New Song: Usher – ‘Crash’

Usher is firing out new music like bullets from a gun.

Yesterday saw the R&B star unwrap ‘No Limit’ on TIDAL, while this morning brings with it the debut of ‘Crash.’ Both are set to appear on his upcoming new album.

Co-written by the crooner and produced by Carlos St. John together with f a l l e n, super smooth jam ‘Crash’ finds the singer lyrically lovelorn.

Taken a listen below…

Clearly ‘Crash’ is the more Pop flavoured of the pair of cuts released this week.

Smartly though, it avoids the plight of Usher’s more recent mainstream outings by embracing minimalism.

Much like ‘Climax,’ which also featured EDM elements, this serves as a soulful fusion of R&B, Pop, and Dance. The end result makes for a compelling and mass appealing listen.

I love the fact usher is diverse however I like no limit much more than this! But I am positive people will love this more than no limit. Good work usher!

    • JT ALL DAY June 10, 2016

      This is mediocre

      • Noah June 10, 2016

Coming from a JT fan?? The guy whose song at #1 sounds like a rip off of Bruno Mars mixed with Pharrell? Justin Timberlake is the FACE of mediocrity, absolutely no creativity whatsoever in that new single…no way u can tell me it was worthy of being #1.

  2. JT ALL DAY June 10, 2016

    Bow out gracefully Usher.

  3. Charlieyoncé June 10, 2016

I was scared to listen to Crash at first because out of all the songs he released before this I only liked ‘I Don’t Mind’. However, to my utter surprise this song had me at first listen. It’s different, almost refreshing and I can actually see it ascending up the charts because of its massive pop appeal. He did a great job in my opinion and I’m totally here for this song. ???

    • john bieber June 10, 2016

As I thought some people would love it more. Aint nothing wrong with that

    • Noah June 10, 2016

The fact that u liked “I Don’t Mind”…which the majority of his fanbase despise, really suggests the different types of listeners Usher caters to. Agree with u though, this one is refreshing.

  4. Sisqo is King June 10, 2016

Usher is done!! Except it and move on

I had a good laugh in the previous usher post.People compared him to CB,JT and TS.This just shows how basic he is.

    • Noah June 10, 2016

CB is generic as shizzle, he goes off the hook because he has no signature sound and holds no commercial expectation, JT is mediocre as well and garners way more success that he actually ever merits. If ur not gona conclude that Royalty album is basic or JT’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling”…don’t critique Usher in such a biased way. Sisqo? Buhaha, i see u like everyone but Usher! Unfortunately neither of them will ever be as accomplished.

      • Bruh June 10, 2016

BET did biography about Usher career I guess you watched this week because they dragged sisqo. As Usher said himself a long time ago Sisqo is a failure and now those words have never been more true.

      • Sisqo is King June 10, 2016

When I mean basic I’m taking about vocals.Usher is just as good as neyo.He is average when it comes to singing, he doesn’t blow me away vocally. When it comes to his music, that’s mediocre too.Usher hasn’t released Anything groundbreaking since confessions.I’m not a fan of JT,CB or TS.I’m just trying to explain to you that there’s no difference between JT,Usher, CB, TS.They release the same basic R&B music.
What about Sisqo? The Grammy Nominated, multi platinum recording artist, one of the best live singers the industry has ever witnessed.Sisqo slays usher vocally.

    • Coolness June 10, 2016

Omg, I saw your username and I just remembered that The BET Life of Usher aired this week and they touched on Sisqo and Usher’s ‘R&Beef’. I LIVED for how no holds barred they were with their shade/dragging of each other ???! Don’t play yourself though. If Usher is done, it’ll be after a good 15 of commercial success. Sisqo, however, hasn’t been it since like 2001.

    • Sisqo is King June 10, 2016

You guys are always trying to downplay sisqo yet remember his beef with usher in 2000. Sisqo does not care.He is living a happy life with his wife and beautiful children.Sisqo still tours off his hits so he is makin money.Let it go.

      • #PURPOSE June 10, 2016

But there is a difference between Usher touring and Sisqo touring. Usher sells out arena and stadiums without even releasing new music. Whereas Sisqo is lucky if he can sell out a college auditorium or a flea market. Usher is a R&B legend and he’s still being played on radio and influencing every major Pop or R&B male artist that has come out. TBH you should not be making any comment about Usher especially when he ended your fave’s career after 8701 and buried it with Confessions and years later Usher is still going strong.

    • Noah June 10, 2016

“Usher is just as good as neyo. He is average when it comes to singing, he doesn’t blow me away vocally. When it comes to his music, that’s mediocre too.Usher hasn’t released Anything groundbreaking since confessions.”

