It’s here!

Katy Perry is ready to ‘Rise’ with her new Olympic single.

After ample teasing, the video for the cut was unleashed on the eve of the opening ceremony in Rio, Brazil. Just hours after boyfriend Orlando Bloom was caught in a picture scandal.

Watch the Pop force’s first video in over two years after the jump…

Cute.

That said, we’re ready for this ‘Rise’ run to wrap and for the “proper” return to commence.

‘Prism’ delivered the numbers (somewhat) but (for us) it’s not a patch on ‘Teenage Dream.’ What will her fourth studio outing offer up? Time will tell.

In the here and now, we want to know…

Your thoughts?

    She’s literally fighting the parachute.
Why is it in every scene, why is she traveling with an open parachute?
Its pretty/ of nice quality tho. Thats about it.

    • Christina Aguilera August 5, 2016

Katy is officially th Parachute Girl..

    • August 5, 2016

You know that sprinters trains with an open Parachute right, they use it for resistance, so they can go faster in an actual race even when it’s windy on the tracks. and drag race cars use it to slow down, so it’s safe to say she is using the parachute to give use a visual, of her fighting against resistance and persevering regardless of something trying to hold her back, and in turn that resistance in to power and rise. this song have alot of meaning alot of substance in my opinion and i really like it.

Katy girl…first of all please let this be a single that was for the Olympics and not for your upcoming studio album the reason why I say this is because the song is not kitschy it’s not rememberable and it’s just flat out not that good . Your last first single off of your last album was brochur your last first single off of your last album was Better “roar”

    • wrosy3 August 4, 2016

I like bey song sorry cannot get enough of that song driving in the car make you bop and swerve all the damn time the Olympics needed someone like Jennifer Hudson for a powerful ballad this song is really low grade for the Olympics at 30 she is too gimmicky

    • maurice August 4, 2016

she already said she was asked to release this early for the Olympics.
actual single is dropping in two months or so.

  3. Jo August 4, 2016

No shade but Katy can stay in 2014.

Same bland voice and songs. Nothing special at all.

It’s a new time, a new era. Bye Katy.

    • FRESH NAVI August 4, 2016

Teenage Dream was her Magnum Opus.

She’ll never top it. Prism struggled and so will her fourth album.

She’s dated and nothing w/out max martin clearly.

      • Taylor Swift-To-Find-A-New-Man (Slayty) August 5, 2016

Prism struggled but it outsold Rihanna’s last 3 albums lmao. And Rise was produced by Max Martin

  4. Molly #TheMostRelevantBitch August 4, 2016

This song was cute for a week but can we get the official first single already?

  5. Meteorite August 4, 2016

    Wrong Post I Know But!
Christina Aguilera’s New Song For The Show “The Get Down” Is Called “Telepathy (feat. Nile Rodgers)”!!!
Miguel’s Song For The Same Soundtrack Is Called “Cadillac”!!!

    • Dem Lessers August 4, 2016

I’m tired of her releasing songs other than the lead single from her next album. Bxtch needs to release some real s***!

      • Meteorite August 4, 2016

LoL I’m there with you but if history is any to go by, we can expect Christina to drop a single or her album sometime between August through November. Because with the exception of Bionic, all of her albums have been released in the later part / 4th quarter of the year.

  6. No favs, just here for the music August 4, 2016

Aha not gonna lie this is kind of cheesy. The song doesn’t really move me either it’s just sorta…bland?

  7. Dem Lessers August 4, 2016

Death at her calling paparazzi to take pictures of her showmance partner for publicity, too scared to release a thing without a gimmick or controversy. I see her and Taylor, all innocent acting but they’ll do literally anything for fame.

    • Taylor Swift-To-Find-A-New-Man (Slayty) August 5, 2016

Still mad about Make Me or nah? Lol

      • Janet August 5, 2016

Why? Its in the top 10 on Itunes, as is her newest release “Private Show”. What’s to be mad about? Stay pressed honey.

      • Dem Lessers August 5, 2016

        What @Janet said…

  8. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy August 4, 2016

I like the video as its beautifully shot; however, I flat out don’t like the song. Reminding me of Rihanna’s Sledgehammer, and every other Sia song for that matter, it’s just melodramatic that goes nowhere. Plus it sounds like it would be a great cut for a straight-to-DVD knock off Rocky movie. While I do love the inspirational lyrics, the song falls flat where, with the right Kanye production, it could have this anthemic presence. I’m sure Taylor Swift is somewhere effortlessly sucking some random Abercrombie model’s D as she has nothing to worry about.

