Lyricist Lil Mama is pounding the promotional pavement in support of her comeback campaign.

Fresh from the release of ‘Memes,’ the multi-dimensional talent is tackling Rihanna and Drake‘s chart-topping single ‘Work.

Very much a visual artiste, she not only raps over the Caribbean-kissed production, she has released a remake video too.

Watch her “werk, werk, werk” after the jump…

Hats and wigs off to Ms. Mama!

Despite a few career missteps, there is no denying the talent and drive this young lady possesses. Should she keep up this momentum, she stands a plausible chance of being in the minds of many for all the right reasons.

    • You tried March 6, 2016

Her rap verse made more sense than Rihanna’s entire song! She was talking s*** and giving real hip hop vibes unlike Drake who was all over the place. Kudos to you lil mama hip hop needs female artist like you!

I enjoyed that, the rap was on point, the singing didn’t blend well, but it has this awkwardness about it that after a couple listens actually works really well. But in Lil Mamas defence trying to blend to that humm of Rihanna would prove quite tricky. Hats off to her!

Loved it. She most definitely can rap.

  9. King Mark111 /.\ March 6, 2016

I like this video more than Rihanna’s first version. She can out rap most rappers period, not just females. I don’t see the problem.

    • rosy March 6, 2016

Rih video is everything and the fact you like a non factor comparing her to a wanna be nicki minaj is tragic

      • King Mark111 /.\ March 6, 2016

Lil Mama predates Icky, out raps her and came up with that type of flow first. Don’t start

I think people have been sleeping on lil Mama and its time to take notice. This was great and fun. Her Memes song and video were DOPE, as was the mixtape its featured on. I think she is someone to recognize.

  13. well well March 6, 2016

who dat? some chris brown additive? and they tryna surf on rihanna waves? nicely calculated. now… will it work? pretty dirty blow of smoke on the hype machine.

  14. Rihboy March 6, 2016

Rapping is on 100! It’s gotten better! It hasn’t always been that way so don’t say we were sleeping on her. She been sleeping for the last several years. She just started waking up around mid last year. Furthermore girl yes for the to motion of work! First keke, then Gia hadid, Elle Varner, now lil mama. Better Stan! This was a cute rendition. It’s not better because it takes away from the cultural aspect of the Jamaican jerk spot and the passa passa theme. But lyrically a1!

  15. What Now March 6, 2016

I like it. People shouldn’t come for her because she’s living her dreams, plus why wouldn’t you want cover a #1 hit and generate a little buzz right now?

  16. eric March 6, 2016

I like Lil Mama, but as much as she talks about being a voice for the young people and helping them find direction, this is a really lousy example. I don’t want to hear any artist say “This is for the grown & s*** only,” because they know good and well how easily accessible their content is.

  17. Matt March 6, 2016

The rap part was good, but I didn’t like the singing as much.

  18. Xo March 6, 2016

It was good until she started singing … Why why would you do that?!

  19. Anti ain’t ready to talk another time March 7, 2016

Nice remix of her own and it alot of people cover Rihanna song feat drake