LMAO are u for f****** real? Just as good as Neyo? Usher is similarly with his tone but much stronger than Neyo and his falsetto is BAR-NONE. “average”? U must have never heard him sing live and destroy ballads like “Bedtime” and “U Got It Bad” or his Grammy winning falsetto-based “Climax” that leans the whole genre forward. When u say “groundbreaking” ur just talking about commercial sales and not quality. The “Here I Stand” album is contemporary R&B at its highest level in depth and maturity, absolutely superior singles like “Moving Mountains” that makes from Sisqo all the way to Chris Brown seem “Basic”. Ur conclusions are based on ignorance, his post-Confessions has had lyrically and vocally solid R&B songs that implement natural elements from back-up vocalists to instruments like drums and violins (There Goes My Baby/Dive/Good Kisser). Usher’s R&B is undoubtedly better than Sappy JT, and heavily hip-hop infused Chris Brown.

Vocally, I agree that Sisqo is great, but Usher is definitely a competitor. Sisqo’s tone has this rasp to it and he can belt much harder than Usher only to the point where he sounds like he’s straining his voice, has a very ugly technique too. Sisqo=Usher vocally. Too bad his dropping trouser/wearing chain styles that he ripped from Usher weren’t good enough to save his directionless mess of music.

    • Rosicky June 12, 2016

FOH Sisqo vocally ain’t s***, u smoking crack, he just has a thicker tone than Usher that’s it, he’s music is garbage, go fall back on Dru-hill, no need for Usher identity stealing rip-off. Ur dumb if u think Usher is on par with all these n*****, he’s the best selling R&B Male over the last 2 decades. 44M albums WW, 22M alone in the US, 9 #1 Hot 100 singles…whose more accomplished? Superior to any name u mentioned. JT gets categorised as Pop even when he does R&B.

  5. s.a June 10, 2016

the artwork is so dope and unique.

  6. #JACKIE June 10, 2016

Better than that other single, but still not good enough.

    • Noah June 10, 2016

      Agree.

  7. Coolness June 10, 2016

Cute. The thing is, you can tell that Usher – much like Beyoncé – has a voice that has matured really well over time. He’s been solid vocally since 8701 but there’s a crisp quality to his vocals now that I love. Which is why I can’t understand for the life of me why he hasn’t been able to get his ear for music right for almost 10 years. If anything, it’s when he’s a featured artist that he shines because be bodied Chris on New Flame and took ownership of Yuna’s Crush like it was his own song. Anyway, this is a lil’ better than No Limit. It’s a good fusion of sounds. I just want an album with a DAMN THEME and not just a bunch of songs thrown together. Good luck though.

  8. Jacob June 10, 2016

This audio is different then the one on iTunes!

  9. #JACKIE June 10, 2016

Climax and There Goes My Baby were the best songs he’s released since 2005.

    • BEY>RIH June 10, 2016

Also Love in this Club pt. II, Hey Daddy, and I love Lemme See

      • What Now June 10, 2016

        Hey Daddy was my bop!

      • #JACKIE June 10, 2016

Love In This Club was EVERYTHING! I barely remember the other two, TBH.

  10. s.a June 10, 2016

his name is on the stake but songs that he is delivering is not up to the mark and expectations of fans to b honest. Feel sad for USHER coz he is working so hard probably hardest than any other male artist. I just pray that he succeeds.

  11. s.a June 10, 2016

i just cant take my eyes of the artwork its brilliant. Now i know why he wasnt shaving lol

  12. Tina Lord Roberts June 10, 2016

** SIGH ** Well it’s not as bad as I expected it to be, but I’m not all excited about it either.

  13. NickiBaby June 10, 2016

Wow another FLOP in two days. I don’t know what he’s going to do at this point. His record company RCA is not going to keep allowing him to push his album back. He should just release the album and accept the FLOP.

  14. Tori June 10, 2016

As one of the few artist with a diamond album, he can flop if he wants. This song is a great summer slow jam and sounds like a song he wanted to do because he loves it. This doesn’t sound radio oriented like the songs he felt like would catch on. This is so refreshing from the B******* we hear everyday, and that’s the reason why climax caught on, it was refreshing. This is not a LEAD single, just good music. Some of y’all act as if he’s a male Ciara…no sweetie, he has more under his belt than any male artists out now.

  15. DTG June 10, 2016

Poor Usher. I can already see this new album struggling the same way his last one did, or worse. I guess he’s gotten to the “it’s about the music, not the sales” point that all veteran acts face when the writing is on the wall that the pop world has turned on them.

