As reported here, the tight race for the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 kept fans of Ariana Grande, Drake, and Blake Shelton on the edge of their seats until tallying ended this weekend.
A debate starter for sure as early predictions forecasted Drizzy would sell the least, but thanks to streaming, would probably retain the top spot with his hit album ‘Views.’ Conversely, Shelton – who was on track to sell the most – would probably debut the lowest of the three due to lack of streaming. Lastly, Grande – with her third album ‘Dangerous Woman’ – would potentially see her set mark the first time she missed the #1 spot.
Now, with the official numbers in, it appears the predictions were all spot on. While Drake’s set shifted 189,000 equivalent album units this week (50,000 of which were in traditional album sales), Ari’s project debuted at #2 with 175,000 equivalent album units (129,000 in pure album sales).

Hive we good, Lemonade is expected to sell 75-80k pure sales next week, actually since today is Thursday that’s when the album tracking week ends but the charts would be up on Sunday,plus streams its set to return to 105,000k and might return to number one or definitely 2 cos it outsells it’s closest competition which is Bentleys album pushing 65-70k in pure sales, in other news Lemomade is back to number one on iTunes worldwide, it’s been back at US number one since last week Thursday and hasn’t moved, if there aren’t any major album release tomorrow it will definitely be number one for next two weeks as well… Longevity #lemonade

Self titled had a longer lasting span trend wise. While Rihanna’s album is still in the top 5 being massively streamed and some more. Still top selling digital, still reigning YouTube, still has several hits, still breaking records, and still obviously a threat to the hive.
