New Song: Fifth Harmony – ‘Voicemail’

Fifth Harmony sprung a surprise on fans today with the addition of new song ‘Voicemail’ to the streaming version of their ‘7/27’ album.

Though an unusual move, it’s most definitely a welcome one.

Listen below to find out why…

Yes, yes, and yes!

With its anthemic chorus, the cut gives a nostalgic nod to the fist-pumping girl-power tracks of the late 90’s/early 00’s.

Its production isn’t far removed from said era either, as on  first listen it sounds as if it’d be at home (and in bed) with any Nsync effort or peak-time Britney.

And while some may therefore dismiss this as a cute journey down memory lane, we hope bigger things are in store for the track. For, it’s easily (easily) better than much of what the final ‘7/27’ tracklist. What’s more, in a climate which saw Megan Trainor smash with ‘No,’ there’s approximately no reason why this can’t slay the same way.

Camilla should have had more singing parts, she is the star of the group.

Sounds too Nsync, early 2000s pop to me but it’s most definitely a grower.

She’s really not. That one girl that sings the “I wanna feel you on, feel you on my body” or whatever in their current hit voice is amazing and stands out the most. Normani is still the star, stand out and pop appeal. imo

It actually sounds like Just Another Girl by Monica. Again, very early 2000s. I like it tho. I think they got it now, they sound great, very pop yet urban. And they actually look like a group now. I just wonder how are they getting paid with 5 plus cuts.

The lyrics are very Bey inspired. Overall the song is a bop, 8/10

I cannot stand when yall hate every day on a certain artist which is usually a woman cuz yall are cowards then turn right around and hop on the wagon with a single.

This song is pretty good compared to the the bulk of 7/27. I was sure they would’ve gone in a more urban pop lane with the album, but was disappointed with the lackluster pop garbage that actually made the album. Their management completely dropped the ball and the album suffered for it.

Lately I’ve been living for 5th Harmony. I agree that their album was little lack luster but, this is a bop tho

    Nice song

This song is pretty legit. Lauren is the star of the group. I hope she gains her confidence back to realize that she needs to be a solo artist. And I also agree with 7/27: lackluster. There are many unforgettable songs on it. Their first album was much better.
