Kelly Rowland is coming.

The R&B siren has has been busy shooting her BET talent-search ‘Chasing Destiny,’ but that hasn’t halted production on her upcoming fifth solo album.

Ms. Kelly whet appetites late last year with club jam ‘Dumb,’ yet it seems as though she’s gearing up to drop more new music in a mere matter of weeks.

Full story below…

Speaking with ABC News Radio, 34-year-old Rowland said of the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Talk A Good Game’:

“I’ve recorded 45 songs to be completely honest, the challenge for me right now is solidifying like exactly what sound that is, I have three different sounds on the table. So I just want to know what that is and I feel like I have two albums…that’s not cool, I just need one.

It’s definitely more R&B and to the core of even the dance music, it’s still soul and that’s the core of who I am, is my soul, and I always want that to come across”

The report adds:

Rowland also promises to release new music next month, adding, “I’m actually gearing up for a video right now, actually in rehearsals for a video right now I’m excited about. There’s going to be a video.” She coyly adds that it will entail “much movement.”

Yes, yes, and yes at the confirmation of ample choreography! We’ve have longed to see Kelly to channel solo the “Kelly” that moved like this:

For true music heads, when there’s a true body of work (critically acclaimed VERIFIED status) I honestly could care less about sells. In alot of cases, unfortunately some of the BEST albums are slept on. It irritates me to see some artist albums get the global impact exposure with novice material only because their name is on the line. I put money had another artist did it (whatever), it would have collected dust on the shelves overall.

      • DC3 4 Life January 17, 2016

But Kelly isn’t critically acclaimed. Her albums don’t do well because she was short changed by Mathew in the beginning and has never had serious musical direction since Simply Deep. Let’s not act as if she’s this serious r&b singer who is slept on because that isn’t the case.

      • Lake Erie January 17, 2016

Her album “Talk A Good Game” was well received by many critics as a SOLID R&B album, her best since “Here I Am”. Just Google it. And again, you too are aiming at sells which I am not talking. Im talking Strickly music. F*** Matthew, his own daughter cut his ass off so he most definitely doesnt have sh!t to do with what I’m talking about. She’s a grown ass woman now, what you hear and see is what you get. I think she has found her self. That’s why I think she we back in the Lab, and changed the while title ofthat album to talk a good game. Saying she has no musical direction is funny as hell now and and if anything just sounds like straight shade.

      • DC3 4 Life January 17, 2016

What are you talking about? Nobody has ever taken Kelly serious as a serious musician capable of putting together strong albums. It’s a fact. TAGG had cute songs but that doesn’t make it the kind of album someone as respected as her should be releasing at this point in her career.

      • Lake Erie January 17, 2016

???? What am I talking about? You say Shes not able to put together strong albums and shouldn’t be putting together albums like that at this point in her career? Smh. Lol. Oooo k. Lol.

        .
Well, that’s a strong opinion, not a fact. We can leave it at that.

      • DC3 4 Life January 17, 2016

If you can listen to any album put together by Janet, Madonna, Sade, Beyonce or Gaga and think Kelly or Ciara release good albums I feel sorry for you. I know I’m not wrong because the publics response to her albums is very telling. Melanie Fiona is a good example of a good artist who doesn’t sell. Kelly isn’t.

      • Lake Erie January 17, 2016

Aaaah, you have a very debateble also controversial put together line up mentioned. Some of the artist youve mentioned (may) most DEFINITELY fall into YOUR category of what ACCEPTABLE mucic to be making @ points in careers right? ( i know, the logic was confusing to me too, but whatever). For one in particular some may refer to her as a late bloomer. But the grown woman trick got em I guess. I didnt fall for it though. (Still some cool music though) thats another post…. Melonie Fiona? Idk her first album wasn’t cohesive to me so I didn’t bother to check out the next. And bringing Ciara and kelly into this by comparing their “content” not sells shows how limited lol your discography of music may be. In which I may feel sorry for you. Again in Lamest terms, “Talk A Good Game” told a story. A solid R&B story in which the Public (who bought it) and many critics ( trigger those fingers to Google search) all thought so too. ☺

