The 2016 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors popped all the way off last night live from the Lincoln Center in New York City.

Erected in honor of rap pioneers Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, and Salt-N-Pepa, the show brought fire-filled performances. Both from and in tribute to the ladies.

Indeed, the likes of Diddy, Fantasia, Monica, Remy Ma, Nelly Furtado, and Tweet saluted the iconic femcees.

Easily the best Honors show we’ve seen in recent memory.

Crush On You/No Time/All About The Benjamins (Lil’ Kim Performance Tribute) – Lil Mama, Teyana Taylor, French Montana and The Lox

Queen Latifah + Friends Perform U.N.I.T.Y.

Queen Latifah + Guests Perform A Medley Of When You’re Good To Mama/Come Into My House/Had It Up 2 Here/Monie In The Middle/Ladies’ First

    Congrats Queens ????

  2. BeyKnowlesBest July 12, 2016

Teyana Taylor did her thing honoring Queen B!!

  3. Mark111 July 12, 2016

I still don’t know why Spinderella is always there when her name is not part of the group. Queen is just that, she’s one of the few that is successful in different fields, Loke J. LO. Missy is just an artist and writer. She’s just so freaking amazing with her creativity. Who’s the White woman in the top left?
    .
Nicki proves yet again that she’s not pro woman nor black woman. She selfish and only cares about herself. But this was still a great show with GREATS. A clown was not needed.

    • wrosy3 July 12, 2016

The show was really good that’s what you call a tribute where the women sound just like the artists Lil Kim looks good for a white woman oh well but queen latfah is everything this is the first show i could watch all the way through with everyone sounding good on stage

      • The true Danzou July 12, 2016

#wrosy3 your just a hater everyone can see Lil’ Kim is black but fools like you keep on hating because your life is so sad and not going anywhere… Bye hater ??

      • wrosy3 July 12, 2016

I love Lil Kim and she looks good for someone who is bleaching it is her choice to do what she wants with her body I sympathsize with her hearing about her father calling her ugly people don’t understand you can carry in securities throughout life from parents who suppose to make you feel beautiful but she is truly the queen b she deserve the award

    • Kwinzy July 12, 2016

What’s an EBT award 7 years in a row to a Hip Hop Honor award over 20 years in the game??

      • wrosy3 July 12, 2016

Let the insults go on this one those women that were honor pave the way for others queen latifah is a role model she is rich b**** queen is not a has been she helps a lot of people in the industry and relevant

  4. KenyaInFormation July 12, 2016

Lil Kim Ju Hi looks a mess. I dont know if she is still an Asian lady or Becky from Scandinavia

    • The true Danzou July 12, 2016

Your mum looked a mess when you was born and she saw how your face looked she knew then that she shouldn’t has slept with her brother.

  5. LISA LEVINE July 12, 2016

Best award show ive seen in recent years. Excellent performances, no special effects on stage just talent. Foxy Brown and Nicki shame on you for not appearing and saluting these queens.

    EXCELLENT SHOW

    • wrosy3 July 12, 2016

Let’s see if nicki is going to be known in 30 years like salt and pepa people today remember those women been honor over foxy and nicki

  6. Kwinzy July 12, 2016

Teyana straight bodied Lil Kim’s aura and gestures circa 1996. My gawd! That was amazing. Shoot outs to Lil Mama with that high kick. Dej surprised me as well. There was a fashion show segment which showed Kim’s contributions to fashion. Loved Missy’s tribute too. Salt n Pepas was meh. It’s amazing how almost every big name & up and coming female rapper was there to support yet Onika was M.I.A. Hmmm she must really want karma to come for that a**

  7. Chillitsjustpizza July 12, 2016

Nicki this is what u call female unity. Karma b**** karma.

  8. Kitty Puurrzz July 12, 2016

Monica looks & sounds amazing!!!!! Great show & congrats to all the ladies!

  9. D July 12, 2016

That was amazing I enjoyed every part of it. I loved how all the woman was there.
Except foxy brown they should’ve honored her too.
Mia x ,gangsta boo, la chat, shawnna (dtp), jaki_o , khia etc
    However overall good show
I loved seeing all the woman there rih digga omg and Ms.jade

  10. MusicLife July 12, 2016

The performance Lil Kim was involved with was a damn mess. Seemed like a dress rehearsal by everyone on stage with a mic.
    ??
Lil Mama is always coming with the aura and energy of her idols. I love that about her and she respects the craft. Shame she didn’t have much of a career.
    ??
Lol at Dej Loaf popping up. Ester Dean shoulda did “Supa Dupa Fly.”
    ??
Oh and Eve killed all of her duties and she really should be honored next because she has a career that was pretty amazing too.

