Celine Dion slayed everyone with just class and a real voice. Those models… just NO.
Also interesting that the supposedly biggest thing out there now (Adele) is totally eclipsed by a live showing of a 50 year-old legend who should have no voice left the way they used to use them back in the day (unlike Adele, again, who needed a whole year of vocal rest back in 2012, and then she has waited two whole years again to record again, and still, her live showings are really underwhelming).
Proofs and proofs of much much mainstream music has declined. Adele the best thing out there? Ok, I´ll have it I guess.
I take it, you’re no longer a big fan of Adele’s?
I keep thinking she is great. Her voice is extremely beautiful and she´s a good songwriter. However, the tremendous success seems too much compared to the people who used to have this type of success, she is not THAT good. Like people are like crazy with her voice, when Celine at 50 or even Lady Gaga (oscars performance, compare that to Adele´s underwhelming Skyfall showing) can sing way better than her at and live showing.
Also, Hello is a very underwhelming song imo. Coming from Rolling in the Deep and the likes, I think it is pretty generic.
I understand what you’re getting at. I think Adele’s talented, but she’s not an exceptional talent. That said, I must say that I am more impressed with her vocal abilities this time around. I hear growth. As for her music, I found most of it to be pretty bland on ’21’. This ‘Hello’ song is probably my favorite from her (along with ‘Chasing Pavements’ and ‘Someone Like You’). Although we may disagree there, I see your point overall.

Adele has nothing to do with Celine. People’s voices are different. The comparisons are stupid. Adele was phenomenal on Snll.. Celine did a good job. Demi’s performance was great & electrifying. Selena’s performance was good too. Bieber was good overall. Improvements. Alanis did her thing. Carrie Underwood was great as usual. Coldplay was cool as was Gwen. The show was lacking diversity though.
People certain things will seem underwhelming to you if you judge them against something else of another standard. For a lot of these artists, in their own realm, they did good, for what it’s worth. Everyone isn’t a powerhouse singer. You can be talented musically in many different aspects.
Furthermore, Adele recorded when the material was there. Nonetheless, she is very very talented….
