Alicia Keys is hard at work pushing new single ‘In Common’ on European shores.

The anthemic cut is the lead release from the 15-time Grammy winner’s eighth studio album, which is due late summer.

British show ‘Graham Norton’ was the latest stage to welcome the songbird to perform the track.

Watch Ms. Keys hit all the right notes after the jump…

Yet another solid showing of the song.

We’re conflicted, though.

On the one hand, we’re keen for Alicia to persevere with her promotional efforts for the single – as it’s easily one her best in years and could prove a slow burner commercially.

But, on the other, there’s evidence to suggest she should she move on to its follow-up ASAP. One of the most important reasons being that the song’s video seems to have stalled at 2 million views – which won’t aid its chances in today’s streaming age. And with digital sales scant, makes for a tricky predicament.

Either way, we heard several tracks from the LP at an exclusive London showcase and it’s sounding phenomenal. As such, even if hits are scarce this era, fans can feel confident that a stellar body of work is on its way.

Lots of flat and off key notes, but overall I enjoyed the chill cafe vibe of the performance. Wtf is she wearing though?

FLAT NOTES?? COMING FROM A CIARA FAN..THERE’S A JOKE THERE, I JUST CAN’T PLACE MY HAND ON IT.

From a Ciara stan… I swear you do the most trolling.
Yeah, Goodies was the first album I ever bought, it gave me life at the age of 9, but Ciara has been weak…

and I have to give it to Rihanna, vocally, she has improved A LOT. Like the bish has me like “tf did them vocals come from?”

Ciara, not so much. Her national anthem rendition was off key, to say the least.

Yes b**** I’m a Ciara stan, and? I said what I said. Remain pressed!

This song is such an underrated bop!! Amazing production and probably one of the few interesting innovative songs released this year. Of course it’s heavily influenced by Drakes ‘Take Care’, so much so that there should really be a sampling credit. It makes me realise how ‘Take Care’ was so ahead of its time.

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) June 5, 2016

I completely agree, i really like it. But u’re right it does sound like something off TAKE CARE tho.

      • Annalise June 5, 2016

Exactly! I love the song tho, but I have to be honest the beat sounds very similar! I would love Drake to jump on a remix tho, that would be so lit!!! ??

Not when Take Care sounds just like I’ll Take Care of You by Jamie XX

When it comes to promo, Alicia gets it right even though the music may not always be hitting (see the Girl On Fire era for instance). Most R&B artists would kill for the prestige she still has attached to her name and the way her team book these high-profile appearances. With that being said, this was a solid performance. I’m so happy she’s in better shape vocally these days because I was worried about what was up with her vocal cords with her last album (her issues really began with As I Am though). Good luck to her.

So basically TGJ is saying to jump to the next single because this current single isn’t a hit? Now, I remember yall dragging Usher and Rihanna, calling them desperate for hits…

  5. Jamon June 5, 2016

This will be her sixth studio album TGJ, not eighth. I’m liking this song, I will purchase it today.

I’m sure Alicia Keys and her team knows what they are doing. She has always delivered those R&B hit’s. I’m sure she’s going to be a strong Grammy contender next year, at least in the R&B field

I love the song, currently my favorite ☺️

No one cares, Alicia. You messed up by screwing a married man

    • What Now June 6, 2016

Why be hard on AK when Ciara messed with a bunch of single men and no one still cares?
