Watch: Beyonce’s Houston ‘Formation Tour’ Stop Spurs Police Protest

Still rocking across the United States on her hotly-selling ‘Formation’ tour, pop diva Beyonce took to the NRG Stadium (in hometown of Houston, Texas) last night and took the crowd to task belting some of her greatest hits and new numbers found aboard her sixth solo LP, ‘Lemonade.’

But, while the audience inside were on their feet from start to finish, there was another group on their feet and making noise outside the stadium – members of Houston’s ‘Coalition of Police and Sheriffs’ (COPS).

Standing in silent protest a mile away from the facility, the coalition’s assembly was in direct response to the singer’s alleged ‘anti-police’ SuperBowl 50 performance.  See video below:

The video above comes months after police unions across the country refused to provide security detail at the tour’s stop in their respective cities (read more on that here).

Apparently, Beyonce’s recent Elle magazine interview did little to cool their thoughts.  There, she said:

“I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of the officers who sacrifice themselves to keeps us safe,” she said.   “But let’s be clear: I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things.”  – Elle magazine, 2016

I’m anti-police! I’m just glad that Beyonce is finally using her platform as an artist to bring attention to political issues. Nobody likes an outspoken woman, much less people who actually say what others are too afraid to say!

I’m anti-police as well. Beyonce’s supposed “anti-police” message is if anything too tame considering the horrific things they’ve been doing. They can’t even handle the most mild form of criticism. Fascist pigs.

Using things as important as black-lives matter to sale records. people are dump as hell thinking whatever this woman is doing is for peoples interest. this is call smart business strategy.

Supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement are not appeasing White America. It’s stupid how certain people feel like we have to. White America doesn’t do that for Black America everrrrr. The world doesnt solely revolve around white people. This isnt apartheid or slavery. This is a modern-day issue that has been plaguing our society and it needs to stop!
The people sworn to protect us, are not protecting us. We do not feel protected or safe

OMG! Her “Me, Myself, and I” performances on this tour have been making me cry. She sings the song with such hurt, conviction, and confusion. She was MEANT to write, record, and perform it.??

  8. No favs, just here for the music May 8, 2016

They honestly look like a bunch of pissbabies and clowns with nothing better to do with their time. Why not put all of this time and effort into fixing their own corrupt system? Smh. It’s because they are content with the blatant injustice/murder of unarmed young black lives. F****** pigs.

Donald trump can say the most ignorant s*** out his mouth. Beyoncé wrote one song about loving her culture, herself, and her big nose man. But are they mad that there is truth in the way the police conduct they self with black America. I stay in Yorba Linda, California and I get harassed everyday by the police. I thought they would be over the one song Beyoncé wrote since the album is about love, marriage, and the struggle of holding on to love.

We neighbors! I live in Brea!

  15. Bravo!! May 8, 2016

I believe white America scared. The year is not 1950 and black America can only take so much. We have freedom and we can fight back. African Americans have so much influence on today culture that their scared..

  16. blue May 8, 2016

i think this is only fair, a little short sighted but fair, if she can use a huge public platform to protest, why cant those with a differing opinions?

    Nice

  18. Navy Gravy (aka Strawberry Lemonade) May 9, 2016

It seems like many white people are just waiting for their moment to openly oppose what blacks in America have had to stand up against for centuries. And then Beyoncé releases a song which is actually about celebrating her heritage and the bragging RIGHTS she deserves due to the hard work she’s put in over the last 20 years.. the song isn’t even about the message displayed in the video. and the f*ckin police actually find enough time to protest with “Police Lives Matter”? This is mockery and everyone who had the f*cking nerve to show up for this bull is PATHETIC. Who is out here shooting police because they’re police? The only people saying F*CK THE POLICE are the ones that have been effected or experienced some form of brutality or abuse of authority, I have plenty of times myself. This is the issue that should be addressed. So I won’t say f*ck the police but I will say f*ck those police who took our issue and made it their own
