This week saw the Black Eyed Peas belter unleash comeback single ‘M.I.L.F $’ on the masses.
Its arrival comes on the heels of 2014 club jam ‘L.A. Love (La La)’ and 2006 solo album ‘The Duchess’ – which spurned multiple worldwide hits.
The busy banger polarized upon release, yet still managed to climb to #14 on US iTunes on the merit of the singer’s name.
However, the impact of its cameo friendly visual has gifted the Polow Da Don production quite the boost.
As at writing, ‘M.I.L.F’ sits at #2 on American iTunes – bested only by Justin Timberlake‘s seemingly unmovable ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling.’
The cut’s accompanying clip has amassed over 7 million views on VEVO in one tracking day. A feat which proves in earnest the power still present in the video format when used properly.
Enlisting the likes of Kim Kardashian and Ciara was also a stroke of genius too from a streaming standpoint. The latter being especially important for Fergie-Ferg in today’s gratingly ageist industry. Jury’s out on what radio’s reception to both her and the track will be, but with this out of the gate digital slay, one has to wonder how much (if at all) that side of things will matter.
Needless to say, its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 next week should be all sorts of interesting.

I know right. They all look so good in that video.but Ciara looks amazing.
I’m shocked in a sense how quickly it stormed the top 10 on iTunes because I am not the fondest of the track and prefer “LA LOVE” sonically but congrats Ferg!
Ciara was the best looking one in that video, but I don’t like how she had to join Fergie in the “urban” scene just cause she’s black. Everyone knows Ciara is classy and far from what white America considers “ghetto/hood” to be.

Ciara is indeed classy but I mean all you have to do is look at “Oh” and “Ride” and see why she fits that scene more than Chrissy or Kim. Its not a diss, its just a fact and a plus because Ciara is more versatile than any other lady on the set. Instead of making it negative, realize its positive.

Right, It was a unexpected surprise for me. Its a video so diff than everything else out, and for that alone, I applaud Fergie 7 the Directors.
Exactly! I wasn’t even big on Fergie like that (although I loved the first album)! Fergie is just ready to bring it! Respeck! She did a good job with selling this one! I’ve watched M.I.L.F $ a couple of times now and it doesn’t get old!

I feel the same. It remind me so much London Bridge and went back and download it. Same producer, same type of produce and composition. And the vibe of the song and video is the same as well. Love it tho.

The video was Genius! I could see it going #1 on Billboard Hot 100. But her team must strike hard and promote and get that radio play while Justin TimberLATE doesnt have a video out. His song is so cliche and expected, Also Justins song sounds like everything else on pop radio.
