Well for one, I just want to say that somewhere above, you equated a black person wearing a African derived ensemble to a white person in black face. So, I can already see that you know next to nothing about: One-black history and Two-race relations in this country. And whether or not African Americans are aware of the specifics concerning what they have inherited from African culture is irrelevant to the fact they have inherited specifics of African culture. You must not be black, as a black person would be hyper aware of the embedment of even a fraction of African culture in their blood. Because culture can transcend time and location and has even been able to withstand assimilation in this country… At least to some extent. What I am saying is that African Americans are indeed ignorant to some aspects of African culture. But at the same time, it is impossible to attribute the entire African American experience to ‘American’ culture. And If YOU can attribute your entire identity to American culture… Then I’ll keep you on the prayer list.
