Report: Kanye West Departs Roc Nation

A few short hours remain until Kanye West draws the curtain back on new album ‘The Life Of Pablo.’

There’s no doubt that the set, which follows 2013’s ‘Yeezus,’ will generate ample conversation. Yet, so too it seems will the movement occurring behind the scenes.

Full story below…

The ever-reliable folk over at Hits Daily Double have gone live with a report touting 275,000 as the first week projection for ‘Pablo.’ However, the following extract seems to have flown under the radar of most:

Formerly managed by Roc Nation, the irrepressible, unpredictable artist now manages himself. How will this arrangement affect the album rollout?

If indeed true, it would – arguably – validate reports from last year that the rapper had severed ties with the Jay Z owned imprint. A claim that was quickly “squashed.

Jury’s out on what (if anything) that means for his relationship with Jigga (who he’s maintained as an inspiration).

At the very least, though, Ye is still supporting TIDAL – allowing the service to live stream the global launch of ‘The Life Of Pablo’ later today.

Interesting times.

Rih popularity has risen to greater heights since her last album there was anticipation how the f*** you release the biggest star on your label album by mistake I swear tidal is a mess and Kanye ain’t crazy he see the B******* over there bey and nicki together could not get tidal on the map Jay z is the type who dream big and can never deliver s*** what did bey saw in him Wendy ask that question too

The way you’ve been acting, your album better be AMAZING, Kanye. I’ve been less than impressed with the music you’ve put out over the last year and a half.

I completely agree with you. From Only One to All Day, everything he has released this year has been off. While I did appreciate No More Parties in LA and Real Friends, I need the quality forward production that he’s famous for. We’ll have to see what he’s been cooking, but the expectation of greatness only exceeds by the minute.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I’m a huge Kanye fan. Not a fan of this whole movie theater thing though.

As much I want to see my black owned business succeed, Roc Nation takes another L. From Rihanna’s ANTI rollout and campaign, to Rita’s lack of success they just seem like they can get it together. #DoBetterJay Random Sidenote: For the Hive and Navy looking for a debate, check out HOT 97’s interview from earlier today; peep the comments too!

I agree I wish rih follow behind and leave too her album would have sold much more if she stayed with island Def tidal is the f****** killer of people music rih was number one on Spotify last year a billion stream her music so why she continued with tidal on one radio morning show when they said rih going to release on tidal the announcer was like it ain’t going to work I do not care for Kanye but Jay do not know what he is doing I’m sure others will follow too

  4. Cupid February 10, 2016

I guess Jay’s recent methods aren’t pleasing Kanye. this Tidal release is bad for press. Good for tidal bad for the artist.

    • Skyfall February 10, 2016

No it’s not, Spotify is bad.

  5. ???Chile, leave my weave aqt the door and don’t steal it like those broke ass barb stans??? February 10, 2016

For him to STILL be able to push those opening week numbers, even after all the crazy obsession with Kim and random rants, is impressive. He might go platinum again. Good job for him.

    F*** Kanye, and that family.

  7. TYPE II February 10, 2016

Not kanye still able to almost TRIPLE Rihs opening #s. #460 (is that my weight or Rihsceduled gravity defying hourly sales?)

    • Jamie February 10, 2016

Uhhh…judging from your pic, certainly your weight.

  8. Sam February 10, 2016

Tbh, Apart from Beyonce, i cannot think one other artist that Roc Nation has been good to?

Apart from Beyonec and Rita Ora, who has Roc Nation been good to?

    • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 10, 2016

      cole

  9. Sam February 10, 2016

Mamma Kris will be managing him soon if not already

  10. Vandrea February 10, 2016

Much as I love the Carter’s, I’m gonna have to agree that Roc Nation is a largely failed company. J. Cole is about the only one there holding it down, and it took him several years of lukewarm success to finally to get to where he is now. The company is too ambitious and has too much going on to fully develop any one thing.

  11. janvier February 10, 2016

    J Cole has left tho.

  12. TYPE 2 February 10, 2016

I hope when Beys contract ends she starts her Own and NOT go to Roc Nation. LET RIHSLAVE do their dirty work instead of cleaning up their mess. Kanye has no buisness still being under Jayz anyway hes too old for that.

    • kmilan February 10, 2016

beyonce have her own management and label parkwood entertainment. I believe she will push parkwood entertainment to be a full fledged label of its own instead of it being under columbia as well.

  13. cocobutta February 10, 2016

Not my coin. He annoys my soul.

  14. Beachgirl85 February 10, 2016