THIS is what you call a SHOW ! Teyana and Lil Mama showed out !!! Missy , Kim , Queen , and Salt & Pepa deserved this ! Such an iconic moment for female artist in general !

To see them ALL share that stage together at the end is something really special considering how much the public forces the females against each other . Anybody who’s willing to comment HATE under this post is a legit f*cking HATER .

  12. Truth(honey Adel is a has been like nicki) July 12, 2016

    Enjoyed it!!!

  13. Lake Erie July 12, 2016

Yes!! This awards ceremony was well over due and definitely a must see!!! Like everyone kept saying last night on twitter and at the awards: “what took so long” . I’m glad it finally happened though. All the female hip hop artist who made an impact was there!

  14. Lake Erie July 12, 2016

I really love that headline picture of Queen Latifah. She looks beautiful.

  15. Dev July 12, 2016

Dej, Mama & Teyana i see you… you! Who keeps hiring French Montana?

    • FU July 12, 2016

I agree. He must be in bed with the right people.

  17. BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 July 12, 2016

    Great show!!! Congrats ladies!

  18. Ladies rules July 12, 2016

All my black sisters, so beautiful!!!

  19. wendy woo July 12, 2016

The girls here are as delusional as ever… how kim gone forget the lyrics to her own damn song? she should have had her ghost writer’s hologram up there with her

  20. iamdiego July 12, 2016

I enjoyed the show. Shout out to Lil Mama and Ms Taylor for that Lil Kim tribute. I wish Nicki would have showed up.

    • July 12, 2016

Why? dude Nicki always been an outcast, and don’t say she cost it on her self, only person there who ever showed Nicki love is queen Latifah and sometime Remy ma. Nicki don’t need to go there so they can look at her with bad eye and talk that sh!t, No it’s better nicki stays where she is at and kim and them all continue to do there thing over there.

  21. Yeee July 12, 2016

I wish Nicki Minaj would’ve been there, even if she wasn’t performing, I would’ve loved to see some unity. We really need that in these times when our nation is divided. I just hope Kim and her can squash that beef because they both make great music.

    • Jamon July 12, 2016

If Faith Evans could show up and say a few kind words, anyone could!!

      • MusicLife July 12, 2016

Exactly what I am saying. But Nicki is petty and doesn’t want any competition, it’s like she is afraid of it.

  22. What Now July 12, 2016

The show was surprisingly good. I would say that Hip-Hop needs to do it again with a bunch of female rappers with huge support behind them, but their fans would just be online in blogs and etc arguing senselessly over who is better, so …

    • GirlGroupFan July 12, 2016

      Shaaaaaaaddde

  23. Credits July 12, 2016

    I just love Monica’s presence.

  24. IG : @mixedboy July 12, 2016

    U.N.I.T.Y.

  25. StanPolice July 12, 2016

Teyana Taylor BODIED Lil Kim’s aura and body gestures from 1996. MIRRORED Kim’s stage presence 100%. It really was like watching Kim from back in the day! To be honest Kim’s performance was a mess. You CAN’T forget the words to your own s***. The energy just wasn’t there!!!!

  26. Ajm265 July 12, 2016

Come through Monica Kick Down Your Door & Smack Ya Chick. I hope she brings this back. This performance gave me still standing era drive.

  27. cocobutta July 12, 2016

  30. Bitchpleaseeeeeee July 12, 2016

What Ms Taylor just did is the lil Kim I know but now she sounds tired as phuck!?
    Ashanti…….oh baby ❤️
    Eerrrm but where was Nicki????

  31. Danzou July 12, 2016

Nicki has so much control over yall gay asses. She wasn’t there cuz she obviously ain’t gonna show up to tribute a b**** who was DISSING HER. Men compete in hip hop ALL the time and no one says s***. Hip hop is competitive and kim LOST to nicki. KIM IS WASHED. I love ha but she’s WASHED. Nicki is worth 77 MILLION. In seven years her net worth is 77 MILLION. Lol so. Yeah.

  32. Danzou July 12, 2016

Nicki raps better than kim and kim never wrote her own raps.

    • Danny Bey July 12, 2016

And Nicki does? Oh lawd the delusion.

  33. Ropeburn July 12, 2016

YAAAASSSS!!! The Queen Latifah and Salt-n-Pepa tributes had me goin the F off. Got me up in here sweatin’ to the oldies n s***!
