Pop diva Christina Aguilera climbed to vocal heights on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight.

The songbird hatched the first live performance of new song ‘Change,’ the new number released in support of the victims of Orlando’s Pulse Night Club tragedy.

Upon its debut last week, the track (proceeds from which go to the families of the affected) leaped into the top 20 of the US iTunes tally.

Can it soar higher? Watch Xtina in action below and let us know…

Impressive.

Aguilera has the unfortunate fortune of being such a gifted vocalist that folk are ready, willing, and able to dissect her every note. A practice, which if employed here, may not see this serve as her most “epic” showing.

Still, it was an honest and heartfelt performance that was well-executed.

    QUEEN!

    • LISA LEVINE June 24, 2016

Queen? No no no. She has not had a hit in 5-9 years. She refuses to embrace the RnB/Soulful elements in her voice so she tries to be edgy. STRIPPED was a success because it was soulful (LOVING ME 4 ME, SOAR, Walk away). She continues to want to be baby gaga. Embrace the RnB and release that heartbreaking soulful CD. (until then we have Mariah and Adele).

Spot on! I’ve wanted the contemporary R&B album by her and another by P!nk for years. Since early 00s.

      • Maurice June 24, 2016

LISA, must you be someone who has number 1 hits to be considered a Queen?
Take it from Beyonce, link below, who said that these h0es out here have all these smash hits, but their albums are crap and sloppy consistently because they don’t invest time in making solid records. Xtina is still delivering.

She needs to do the soulful heartbreaking record that her voice crys for. Stop playing Christina and make it happen. Its in your voice. Everytime she grabs that mic and closes there eyes that voice just sparkles in dark smokey club magic. Stripped was a masterpiece.

hadn’t heard the song when it came out but really like it.
it’s cute. hopefully this will chart so that she can them coins together and donate to the families who lost their loved ones on that tragic day.
And that hair on her is slaying for my life.

  2. MusicFan103 June 24, 2016

I absolutely hate the red hair on her. She looks so much better with the dark black look from Stripped era if not her usual blonde. I would even prefer a medium brown over this shade of red.

    #shrug

Great cause. Horrible song, vocals, styling and hair! Sounded like a constrain strain in her vocal chords every time she went there. Maybe just a bad night.

    • LISA LEVINE June 24, 2016

Your miserable and deaf. Pick a struggle hunnie. She is in great voice here. She is NOT horse, she hit every B perfectly. She sounded perfect. Corny song thou. But those vocals were solid for “her”.

    • What Now June 24, 2016

Yea she seemed to be straining the entire time.

I don’t get how anyone can complain about these vocals. Christina was in good voice, sounded clear and more controlled than she has been in years! There was a little rasp at the end, but it was all a very solid effort! Btw, Christina is becoming so much more attractive as she gets older! She has a s** appeal bubbling underneath the surface, that’s not overdone. That really works for her!

    • Meteorite June 24, 2016

I second that. I thought she sounded phenomenal here.

Hey also Genie In A Bottle turned 17 years old on June 22nd!

  7. #JACKIE June 24, 2016

She was off key on a lot of parts, especially the falsettos. She looked cute though.

  8. S****** Blonde June 24, 2016

I agree with Royalkev, she sounds great, there is not a perfect vocalist unless you’re delusional.

  9. Coolness June 24, 2016

I think the reason why Christina’s vocal performances are so heavily scrutinised is because of the “Voice of Her Generation” title that was bestowed upon her by the media in the early aughts. Whether rightfully merited or not, that’s a huge expectation to live up to so when her vocals started showings signs of decline, people went in for the kill. Personally, I think she sounded lovely here. Yes, her belts are raspier than before and she was a lil’ off with her lower register but overall, it was a good showing. At the end of the day, it’s the thought that counts so I commend her for taking a stand.

People critique Xtina’s vocals so hard but praise girls who she’ll sing CIRCLES around. Stop. This performance was very solid… Keep in mind, this is just a charity single by the way. The new era is upon us & i have faith that Christina will NOT disappoint …!

  11. JOHNVIDAL June 24, 2016

The discussion is pointless since we already know what the deal is: Christina sounds good, very good, in certain registers, but sounds awful (although with much power) when belting. It has always been like that and her voice has never been one of those which have it all. Of course it got worse over the years, during the relese of Bionic she still was sounding like she always used to. It was after Bionic when she really started to sound worse. She still is better as an artist than many and her albums can always be interesting, unlike a Britney for example.
But it is a fact she doesn´t have anything on people like Mariah and the likes. For so many reasons.

    • S****** Blonde June 24, 2016

Awful is a strong word, specially coming for someone who thinks Gaga is the best singer since Mariah ?

      • JOHNVIDAL June 24, 2016

When the hell have I said Lady Gaga is the best singer since Mariah??? (meaning since any artist that has debuted after 1990?). When exactly? You are so damn blind by hate. It is ridiculous. Yes Xtina´s BELTING has almost always sounded awful and you cannot deny it, definitely not. It´s a fact. I still give her props where props are due. Something you cannot do when it´s time because of you hate for a couple of artists. And now that you mention it: Yes, Gaga right now demolishes Xtina Aguilera as a singer. Having more natural power doesn´t mean anything. Something you yourself say a lot of times… but Oh well, if it is Lady Gaga then you better use every single fake argument you can, right? Blah… you were so much better a long time ago. Just music, never hate.