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) August 4, 2016

No shade, whatever happened to SLEDGEHAMMER by RIH?? I thought that was going to be her next no 1 single.

      • Fashion Icon ~ Anti&Lemonade August 5, 2016

        LOl

      • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy August 5, 2016

You and I BOTH know that Sledgehammer was not going to make it #1. It’s completely non-radio friendly as it literally sounds she’s stepping out of a spaceship in Sia form. It was never even sent to radio! Sledgehammer was just a way to make money off a song that didn’t fit on ANTI, and hell who knows she may even be performing at the Oscars

    • wrosy3 August 5, 2016

Katy fans don’t come for rih she supposedly have 100million followers and her song is at 57 on billboard and that Taylor Swift fan does Taylor has a career anymore after Mrs west distroyed her fake lilly life I will not allow any of you to come for two top black females I like Katy but no bueno with this song

I’m here for Princess Gabby Douglas! #RISEGabby #Rio2016

  10. Surprise..(DEC 2013) August 4, 2016

THE SONG IS CALLED RISE…TO BAD ORLANDO BLOOM COULD NOT DO THE SAME, GUESS U CAN’T ALWAYS WIN.

    • Mrkc9 August 4, 2016

he did rise! That was it fully up ??????

  11. Surprise..(DEC 2013) August 4, 2016

The video was boring and the song still sounds like a reject from Teenage Dream or Prism. I need Katy Perry to show some growth in her music and stop releasing the same eye of the tiger kinda of generic inspirational songs. I thought she was going to go a different direction…but guess not.

  12. Mrkc9 August 4, 2016

“Orlando and I didnt see the cameras” she will say….. Yeah right! Any publicity is good publicity

  13. Mark111 /.\ August 4, 2016

Nice HD video. Song is a driving song, should be for a soundtrack vs a lead single for an album.

  14. Bitchpleaseeee August 4, 2016

Nice song and video. It’s stuck in my head now ??????❤️ #riseabovethehate

  15. Taylor Swift-To-Find-A-New-Man (Slayty) August 5, 2016

LOL! Its funny how people complained about her music being too upbeat and campy but now its too…motivational and mature? Lol its funny how that works. This video is cute and Rise is still a great song but I’m ready for a full on Katy era

  16. Janet August 5, 2016

Here is the thing about Katie…..she is pretty basic on almost every level and I am not exactly sure how she even got famous. Yes, Teenage Dream was a dope record and her songs are usually catchy and fun. That being said, she cannot sing well, nor dance, and is only semi-pretty without the Hollywood makeup. I am not sure how she has ridden the fame wave this long. Plus, now she seems like a shady b**** on top of everything else tbh.

    • SMH August 5, 2016

Two words that begin with WP.

  17. Casual August 5, 2016

The song is in a free fall on the charts, and this video will not save it. The song is inspirational, but it’s not a hit in today’s market. Artists need to understand that it’s no longer possible to make a hit out of a song the public isn’t feeling. If you’re a star and want to remain one, each new era has to begin with what could be a career-launching hit. Madonna, Whitney, Mariah, Janet, and Katy herself have done this.

    • Fancy BISH August 5, 2016

“…each new era has to begin with what could be a career-launching hit…” -Casual
      Love this! It’s the truth!

  18. ow Reddish tran ivy blobukz Need UK timely Ukuyiji August 5, 2016

    Nice music video

  19. JOHNVIDAL August 5, 2016

My goodness the song is just so bad. And she cannot pucking sing AT ALL. All autotune… and vibrato? Unknown to her. What a terrible choice of song for some Olympic Games.

  20. F August 5, 2016

Teenage Dream was an amazing album and it was cohesive, most pop albums nowadays are a mix of genres and they try to see what sticks, but that was not the case, Teenage Dream was a great pop record, almost every song has potential to be a single and she had some gems in there, but I want to see her evolve, maybe with an acoustic album (her Unpluggled EP is surprisingly good) or something like Who Am I Living For, she promised to be personal and more dark but Prism sounded like a bunch of Teenage Dream rejectes.