    • ? June 10, 2016

What? The pop station played his new single with young thug yesterday

  16. What Now June 10, 2016

This is cute, but he’s going to have come way harder bc he hasn’t had an album out in so long, plus he’s delayed his upcoming project for the last 3 years so many times, that I’ve lost count.

  17. Noah June 10, 2016

Not saying Usher can’t do better, but i’m almost certain that if either Beyonec/JT/Chris Brown were to release this…they wouldn’t get half as much s***.

Chris Brown holds no standard for his quality and anybody can see just how average JT’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is…but when he does R&B, he’s better than usher, then when he does Pop – he’s The Prince of Pop. This single would shoot to #1 guaranteed.

Beyonce’s album has MANY trap-style influenced songs, while she drops F-bombs as a mother in her mid-30’s…embracing more thuggary/rapping and chasing Rihanna’s audience. It is unlike Beyonce is MANY ways, yet NOBODY questions this.

    • eric June 10, 2016

      All true.

    • #JACKIE June 10, 2016

Oooooops at the last statement ?

    • Danzou June 10, 2016

No you’re right I have questioned it but hey Beyoncé fans never admit to her flaws. I like bey a lot but it is what it is. She’s all of a sudden trying to be rihanna. Everybody knows that rihanna is the industry bad girl. But hey.

    • Stav June 10, 2016

The nerve of a fan of Usher to talk about a singer not acting their age. Trying to be Rihanna? :::blank stare@you::: Then I guess Usher is trying to be Chris. Usher is almost 38, which rounds to 40…but still tries to come across as 22. Usher has been in pre-mid life crisis ever since he introduced Bieber. The fool is actually wearing skinny jeans and mohawk fros like some late stage swaggot millennial. Please. Back off. I like Usher well enough and would rather not have to be harsh about him, but I can and I will if this tone continues. Beyonce has always had a edgier, crassier side that presents itself when the mood hits…from “Ring the Alarm” to “Diva” to “Flawless” to now. Unlike Rihanna, Bey knows when to turn it on and when to turn it off.

      • Bruh June 10, 2016

Would you Shut Up! Your really coming at Usher wearing skinny jeans ? Did you forget we are in 2016? That’s been the f****** fashion for the past 6 years and if he hasn’t has a Mohawk since 2014 on top of that Beys husband is or 40 and still dresses like that. There’s nothing wrong Usher using a lil bit of Chris style and there’s nothing wrong with Bey using a lil bit of Rihanna style. It keeping them relevant and afloat amongst the young people .When Chris and Rihanna first broke out in the music scene he used Usher style and Rih used Beyoncé style so it is was it is. Every artist take influence from another artist whether older or younger

      • Noah June 10, 2016

U must be stupid, when on earth did i imply that Usher was acting his age? The whole point of my referencing Beyonce was to emphasise that he’s simply not the ONLY one. And Usher, like u said about Beyonce, EXACTLY turns it Off/On. U know damn well he’s singles before this were reflective of his age, especially lyrically. He’s always turned it off and on. Releasing “Good Kisser”, then releasing “I Don’t Mind” who cater to contrasting ages is an example.
Moving on, Usher is 37 and doesn’t even look it. He started the mohawk at 33…that’s NOT old. Being 10 years older than Chris Brown, he is only old relatively speaking. 33 itself was never old, but ppl have always perceived that he’s clinging to childhood. It’s just that Chris Brown came into the industry too young (16) while was Usher just 25…since then it’s been as if ppl were trying to rush him over his phase, purely because Chris Brown existed, while not realising that he’s still young. Getting married at 28 didn’t help that either. So i will not “back off”, i’m not saying Usher doesn’t deserve criticism, i’m emphasising that he gets way too much compared to his peers. Beyonce does deserve criticism; Usher has just been less subtle with his full blown EDM songs so he’s more exposed to it. But as of now, some of the things Beyonce is pretty much shocking imo.

      • Yo June 10, 2016

I swear the Bee-Hive just be talking when their defending their fave they just be saying s*** and it don’t even make no damn sense. Kanye West and Jay Z is older than Usher and they all dress like they 18. Kanye West is understandable because he’s a fashion icon, Usher is except able because he doesn’t even look like he is 37, Jay Z is wayyyyy over 40 dressing like a MAN CHILD that’s Beyonces husband. As long as Usher is dancing, taking care of himself and keeping up with the trend musically and fashionably he’s still gonna be accepted amongst the Breezy or Bieber fans.

