Leona Lewis lit up Good Morning America today.

The songbird, who has been cast as lead in ‘Cats’ on Broadway, soared with the production’s signature song ‘Memory.’

Lewis’ role comes at interesting junction of her career; reports surfaced last month that she had severed ties with her record label after the disappointing performance of “comeback” album ‘I Am.’

The ‘Bleeding Love’ belter replaces Nicole Scherzinger, who instead opted for a slot on the judging panel of the show Lewis won – ‘The X Factor UK.’

Can her turn as Grizabella help turn things around? Watch her mesmerizing performance below and let us know…

She bodied that! I’m rooting for her! She just needs a new image like what they did to Rhianna with the bad girl image. I would just love her to get down and dirty on a few tracks!

Omg, I would gag if she would come out with a whole new image, like Christina with “Stripped.” not saying she should go sluuuuutty, but something more edgy and less boring.

I wonder if she found a new label yet. If so, I really hope she completely reshapes her image and sound to be more appealing to the U.K. again. That “Lush Life” girl will no doubt be her biggest competition.

She has a really nice voice. The issue is they tried to make her the “new” Mariah Carey and they was Simon Cowell trying to market her the wrong way. She is very talented but like Jennifer Hudson she is bland.

      Bland in what way..?

    • eric August 4, 2016

Her sound is sometimes bland, but she is not.

        But in what way?

      • LISA LEVINE August 4, 2016

SHE has a good voice, but shes anti-h** – which means shes not gonna appeal to the masses.

She needs to go voice a Disney Princess animation.

Sad…the industry got this poor girl crawling on all fours to stay relevant in the media. They will surely chew you up and spit u out in the game.

Her last album may not have sold well but what’s interesting is that tracks from the album keep popping up in movie trailers and tv shows. And every time I hear one, I find myself going right back to that album on spottily.

    nice.

    That was beautiful.

she came out at a time when she needed to know how to dance…not only sing.

That was actually pretty lackluster when compared to the original and I happen to like Leona but this was disappointing. Also she’s gotten a little thick it’s cute on her

    Brava

I was actually unimpressed. I think the role requires someone to have more range and texture to their voice to sing this as well as power. For me, unfortunately it lacked the emotion that I often find with Leonas songs. Yes, she can sing but needs to use more range and emotion.

Leona missed her calling as the voice of a Disney Princess.
Such a beautiful performance. I think this might be her lane.

I want her to do well, but she lacks so much personality….her instrument tho is stunning.
