flawed (a lot worse than Billboard), they base the positions mainly on itunes downloads and physical shipments, rather than streaming services (which has its own chart that no one takes seriously). Take into account that the population is a lot smaller so a silver certification is big deal.
Afrobeats did well a few years ago (Fuse ODG, D’Banj, Wizkid, etc) but ultimately the music scene is whitewashed in favour of caucasian musicians artists that sing the same music that black artists do. Make of that what you will.

can you tell my mixed race girls are signed in the UK over black women?

      • AnnaliseKeatingsNewWig November 8, 2015

I’ll give you my opinion. Mixed race women are marketed as ‘ethnically ambiguous’ which is classed as aesthetically pleasing to the masses; simply because audiences from different backgrounds can visually relate to them without defining their race. Black female artists are pigeonholed into singing R&B (which as I mentioned above, is a lost cause in the UK), so it’s a lot more difficult for these women to get chart success (cc Alex Burke). Years ago women like Lisa Mafia, Ms Dynamite, Sonique, Alesha Dixon, held down the fort with garage and grime music, but that has now lost its popularity.
Black women aren’t marketed into the other genres because of bigotry and racism, even though we know damn well they can (E.g. Beverly Knight and Jamelia have done rock influenced music that has been well received.). That being said, I am pleased for any black artist that is doing their thing on UK charts (I consider mixed race to be black too ???? )

That was good , she already put out more energy in one performance than Rihanna and Rita’s whole carreers . She’s giving me little Whitney meets Beyoncé . The song is soso though. With good marketing , producing and styling she could be huge and make it to the US.

    • lisa November 8, 2015

She does not have the IT factor. Nothing about her is special. Rihanna has that something. Rita can sing and she is blonde, white with bog boobs.

      • Jake November 9, 2015

Rihanna wasn’t RIH-ANNA until she got beaten by Chris Brown and showed up to the Met Ball in that Dolce & Gabbana suit . Let’s not act like she was always huge , she was cute , then that Umbrella put her on then the whole fight thing then hiring Mariel H as stylist put her on in fashion and then all her Miley Cyrus going naked and smoking weed got her staying in the light

      • Jake November 9, 2015

Nothing IT about Rihanna except good marketing , styling , producing and an unfortunate life moment . ( and a bitchy clap back / funny personality )
