I totally never realized that! Beyoncé, of course, has the privilege to release an album even if she doesn’t get a #1 hit single because it’s known she could still shift units without them. Rihanna, on the other hand, can’t release an album unless she gets a #1 hit or at least a long standing top 5. That’s the case for most artists nowadays, however, Rihanna is a special case. She was able to release 6 consecutive platinum albums during an age where we see most Black artists struggling to go Gold. On top of the that, most of her albums also has a #1 hit. Whatever the case may be, Beyoncé does hold weight because she can release an album when she wants… Rihanna must wait to get the clearance.
Just the do re mi’s of the song tho. Barely a contribution. But the song is catchy. If it doesn’t hit number 1 or atleast the top 5 of something I will laugh my behind off.