    • RihYonce June 10, 2016

So we are just going to ignore “Diva” In 2008 & upgrade in 2006 , kitty Kat ? Beyoncé been rap singing since the 90s in “No No No” Rih all of a sudden is bad ass in 2012 and y’all forget that she just started this because she brain washed y’all with all these albums every year

  18. Black power June 10, 2016

At this point Usher has nothing to prove to anyone!!! His accomplishments and resume speak for themself!

With that being said I’m really rooting for him and this era..

  19. DMWN June 10, 2016

Not feeling it at all. I guess I just gotta reconcile that the 1994-2008 Usher that I once knew and loved is dead.

  20. eric June 10, 2016

This sounds like something you throw together when you’re obligated to fulfill a contract and you don’t care about your brand and legacy. Usher has been stuck in this seriously boring phase for too long. He can do better. He needs to wake up and get serious!

    • ? June 10, 2016

Oh simmer down. He’s not gonna release his first single as a R&B soul record. This song is fine it’s a pop record. Usher is not gonna release another Confessions because that sound is gone. You all talk about brand this legacy that. He has a brand that’s why he has to make music like this to sell cause that’s the type of music the GP craves. On top of that his legacy will always be seen through the young artist like Justin Bieber,Chris Brown,Trey Songz,Neyo he has influenced them all and for Christ sakes he released the Mordern Thriller :CONFESSIONS

  21. Walker June 10, 2016

He’s been working on this album for how long now (even scrapped the first draft and started over at one point) and this is what he finally puts out. This and that other song from yesterday is some Mariah/Elusive Chanteuse-type garbage.

  22. UR June 10, 2016

Make you say uhhh… No limit.

  23. J-Mar June 10, 2016

I’m A Usher Fan And Honestly I Can Say I’m Not Feeling No Limit And This Song They Both Are Not Single Worthy He Sound Come Harder Way Better Than This Is Garbage.

  24. tyana0001@yahoo.com June 10, 2016

    Usher is a flop now.

  25. Ron June 10, 2016

This is the Usher that became a legend. Creating his own lane and having tunes.

  26. tyana0001@yahoo.com June 10, 2016

But nobody cares about him no more.

  27. Danzou June 10, 2016

I like no limit way better. But I’m ratchet so.

  28. s.a June 10, 2016

these arent the songs that usher is known for not a single song is what we call an ‘USHER’ signature song it clearly shows he is catering to young demographic like that of jb,trey songz, chris brown and etc. 1 more thing is that ever since L.A reid has r.c.a usher has fallen terribly he seriously needs to leave his career in the hands of Jonetta Patton or he will flop like this only coz 1 single cant bring him into the scene for creating history he needs atleast 3-4 solid singles.

    • tyana0001@yahoo.com June 10, 2016

You’re right usher needs retire Chris Brown has been taken over usher while now only not Chris jb,trey songz.

      • Yo June 10, 2016

What?? I love Chris but he is struggling right now its like he’s being replaced by Drake,Justin Bieber,Jason Derulo and The Weekend. The Last time Chris really took over was 2014 but all these other guys are slaying him right now

      • Noah June 10, 2016

U dumb as soup. ALL of Chris Brown’s singles were FLOPS, with “Back To Sleep” as an exception (which he squeezed 3 remixes out of). His last 3 albums are yet to outsell Looking 4 Myself. Cocain Brown is a flop, he is only relevant to “young” fanbases. Before these two singles, Usher had an actual hit, Breezy hasn’t had a real one since Loyal FOH.

      • ? June 10, 2016

Idk bout Derulo. But Drake,Justin Bieber, and The Weeknd definitely took attention off of Breezy especially on urban radio and the charts. I even saw someone making comments on Twitter during an award show saying “Someone tell Chris we don’t need him anymore we have Justin bieber” when all the new male artists came out including breezy everyone tried saying that Usher is done. But Usher proved himself and stayed afloat. Let’s see if Chris can hold his own against the other male artist cause they are kicking his ass right now

  29. King Mark111 /.\ June 10, 2016

Hope restored. And lol at that Crisqo stan. And it’s “accept” not “except”. smh

  30. RihYonce June 10, 2016

Usher is the King bottom line. No other male performer alive is touching him.

  31. s.a June 11, 2016

usher is the king no doubt but since L4M he is completely brainwashed i mean if u look at his urx tour thats a complete mess. He is not sticking to his roots rather going for pop culture.

  32. Reddish tran ivy blokz Need UK timelyyou June 13, 2016

Not a bad song it pretty cool song
