Beyonce‘s ‘Dangerously in Love‘ has reached an impressive milestone!

The effort, released in 2003, sold just over 2,000 copies in the week ending Dec. 24, bringing its cumulative total across the 5 million mark. It remains Beyoncé’s best-selling solo effort.
In addition, Beyonce has visited the top of the Billboard 200 and sold millions as part of Destiny’s Child. The group notched two No. 1s with Survivor and the greatest hits collection #1s. Destiny’s Child has four million-selling albums (including their biggest: The Writing’s On the Wall, with 6.4 million), while their total album sales stand at 17.5 million.

It’s hard to believe now but there was once a time when the future of Beyonce‘s career stood an uncertain ground following the backlash she received for the part she was unfairly accused of playing in Destiny’s Child‘s lineup changes.
Add to that the pressure of competing with the likes of Britney Spears, Ashanti, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera the odds seemed to be stacked against the star.
Fortunately, the 22-year-old’s bold and romantic exploration of Hip-Hop, Jazz, R&B, Pop and Soul on ‘Dangerously’ showcased the talent and musicality that saw her outperform each and every one of her competitors and raise the standard for what it meant to be a Pop musician at the time…and inspire her then-boyfriend Jay-Z to attempt to replicate her success with two artists who go by the names of Teairra Mari and Rihanna a year later.

I rank DIL as Beys BEST ALBUM TO DATE simply because it was just as Consistant from song to song as the LightWeight BEYONCE’ & BDAY while while still posessing STRONG Heavyweight songs that can compete with the stronger songs on 4 & IASF. I guess u can say SELF TITLED is her best tho since it was the most dynamic & perfect combination of organic POP/R&B/HIPHOP but certain songs werent that strong like no angel Xo but but its imperfections is apart of the theme so its hard to tell which album is best for me but if i had to chose the absolute best i still say DIL.
DIL is Beyonce best album to date. She has not given me anything close to that album since but she still works her ass off

I don’t use Beyonce but 5 million in the US is not bad. Compared to her contemporadies at the time, it’s less than average, but by today’s standards she did good. Beyonce’s sales were never on par with her contemporaries but she managed to outlast all of them save D!ke. One might say because she was the most consistent out of all of them but hey.

Rih is no album seller but she’s a singles seller and it still counts as something being she still holds a high rank in the industry. Personally for me bey sells simply because she is most popular. Neither bey or rih have consistent GREAT albums. DIL was the only album bey put out that has me like damn!!!! However performance is what gives bey more credit. Her team is the bomb.com hands down. People want to believe bey writes it all but really don’t understand the writing process.
