As if the summer isn’t already hot enough, July has simply been brimming and blazing with highly anticipated releases from some of pop’s heaviest hitting female artists.
Just last night alone pop princess Britney Spears and Katy Perry dropped their long-awaited new releases. For fans of Spears, the new song, ‘Make Me,‘ came after a year-long await and followed the failed, Iggy Azalea-assisted ‘Pretty Girls.’ For #KatyCats, the tune, ‘Rise,’ follows releases found from her 2013 chart-topping set ‘Prism.’
Spears may have shot to #1 on iTunes quicker than her competitor, but Perry’s fanbase is already ‘roaring’ loud and clear as they (as of time reporting) have hoisted their leader to the digital tally’s top spot.
Yet, while the two pop princesses are getting the most buzz around their respective releases, fans of Tinashe are still moving and grooving to her Dream-produced cut ‘Superlove.‘ The song, also released last night, is getting a thumbs up from some of the same critics who can’t keep their fingers off the ‘play’ button to bump July’s other hot releases – Fergie‘s ‘M.I.L.F. $’ and Zayn‘s ‘Cruel.’

Katy’s single was the best. She delivered substance. Britney is once again clinging to the white rapper flavor of the month. Her song is cute but sounds like Selena Gomez’s Good For You imo. Her singles are always heavy frontloaded. Katy will outpeaked and outsell her in the long run. And this isn’t even KP4’S lead single. Tinashe missed the spot but I still want her to slay. Fergie could’ve kept that hot mess.
Honestly, she’s obviously maturing in her songwriting and it clearly shows in this new track. Let the others hate cause at the end of the day I can see her being nominated for an Oscar for a ballad. She won.

I am the biggest Fergie fan but her single from first listen to now is not the business. Especially in comparison. its not bad album track materiel, but I do not think that it was single materiel. I hope a remix or something helps bring it back down on iTunes chart.

Tinashe’s single is great as again album materiel but terrible as a new lead single for her. Her team continuously keeps ruining her chances of finding a hit song for radio remotely as big as “2on.” It’s a shame because she is beautiful, can dance, and sings alright. She should not be struggling this hard for success.

Katy’s single is not bad for what it is for. As an inspirational song. I just would have fathered her to release a more upbeat or Pop-py song like how “Roar” was a big hit for her and still motivational. I guess she wanted to be more mature about it. Even “Firework” has a bigger chorus that would have been more appreciated.

Britney’s single was a pleasant surprise and the best I have heard so far. I really liked it and what sells me on it is the strong catchy chorus. Not to mention it is such a better song than her 2013 album/singles and “Pretty Girls.” So it seems like a comeback to catchy Pop oriented music by her and it has a nice s*** vibe to it.

Katy perrys is the most logical! The only problem I have is that rise is boring and too anthem like. Just like roar which after two weeks became so annoying to me. But the production of this song is amazing. Make me by Brit is the most listenable. I actually missed her. The song for me falls flat. It’s definitely better than previous attempts. But still isn’t giving me Britney. If you understand. I feel like plenty of people are trying this new era new sound thing and are failing miserably. Yassss Brit!!!!. Britney’s debut track is such a different and unexpected sound. I did not anticipate hearing from this type of direction from her. I LOVE IT, especially seeing where music is where it is now, she has found her new place musically. It is so melodic and r&b-esque, and the beat is infectious. I instantly loved the new sound sound, along with G-Eazy on the track.
I agree with many people here: all of them are mediocre and forgettable stuff. I can´t believe I´m going to say this about talentless Britney Spears but she may have the best song among all these crap releases 🙂
