‘I Bet,’ the lead single from the performer’s sixth album ‘Jackie,’ has just been awarded the tallest of honors.

During a press interview today, the 30-year-old was formally informed that the Harmony Samuels production has reached Platinum status.

Congrats to Ci and involved with the track as well as its accompanying video (which now has 80 million + views on VEVO.
The latter is particularly noteworthy because, as widely reported, certification now factors in streaming (on top of sales).
Now, before shade brigade launch a grenade, it’s worth pointing out that that the lionshare of ‘I Bet’s qualification was earned by way of sales. Equivalent units (see: 1000 on-demand streams = 1 “sale”) are the cherry on top here.
Whatever the case, we tip our hats to Ms. Harris.

In an era where a platinum single (after months of release) means virtually nothing. I imagine a bunch of songs that flopped eventually crawl to some kind of certification in this day and age.
As much as some want to cheer the underdog, I can’t pretend to be impressed. Ciara’s music career is the equivalent of someone who has spent the better part of a decade in a coma, hasn’t naturally died, but in all likelihood will never wake up again.
