Following a slew of false starts Tinashe‘s ‘Joyride’ LP has finally found glory in ‘SuperLove‘, its latest single.

Meet us below to find out why the promising Urban Pop starlet has good reason to rejoice today.

‘Super’s video premiered on August 12th 2016 and featured choreography and concepts developed by Jacquel Knight and Hannah Lux Davis, the creative behind Ciara’s ‘I’m Out’ visual.

Since then, the Baywatch-inspired video has been spun 5.7 million times on VEVO, reaching an enviable milestone once it swam past the 5 million spins mark.

Quite interestingly, the clip has outperformed numbers accumulated by her earlier release ‘Party Favors’ ,which only recently crossed the 3.4 million mark following its release in November 2015.

Fans now hope that the visual’s success will spill over onto the charts and push the single into the Billboard Hot 100 before its parent album sees the light of retail day.

She had this to say about the number via a press release which surfaced before its unveiling.

I have felt a strong urge recently to release a song that promotes positivity, love, and light. Superlove is a celebration of happiness. More specifically, it celebrates the kind of happiness that is so immense and infectious, that you can’t help but to rejoice in it.

‘Ride’ is yet to score a release date.

    • Indie August 23, 2016

Only thing thats a flop is your dads D..K FOH! She’s one of the most hardest working girls in the industry and she is shining the only way is up for her!

  4. Rebby August 23, 2016

I’m sorry if I offend you but Tinashe doesn’t have that ‘it’ factor to be a superstar. Something is lacking with her

    • Jamie August 23, 2016

She can sing, but there’s something lacking in her voice.

      • Sam August 23, 2016

Its basic, thats the problem with her voice but that being said many a basic singer has made it big.

  5. Hmmm… August 23, 2016

Maybe this is major for tinashe but…

  6. RihNavy August 23, 2016

FLOP. My girl CL got to 4 million 3 days after the video came out. BLACK PINK got 10 million in a week. My kflops could never

    • Danzou August 23, 2016

But they’re using black culture to do it so I’ll take authenticity from tinashe any day.

So basically you can keep a song on repeat and than suddenly you have chart success?
I remember the days when people used to have to queue up outside stores for single, album releases and concert tickets but now all you have to do is click and stream and then you’re a star.

  9. LB August 23, 2016

She needs live performances of this song, her management is sleeping.

    I don’t know her.

Tinashe is slaying! No matter what the haters say about her she will get people to see that she’s one of a kind! “Super Love” is the perfect single to be released in order to gain her pop audience. She’s a versatile artist anyway and shouldn’t be put into a box. #TeamTinashe

  13. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? August 23, 2016

OMG! This is why I call her “The little engine that could.” She’s about to get another single to chart on the Hot 100 and I’m so proud of her.

    • You August 23, 2016

Y’all said that about the other 10 flop singles she released. It ain’t happening.

  14. BRK August 23, 2016

I don’t see it for her sorry. This era has been so messy!

  15. AJ August 23, 2016

I dunno how many times I’ve said it but she’s pretty and she’s obviously a good writer – her stuff has been commissioned/used by other artists. On her own as an artist? Her musical styles jump all over the place, she has wafer thin/delicate vocals like Melody Thornton. Y’all said she was the only star in PCD and y’all were wrong then too.

I don’t get the appeal especially when everyone is pinning their hopes on a Fantasy Ride z-side.

    • Johnny Gill Nicole Scherzinger Brian McKnight August 23, 2016

Melody didn’t have thin vocals, her voice was just annoying! She just has a naturally ugly voice. I’ll take tinashe’s weak voice over melody any day.

    • Johnny Gill Nicole Scherzinger Brian McKnight August 23, 2016

Lol @anybody thinking that melody was the only star, or a star at all for that matter! Anybody who thinks melody’s voice was “soulful” must not know what that word soulful actually means. Melody was boring/basic af, same runs in every performance, she always ruined every song live with her “voice.” Everyone knew that melody was the worst singer in that group, even though the four others hardly sang, they still sounded better than mel. But back to tinashe, she just has a pop voice, like ciara, s******, janet, I think pop is the right direction for her, she doesn’t have the voice to sing r&b. Not that today’s r&b takes any vocal talent. It worked for the weeknd didn’t it? Probably the thinnest male voice of all time, but at least the weeknd had some decent moments despite his girly voice. Tinashe ain’t had one great song, this one is pretty good though. Dream and Tricky brought their a-game, tin tin better thank them!

      • Johnny Gill Nicole Scherzinger Brian McKnight August 23, 2016

Tinashe album was like s******* spears trying to sing soulful r&b! A big no-no!

  16. Danzou August 23, 2016

I mean I like super love but I just don’t respect the Jason derulo approach that her team is taking. It’s annoying. It’s not always about sales rather than releasing great music that people will come across over time.

    • 4everBrandy_Ci August 23, 2016

Jason Derulo approach? I DISAGREE with that one. Jason Derulo is more a pop artist. Tinashe is r&b and urban with a hint of pop. “Super Love” is a good single to start off with the era. She’s going to still have that urban element to her. Some people act because “Super Love” is a pop single that her entire album will be like that. She’s going to cater both audiences. The important thing is her promoting this single and getting ready to release “Joyride”. #TeamTinashe

      • Johnny Gill Nicole Scherzinger Brian McKnight August 24, 2016

They’re both in the same genre. Pop!
