Redefining Pop music throughout the late 90’s, the Spice Girls achieved unparalleled worldwide success during their heyday.

Now, 20 years after their debut, the iconic outfit are gearing up to get the band back together to mark the occasion. There’s a twist, of sorts, though.

Full story below…

Undoubtedly a dream come true for some fans, and a blasphemous act to others, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie B have reunited as a trio. They’re reforming under the name GEM.

Absent are Posh and Sporty Spice, with the latter saying she’s undecided about her potential return. Mel C, as most known, cites a solo project as the reason for the conundrum.

Victoria Beckham has made it more than obvious that she is far from ready to take to the stage with her former counterparts. We imagine her respected status in the fashion industry is likely motivating her decision.

Thanking fans for their loyalty throughout the years in a new clip, the ladies revealed that a major event is set to take place in celebration of their career.

Details are scarce on when the spectacle will take place. However, it’s rumoured Ginger, Baby and Scary have secured a July date in London’s Hyde Park.

Are you excited as we are for new Spice Girls run?

Your thoughts?

  4. UMo July 8, 2016

Wack. The Spice Girls were always lame. Only 9 year old girls and gay men in arrested development got into them.

    • ?+✈=? July 8, 2016

      You must be gay then

      • Umo July 8, 2016

I don’t own a single solitary thing from the Spice Girls, and haven’t put a so much as a nickle in any of its members pockets, so nope.

Who’d even be interested in a reunion of the original four? The Spice Girls were one of the most horrendous moments of music. So bad that they became a momentary guilty pleasure that most wouldn’t admit to when it was over. The two who are opting out probably know better than to try and recreate that nonsense.

The Spice Girls are part of UK History, none of your faves could ever close the OLYMPICS!!! All these negative bishes think there lame comments are gonna rewrite history lol! like the rest of the WORLD anytime the Spice Girls get back together it’s an international event and I’m beyond excited, MEL C said she won’t do it without Victoria and VB wants to focus on fashion so I’m here for GEM those tickets will sell like hot cakes, if Take That can sell out a world tour with just 3 members then Spice Girls can, Bring It On!!!!

    • janfan1814 July 8, 2016

Meh. UK success is overrated. Their taste in music is garbage. Crazy Frog blew up there, for crying out loud. The Spice Girls were nothing more than a quick passing fad when music was at a crossroads and needed an intermission between what had happened and what was about to.

      • Indie July 8, 2016

Its only because your a member of the Jan Fam that I’m not going to read you to the GODS as Janet is my Queen, however now is not the time to be an arrogant American, focus on whats going on around you in your country and then try and tell me about any other success in other countries being overrated! As I said none of your comments can re-write history so keep talking that bull and don;t dirty up Janet’s name with that mess talk!

I know they’re the higest selling girl group, but I only know ONE song from them in like 20 years.

  11. King B July 8, 2016

I have to agree with Mark tho. I only heard Wannabe that’s it. Viva Forever too, but most of the people only know Wannabe. I don’t get the hype with this group. I remember when I was a kid, I listened to Survivor, Say My Name, Lose My Breath etc and I was shocked that DC was not as big as Spice Girls. Somehow I wish both of this group would release a new album at the same time and see who will win.

    • Patthepuss July 8, 2016

All of those DC songs are from the 00’s so I’m guessing you were too young to see the spice movement. Yes their songs were corny as Hell but there’s no denying their impact in late 90’s music.

      • King B July 8, 2016

I heard several of Shania Twain’s songs. Mariah, Whitney, Michael etc. But for them just Wannabe, that’s all. Viva Forever, sometimes.

  12. Avi July 8, 2016

They were terrible and their music was as corny as something on a PBS kids show. I’ll pass.

  13. Keegan Parker July 8, 2016

Victoria didn’t sing anyway and sporty is amazing but the three can sannng so I’m here for it

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the people who think Posh was anything more in the group but a face. Nobody cared about her vocals. She was basically a pretty face who was there to dress well.

Honestly you could probably have the SG with only Mel B and Mel C…and perhaps add in Emma B just to make it a trio. Geri already quit the group once and “Holla” was a hot song without her, so her parts can easily be covered. Baby, Scary, Sporty would be the ultimate trio of SGs.

  16. Annalise July 8, 2016

They could’ve continued with the Spice Girls brand if Sporty was on board too (since they’ve gone on as quartet before). Although Posh was my favourite (along with Scary Spice), she really brought nothing to the table vocal-wise and was the only member that couldn’t achieve a number 1 outside the group. That being said, she’s arguably the most successful of the girls and honestly it would probably be backwards movement for her career in fashion if she went back.

    • MusicFan103 July 8, 2016

If she truly never liked music. If she was a musician and loved the craft it wouldn’t matter how successful her fashion career and last name is NOW, it would be her passion (project) and she would do it. Posh that it, VB.

      • Annalise July 8, 2016

TRUTH T!! Once she married David and became “Posh and Becks”, it was clear that she was more interested in using her fame to start her own brand. Music was always just a platform to her + I don’t think she imagined that the group would end up being as successful as they were. I don’t what it is with girl groups, but they always seem to be doomed by the 3rd or 4th album in. I can’t think of any modern group making it past that with all their original members.

  17. Bitchpleaseeee July 8, 2016

I’m up for it. Tell me what I really really really really want……….. #wannabe????????

  18. Hives still scared of R8 July 8, 2016
