The fall-out from Ciara and Future‘s relationship has played out all sorts of publicly and today was no different.
Currently engaged in defamation battle, after Ci filed a lawsuit and the rapper lodged a countersuit, the two were at loggerheads over something different – custody of their two-year-old son.

Sources connected to the former couple say Ciara showed up in court asking for sole custody of their 1-year-old son, baby Future. She claimed Future was a bad parent who was not present in the child’s life. We’re told she and her lawyer also trash talked Future to the judge, saying he was a bad person.
For his part, Future showed up and asked for joint custody, and the judge was squarely on his side, rejecting her arguments.
Sigh.

I’m not sure why she wanted sole custody and ended up losing the battle. If this report i true this means she couldn’t prove that Future is really bad enough to be a detriment to his child. I would hope that Ciara wouldn’t fight to take custody unless she truly thought Future was a bad person. Often American women aim to strip dads of custody for the sake of not agree with small details instead of putting the child’s happiness and wellbeing first. Whether you all agree with the way Future express himself or lives his adult life, if he’s able to keep it separate from his time with his Child he deserves custody just as much, if not more than, her. After all, it is his responsibility to give the baby boy fatherly love before Ciara and Russ. By it being a boy he needs his father’s guidance more than his mother’s. Both parents have rights.
