Alicia Keys was recently unveiled as a judge on the next season of The Voice.
Tonight saw the 15-time Grammy winner familiarise herself with her soon-to-be-surroundings by performing new single ‘In Common’ on the final of the show’s current cycle.
Backed by an army of soul-filled dancers, Ms. Keys delivered a butter-smooth showing of the track.

Go Alicia! It’s nice to see her get her groove back vocally ?. I see she’s really going for a really earthy aesthetic this era. She’s always had that vibe since her debut although her image took a sleeker turn with 2007’s As I Am. Still, she was definitely more glamorous in 2001 than she is now. SN: I’ve been revisiting her discography lately and in my opinion, ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’ is one of the perfectly crafted R&B albums of the last decade. Shoot, it’s one my favorite albums of all time regardless of genre, period. It’s production was top-notch with great lyrics that were sung beautifully.
Diary is definitely her best work to date. I hope she returns to that sound because Girl On Fire and that attempt to make her edgy was a hot boiling mess!
I am really feeling this song more with every listen! I’m so excited to see that a new A. Keys album is on the way! She’s one of those artists that you expect to appreciate at least 70% of her new music. It’s a gem on every album (Mr. Man -> You Don’t Know My Name/Samsonite Man -> No One -> Unthinkable/ Like The Sea -> That’s When I Knew/When It’s All Over). Bring it on!
I cannot get enough of this cut. Ms. Keys outdid herself with this one. This is definitely Grammy material.

I liked the song, I just wish she had a break-out singing part in the song where she showed us what she could do vocally. There is a part of the song where tension builds and I am left wanting.