DC3 4 Life, “Nobody” is a strong word to use in regards to people who don’t “take Kelly seriously as an artist”. I’m somebody, and I have always respected Kelly’s artistry. I own ALL of her albums, even her Diva Deluxe EP (released on Itunes),and they ALL stay on repeat. I think her music breaks molds. She’s also a trailblazer (she collaborated with a European DJ, and that suddenly became an R&B trend in 2011).
I think people sleep on Kelly because Kelly sleeps on herself. I have never had a problem with her music, but I have a huge problem with her inability to follow through with her musical eras.
Kelly has a hustler’s mentality and I’m not mad at her for that; but her time management skills need work. She’s constantly taking on multiple projects at once and as a result her album promo undoubtedly suffers. “Here I Am” should have been her break-out album. She broke away from Matthew, was released by Columbia records, spent a year recording independently and still managed to produce a worldwide EDM smash with “When Love Takes Over”. This got the attention of a label head and Kelly was suddenly a Universal Motown artist. Her first official single (“Motivation”) became a chart-topping hit. This song stayed atop the R&B charts for several weeks consecutively. It became a platinum selling single, and spawned a number of remixes done by other big name artists (you know you’ve made a great song when your peers try to duplicate it). After all of this, you would think that “Here I Am” would have been flying off the shelves, but it was not,and the reason why is because Kelly dropped the promo ball. There weren’t hardly enough televised appearances or performances, and when she landed the FAME tour gig,she cut her tour time short in order to do X Factor UK. She stopped promoting the album. She expected her label to push singles for her and of course they didn’t,so the album ‘flopped’ even though it was a great body of work that produced hit singles (“Commander” and “Motivation”).
Fast forward two years later and “Talk a Good Game” is released. This is arguably the best album of Kelly’s career. So many songs were single worthy, but of course, Kelly played it safe and went with what she (and the label) thought would be Motivation no.# 2. They released “Kisses Down Low”,it was not Motivation no.#2. They then released “Dirty Laundry” as the second and final single off the album. Kelly never performed “Dirty Laundry” while on her promo tour. She performed it live while on her concert tour which she co-headlined with The Dream. But wait, she then cut that tour short to film the X Factor US and promo for “Talk a Good Game” came to a screeching halt. So the album, while great musically, still flopped. Why? Because most people didn’t know there was an album, because Kelly never promotes for the masses. She has never had a strong promotional era and she has never completed a concert tour. That’s a problem.

Kelly’s issue has never been a lack of talent or musical capability. Her issue has always been a lack of follow through and finishing what she starts, which directly effects album promotion. Kelly fails to fully dedicate herself to her music outside of what she accomplishes in the studio because when it’s time to promote,Kelly busies herself with other projects that make her money, but take her away from what her main priority should be; her music.
I can certainly understand why people are frustrated with Kelly and claim she’s a “basic artist”. Those people are basing their opinion on numbers alone. The fact is if Kelly’s albums had all been multi-platinum phenoms, people would be singing a very different tune. People today base every thing on first week metrics. Whatever happened to the ‘slow burn’ album. Kelly is a platinum selling artist. As a solo act she has pushed over 25 million units. That’s a huge deal, until you compare it to the units of other pop artist who are pulling in those numbers for one album alone, but many of those artist don’t hold a candle to Kelly’s artistry.
Just because an artist doesn’t sell well does not mean that their music sucks. It usually means that there is a missing element; and in Kelly’s case that element is time management and strategic marketing and promotion. In my opinion, Kelly is one of the best in the game artistically speaking, but so many people still don’t know it because Kelly can never get the ball Rowland (pun intended :).
Hopefully she will surprise us all with this new era. We shall see.

    Yessss I’m ready

  18. Dev January 17, 2016

I think she needs to think outside the box. most people nowadays listen to different genres of music and she could easily put together an album selecting all of the songs she’s recorded reflecting her style and it will see if done well enough.
I think the problem today is that r&b artists do either EDM/Dance for popularity or r&b, but really they could play with a lot more sounds, and as long as the album os put together well with the tracks in the right place then they could appeal to different markets and sell well.
Although not a fan, this is what Rihanna seems to do well. She has her pop and the urban.
K.Michelle is doing a country style album and what she’s previewed on instagram (apart from the title) its the best music and vocals I’ve heard from her since her own release days.

  19. Meteorite January 17, 2016

Hmm I wonder if Beyoncé will c-o-c-k block her?

    • #justsayn January 18, 2016

If Kelly has new music coming then u know Bey is too… She does it every time. Im a fan of both ladies but I think Bey will announce a tour after superbowl and new music days b4 or after SB.

  20. FC/JC January 17, 2016

    • Jamie January 17, 2016

B****** shut the fuuck up. Kelly has a ring. Ciara doesn’t so let’s re-evaluate who the h** is. Ciara’s been around. Besides, it’s just a meme. Petty ass.
