As anticipation builds for Ariana Grande‘s third studio album, it appears the pint sized powerhouse is making changes behind the scenes ahead of the project’s arrival.

For weeks, there have been murmurs that the singer had severed ties with industry force Scooter Braun. Yet, there had been no trace of confirmation…until today.

Details below…

Entertainment Tonight has gone live with a report asserting that the pair have indeed split, but that it had nothing to do with Braun’s primary client Justin Bieber. Instead, her desire to go in a “different direction” is touted as the reason for her decision:

They had been in partnership since 2014.

*********

The news follows the relative underperformance of Grande’s recent single ‘Focus’ and the expansion of Braun’s growing roster of artists – which now includes Tori Kelly.

Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how album cycle #3 plays out for Ariana.

She has ample talent and we’re keen to see it used in such a way that will see her maximize her skillset rather than sing songs that essentially get her from “A” to “B.”

If positioned right, she could last the distance.

Your thoughts?

I mean Ariana did push back her album and redo then Justin magically has this amazing comeback! She needs a female manager who knows how to market her and isnt a sexist. But that whole donut licking, I hate America, rant is the reason for her decline. This industry will chew you up and spit you the f*ck out!! If Scooter put in the same effort with Ariana in damage control that he did with Justin, she wouldn’t be struggling.

i hope this means she’ll stop with the pop songs and go back to a more r&b direction like with her first album and the second half of her last.

Yessssss, I have been saying this forever. I think a lot of people have noticed that lately Ariana’s perfomances and some of her music has lacked emotion and passion, but its clear that the bubblegum poppy songs just don’t do her talent justice. She can still make her pop radio hits if she wants but she definitely excels in R&B and it made her special. Babyface worked on her first album, I hope she goes back in that direction too.

Well I guess this isn’t a surprise since the failure of Focus and her disappearance from the planet. Good luck Ari

Ariana do have talent but her material of songs aren’t anything to remember or be excited for. This may be a good thing for her since Scooter seems to be more interested in Justin. That’s his money maker really.

Anybody that hires him now wil be a fool. His focus is Justin and forcing Tori Kelly down our throats. You will be put on the backburner

  6. Grande the Way February 13, 2016

Never liked Scooter as a manager. When Yours Truly came out, he paid Ariana dust will trying to save the abismal flop Justin put out called Journals. My Everything was only a success because he wasn’t managing Bieber at the same time. He has proven once again he can’t do both and that Justin is his top priority. I’m glad she left him. Hopefully Tori Kelly follows suit, her career has been put on the back burner behind Justin and Ariana. She’s going to end up like Carly Rae Jespen minus the hit

KIIII. I hope she just didn’t Leona Lewis herself.

I agree it was a conflict of interest to be managed by such a pop rival in To begin with. Like Justin and Ariana share similar fan base so if he has the chance to place or offer a spot to one artist who is he going to go to first… Of course JB.

That said I really hated “focus,” from a first listen it was bad and sounded like a “problem” rehash or remix.

That said I wouldn’t want my manager to have another high profile client. It’s fun and cute when they are new and up and comers to some extent but even then you want their full attention and availability. Especially when they are traveling with the artist to certain events like award shows, music video sets, red carpets, parties with press, etc.

Hope she does have a female manager or a new good manager so she won’t have to keep pushing her album good luck to her.
